I went to this place on my birthday weekend which was May 13, and they were so nice in helping me find the hair that I was going to be the most comfortable and sexy in. They even let me use my friend’s discount. The guy’s name was Frank if I’m not mistaken. Thanks for helping me slay on my birthday :)

Stopped in after work today to hopefully pick up some hair relaxer because I knew Ricky’s wouldn’t carry it. Thankfully they had my Mizani Butter Blends for sensitive scalp hair relaxer in a single use container! There was a very nice gentleman there who helped me locate my relaxer and other items. He even swooped me out of the register line to ring me up faster on his cash register! Quick and easy shopping experience and the store is very tidy. It’s right by my job, so I’ll be using them in the future as they carry many products I currently use… Thanks to them, I’ll be able to get my hair did tomorrow!!! :-)

I walked in right before they were closing needing help and having a lot of questions. The staff were super helpful and answered all of my concerns and I didn’t feel rushed at all. I’ve been looking for a convenient beauty supply style store and this was totally it for me. I’m glad I found them.

This is THE place to go for your beauty needs. All beauty necessities in one store! Amazing selection of wigs and extensions. Can’t find another place like this in Manhattan. This is my store when I need stuff anywhere from Halloween costumes to my beauty needs. and yes… I drive an hour to do my shopping at this store.

This place has a solid selection of wigs/​extensions. i don’t know what the bad reviews are all about because every time i go in there, they’re super friendly and helpful and always have what i need. Much rather go here than ricky’s where its overpriced and low quality and selection is slim. I can’t walk out of this place without buying something

I’ve stopped in so many times I can’t count, so easy breasy. Service is amazing. I mainly go in for hair products. They carry everything and the staff is knowledgeable and let me know what works best at every price point. I work for a major fashion/​beauty mag and send everyone I can here. Keep the mom and pops alive in NYC, buy here for your salon and cosmetic needs on a fly.

Great service from beginning to end and a great wig selection. I wig daily and like to switch up my look and after searching all the Harlem wig stores, they have comparable selection and great quality with welcoming staff. Great balance of offering help and yet giving space too. Every time I visit this place looking for looks for photo shoots and day to day wear, I alway luck out at this location! #wiglife #slay lol

I went in here after reading Unilocal reviews about how the customer service here is awful so I didn’t expect much in terms of the staff. The people working here are honestly some of the worst employees I’ve ever had to deal with. To the manager: please train your employees better. The wigs here are nice, but none of the employees seemed to care about helping me with anything and refused to sell us a wig cap because they were «closing soon» (they close at 7:30, it was before 7 when we came in and asked). I really want to come back here because there’s a decent selection of wigs, but I’m not sure I want to be treated like I don’t exist again. I didn’t get to purchase a wig because of the fact that half an hour before they close they feel the need to try to PUSH ME OUT OF THE STORE.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! It has a great variety of wigs, among other products. Staff is very attentive. Raj (I guess is her name) was super patient with me, and helped me to try all the wigs on. Excellent customer service. I’m definitely going back to buy more wigs :)

Since we want to be HONEST. The service was not that great but I was trying to be optimistic and say less then anything else. I did not mention why you didn’t accept my card because it is no ones business. Plus it had nothing to really do with the rating of how horrible and slow it was of a service. The card issue only made it THAT much worse because in this day and age it would be your best interest to up your security to have allowed me to use my phone to pay. If it was my husband or father or whomever I might have said it was it would have been the same exact issue. P. S. The hair as I said was not that bad. But I stick to my answer I did not like the service when I was offered hair of the shelf instead of me having to INSIST going to get a new one at the price it was being charged.

I recently got inspired to highlight/​tone my hair and was looking for certain brands that you can’t find at the usual drugstores. I came across this place & was pleasantly surprised that they carried all the supplies needed and at affordable prices! The two guys that helped me (separate times) were very friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be that they need someone more knowledgable about coloring/​highlighting hair… i was just highlighting/​toning so the guy pointed me in the right direction but if i wanted to try the permanent/​demi permanent or high lift colors i would need more guidance which i don’t think they would know. You just need to do your research before you go in.

They have everything Ricky’s doesn’t!!! I was skeptical at first to come here because of the poor reviews, but after going to 3 – 4 Ricky’s and them not having what I need, I was so glad I finally forced myself to go here.
I was looking for Wella toners T14, T18, and 050, but all the Ricky’s I went to didn’t have it or was sold out. Such a bummer. Luckily this place had a bigger stock and sold the product even cheeper than what I had previously got it at Ricky’s.
Great customer service! The staff was also very friendly and helped my with all the questions that I had.

It’s hard to find Profeshional beauty products in NYC other than at ricksys. I have finally found a place where every color is in stock! They are friendly and helpful. I always go out of my way to buy Products here.

Shop here only if you are absolutely desperate. And always ask one of the female employees for assistance.
Walked in here to get hair extensions. I walk up to the guy who is standing in front of the extensions as request my colors and lengths. Immediately he is like «we don’t have that». So I politely point out what I think is my request. Then he passes me I to the female employee who easily understands my request.
Then back to the original guy to pay. There’s a 10% on Unilocal for wigs. I ask if this eligible. He says «no that was for November 1». It doesn’t t say that anywhere. At this stage I don’t want to deal with this guy who starts ringing up someone else’s order as well as mine. I have to keep an eye on him and politely tell him what items are mine.
So seriously, if you know what you need. Come here in an absolute pinch. Otherwise take you business elsewhere. They clearly don’t care for you shopping here anyway.

Poor selection of human hair wigs, we’re basically out of all blonde. Boo urns. The staff was polite, though they sold me a two cap packer for two dollars and only gave me one to keep — bit of a rip off if you ask me.

Odd/​hard to find items like platinum/​white/​blonde bobby pins for wigs or bleached white hair
Big beer can style rollers, mesh and plastic
Wave clips
old skool kill-​the-​ozone hair spray that is thick and sticky to work with your wigs
also goes without saying that there are regular items like modern hair spray, styling gel, foam curlers, all sorts of brushes, packs, shampoo/​cond, etc…
Not the best selection of wigs and falls, they need more lighter colors instead of browns.

I would have given this place more stars if it wasn’t for the poor customer service. I was buying a wig and went to pay the $ 2 for a wig cap to try on, only to have an employee tell me there was a $ 10 card minimum… despite the fact that I was literally about to buy a $ 50 wig. Very few people go try on wigs alone just for sh*ts and gigs. I explained I was about to buy one but she was not having it. «There’s an ATM across the street and around the corner,» she responded with infinite sass. Ok, risk $ 50 of sales because you won’t make an exception on the card minimum, and be rude on top of it…
in terms of selection– pretty good but prices are a little high for the quality.
