The best massage I’ve had in NYC at a very good price. Pretty bare bones and massage takes place in a communal room but it is very clean and the massages are exceptional. I have been coming here for 4 years regularly and have gotten countless free massages thanks to their punch card system. Massages here are not for the faint of heart — they are definitely tough, but they leave you feeling amazing.

I have had a huge knot for years and have had physical therapy and massages from countless number of places, Bliss in particular, was the last place I went to. Went for an hour and paid close to $ 175.00 for an hour. This was $ 42.00 for 61 minutes. and was great. No, it doesn’t have the pretty lockers and products and the bells and whistles that Bliss does but in the end all that mattered was a great massage that left me feeling that my huge know had actually been worked out.

One of many cheap Chinese massage spots in the area, but this is one came highly recommended from friends. Come with proper expectations. When you read in reviews that it’s no frills, it doesn’t just mean that they don’t have fluffy robes or fancy lounge areas. It means that it’s so low-key that the lady at the front desk will give you a couple sheets of toilet paper for you to take with you if you need to use the bathroom. But the savings they get from not putting TP out apparently is put into the price of the massages… I think my full hour service was $ 35 or so. They have a big shared room, which was great for me since I was there with two friends, but I could see it being a bit awkward to lie there with a bunch of strangers. The ladies don’t bother keeping a quiet atmosphere while they do their thing — they chatted pretty much throughout the whole session. Lucky for me, I don’t understand Mandarin so I was able to tune it out and relax while getting massaged. As for their skill level, it’s definitely a great choice if you want to treat overall tension and stress… if you have a really specific area where they need to dig in and work on some crazy knots, these ladies may be a bit too light-handed for you. If you’re looking for a massage in this area I assume you’re looking for a bargain, so this is definitely the spot for you.

I had a terribly stiff neck for 2 days and was looking for a quick cheap massage in NY while on a work trip. A friend recommended this place but warned me that it was no frills, not a spa, and sketchy looking but definitely CHEAP. When I walked in I was the only one there so I immediately texted my husband with my final goodbyes. But it was great! Didn’t even need to remove my clothes(thank god, in a room with 20 massage tables I was very wary but open minded), he just placed a towel over my back and asked me how long I wanted. I mentioned before I laid down that my neck was a problem area. After the first 30 minutes I asked him for 15 more because it was so amazing. This isn’t your typical swedish massage, its one of those«Oh god that hurts, but in such a good way» massages. Once I got up my neck pain was totally gone! No more almost getting run over because I can’t look left or right at an intersection! I’m only not giving 5 stars because the next day I had a pain in my back that I didn’t have before, he might have been a little rougher than he needed to be. For 30 bucks I really can’t complain though. Great experience. I’m pretty sure this is the same place as the other Wu Lim that comes up on Unilocal, but the address is 145 Grand St.

Here’s the absolute truth and what you need to know before you go. It’s CHEAP/NO FRILLS but better than Physical therapy! When you walk in you’re quickly ushered into the communal massage room. Wear thin clothes like yoga pants and a tank top. You don’t undress, I had to though because my jeans were too thick with embroidery on the pockets. So I had to shimmy out of them under a towel which was weird. My bf & I did an hour massage for $ 42. Our expectations were not high but we were pleasantly surprised and that’s an understatement. Instantly I knew I was in for a painful(good pain not bad pain) treat. My bf was on the table next to me making noises I’ve never heard him make :) We both have chronic back pain and are massage connoisseur’s. We loved it so much we added another 15 minutes to our hour, 75 minutes for $ 53 dollars. The prices cannot be beat and the massage was incredible! The technique they use(Tui-Na) was amazing, painful yes but like I stated good pain not bad pain. We live an hour outside of NYC but are planning to go in once a week for these massages until our knots are gone. Like any massage place there are going to be great therapists and not so great therapists my bf had an amazing woman & mine was okay but his was better so if on the first try you get one that you don’t like I strongly recommend you try again and request someone different. When you find the right one you will be hooked like us. And there you have it folks the absolute truth on Wu Lim Services. Go and Enjoy!

Worst service I’ve ever received. Upon entering, I was quickly ushered into a small, dimly lit room with about 15 – 20 occupied tables. The woman I was assigned was a the only latina in a sea of Asian workers. She was nice enough when she thought I was going to go for a 30 minute massage. When I said I was only in there for a 15 foot massage, she did a complete 180. She instructed me to lay down face up on the table, «Shoes OFF!» she screamed pointing at my feet, and stormed off. I almost didn’t stay at that point, but against my better judgment, I stayed and received the worst massage ever. The lady next to her appeared to be the owner, threw her dirty looks and mumbled what I can only guess were expletives. During the massage, she actually picked up my feet, and slammed them on the table! when I looked at her, she forced a stiff smile and instructed me to «relax, please!» At the end of the massage, she led me outside to the little office area, and ordered me «you pay him $ 15,» and stood there waiting for a tip after I paid. When I gave it to her, she snatched it from me, like it was something I stole from her, and didn’t utter so much as a thanks, and turned on her heal. The young man I spoke to spoke better English then anyone else, it seems, and when I told him that she was terrible, he simply said«Oh really? She’s got a really strong following with the other customers.» Way to address the issue. As I was about to leave, The nasty latina came from around the corner, and demanded«what did you say» I told her I simply was wondering about calling in to make an appointment. The young man saw everything from the tip snatching to that, and right then the owner lady came back out. The nasty latina then grabbed a card real quick, handing it to me, telling me to tell my friends, 10 massages equals one free, etc. I tore it up before I even walked down the block. I am also in the service industry, and sometimes, I hate customer service too, but no one would ever know it, because I keep my fucking cool. And too bad for them, because at these rates, and as much as I stand on my feet, and abuse my body, I’m definitely a weekly massage type of person, but they will never seem a red cent from me again! There are too many descent Asian massage spots for me to be handing over money to shitty people. I’de give this place a zero if I could.

Came here for a 30 minute back massage because my shoulders were really tight and sore. This place looks a little sketchy from the outside especially since it’s in a basement, but the inside looked clean enough. As soon as you walk in, the staff wastes no time with pleasantries or formalities. They lead you straight to the massage room where there are a bunch of beds with hole cut outs for you to stick your face. My woman did not speak any English, but I used my kindergarten level Mandarin to tell her I wanted her to focus more on my shoulders which she did. This woman started working on me like a bowl of dough with her fingers digging into my shoulders and I had to tell her to go lighter because it was quite painful. She lightened up the pressure, but this was definitely not a relaxing massage. She commented on how tight my shoulders were while continuing to work on my knots. My 30 minutes flew by and I think my shoulders were more sore than before going in there, but this is because she had to undo all my knots. I guess this was a poor man’s version of a deep tissue massage minus the oil and the spa like atmosphere.

The first time I heard of this place was years ago from my former client. She raved to me about Peter and how this was a hidden gem. She even mentioned celebrities comes here. I am not sure about that but Peter is great. I haven’t been back here for years, so I am not sure if he’s still there. Hours are 11:00 am — 10:30 pm.
