I had no idea what to expect when I walked into the studio. I have attended classes sporadically over the past couple years and really love the space. The studio is gorgeous and peaceful. The classes emphasize stretching and body logic and left my tight muscles feeling loosened and lengthened. Wish that I could afford private sessions and I am not sure whether they still offer group classes.

Loved it. I’ve been told by a podiatrist that I need foot surgery. One of my friends who teaches pilates recommended I try some Yamuna bodywork first for reallignment of my posture /where I’m bearing weight on my feet. I saw Scott and it was amazing! I’ve had numerous massages, some & some myofacial work done. This was an incredible hybrid between the two. I actually left feeling/walking slightly uneven because my body was actually properly alligned for the first time in years. It will most likely take some muscular retraining to maintain this; however, still an incredible experience. They’re definitely on to something. If I was rich, I would treat all my family friends to this experience. I also took a foot class, purchased the DVD& foot wakers, have been doing this at home and my feet feel considerably better after just two weeks. Class basically teaches you how to walk properly, something most of us have probably never considered. Also tried a body rolling class, quite wonderful, worked out muscles I didn’t even realize I had. You can get some of the benefits I mentioned from the massage for much less money. UPDATE — had given them 5 stars, but am downgrading to 4 as I returned to Yamuna for bodywork and saw someone new. She was less expensive, but also not worth it in my opinion.

GREATCUSTOMERSERVICE. They go above and beyond to help you to feel comfortable every step of the way. My acupuncturist recommended me to do Yamuna ball rolling to relieve my shoulder and neck pain. It was one of the very few things that helped me, and I have been practicing at home ever since. The balls and classes aren’t cheap, but they believe in the quality and are happy to give me a new one when mine started leaking. They have a lot of repeat customers, which to me is a very good sign.

The first time I was introduced to yamuna bodyrolling, it was at the ultra exclusive canyon ranch in Arizona. I took to it right away — what fun it was. How could something this much fun actually be good exercise? You sit on little inflatable balls and roll around like a kid. I went every day because it seemed so easy. Soon i was doing nothing else. My dears — its a highly rigorous, systematic approach to stretching, releasing, massaging, toning & building muscle, and creating bone density. Goodbye stairmaster, weightlifting, squats and exercises that contract your body. This work leaves you loose, open and strong. It’s all I do now, Of course you can use it as a supplement to other exercises because it strengthens and stretches. And thats always good. But you don’t need anything else if you do it regularly. Maybe a little walking. The HUGE miracle here is that it costs 20 bucks to drop in, no signups, no yearlong commitments, no questions asked, Just a friendly attitude and a lot of glowing faces. By the way now she has a routine for the face which actually lifts up your muscles and strengthens your facial bones. Once you learn how you can do it at home — and thats what I do. But when Im in New York I always go to Yamuna’s studio and take her classes. I always walk out feeling like a million bucks. New York’s only high end exercise studio thats actually affordable as well as revolutionary.

Yamuna is amazing. I met her about 7 years ago when an old girlfriend dragged me to this«weird» workshop in Marin. Having just got into yoga I was very sceptically about this little balls that we were rolling on. That was until about 15 minutes in the class. I remember vividly going done the back of my legs, which had just healed from sciatica and really feeling where the scar tissue had set in. My leg shook uncontrollably, my body temp shot up and suddenly felt the area release. From that moment on I have used body rolling as an active part of my routine. As a teacher Yamuna is also top notch, Her work and idea about Body Logic totally changed how I teach yoga and how I do yoga. If you really want to change your body, get some Body Logic done. Her elbows, totally rearranged my body and was monumental to healing a number of Chronic injuries. My only complaint is that she is in New York and not San Francisco!!!

body rolling is amazing. I took classes with a pilates teacher in Philadelphia and since I moved back have made do at home. The Yamuna studio is a great space in the West Village and I have taken two classes there. I recently took one with Yamuna herself(and felt a bit starstruck). The«yoga» class(not so recognizable as yoga) with the foot savers was incredibly painful but my feet felt soooo good afterwards. I think I am now ready to upgrade from the foot wakers. Seriously, roll on the red ball at your neck and shoulders and your head will feel so much lighter. If this post makes no sense to you check out the website or go to the studio yourself, .

The first 15 minutes I thought this was total bs, but once i got into it i started to like it a lot… like yoga, pilates, with some balls thrown in for good measure. The next day I could definitely feel the workout.

Not sure how to describe body rolling, but it’s an awesome way to stretch out your muscles and work out kinks in your body. I decided to go after reading about it in various mags(Yamuna has a cult following) in order to rehab my achilles heel and right leg(too much running) — after a few sessions of foot fitness and body rolling, I’m hooked. My body feels more stretched out, and my foot isn’t hurting as much.
