I don’t understand all the good reviews, this guy is a terrible barber – yeah, I didn’t get my hair cut because he yelled at me for showing him a picture of what I wanted. Joey asked me what kind of haircut I wanted. I showed him a picture from online and said, «Something kind of like this.» He acted annoyed, snapped at me, and yelled, «I can’t give you that haircut! If you want that, you’ve got to pay $ 100,000.» At that point, I got up and walked out. It’s an understatement to say it’s not great when you walk into a business and the owner aggressively yells at you when you ask for what you want. It wasn’t like he was busy either – there was no one else in the shop but me. I wouldn’t be surprised if he writes an angry rebuttal to this review, calls me names, and blames me for being a bad customer or not knowing what I want. Funny, because he was saying all sorts of things to the previous customer about how he got a haircut from someone and they didn’t care how he wanted it, and that you should listen to the customer. He can blame me for asking for what I want, or he can take responsibility for the fact that he’s not good enough to give me what I asked for. The guy before me had a shaved head, so maybe he should stick shaving people’s heads for $ 22, if he can’t even try to follow a simple picture.

Great value. Barber is a really nice guy. Definitely would recommend. The shop is great and has a cool feel to it. Only $ 17 for a haircut.

Joey is great, very professional! I was going to another barbershop when I discovered this little shop off 6^th avenue.
Didn’t know what to expect, but came out highly satisfied. Joey understood what i wanted and suggested some improvements, all of which worked well.
There are also some nice-​to-​have touches like the hot towel at the end. For the price, can’t beat it.

BEST HAIRCUT BARGAIN IN THE VILLAGE
A newcomer to the West Village – Wicked Ways Barber Shop at 104 Washington Place – deserves your serious consideration for a haircut. The owner – Joey Shim – is meticulous. He gave me the best haircut I have ever gotten (and my hair has been cut 1000s of times over almost 70 years!). As prices for haircuts creep steadily up in the Village, Joey’s cuts are a bargain at a limited-​time offer of $ 17. He even offers a touch-​up for $ 10. Stop by and give Joey a try; you don’t even need an appointment!

Really happy with my haircut Joe was a terrific Barber spent his time on the details (such as shaving my neck with a straight razor) and he is incredibly pleasant. This is a clean comfortable shop, new to the neighborhood. I wish him a lot of luck I’ll certainly be back again!

Sometimes you stumble upon great things by happenstance. Last week I was running around the city in need of a haircut when it started raining. My normal barber shop was still quite a trek away for me and I saw Wicked Ways had just opened. What the Hell I thought — let me pop in and support a new business and get out of the monsoon. Well just to reiterate all the reviews here — Joey knows what he’s doing and has made a convert out of me. I got the best haircut I’ve had in years and I will be back on the regular. Oh — and the free double shot of Bacardi on my way out was just icing on the cake.

I came in here after walking around the area and noticing the barber shop. The shop itself is extremely clean and brand new. And the owner, Joey, is extremely polite and personable — just super friendly guy. I ended up getting a hard part with a combover, and he made sure to consistently ask how certain areas looked and whether I preferred my part rounded or straight, whether I wanted my hair tapered out, and how high I wanted the part. His attention to detail was refreshing (as was the hot towel following the cut!). In short, it was an excellent haircut, an extremely pleasant experience, and I’ll definitely be coming back here for my next cut.

Joey gives a great haircut and had great conversation. He makes you feel like you’re the only one in the shop and I left feeling great about my hair. Hot towel, crack open a beer, he really knows how to treat a customer. I’d highly recommend Wicked Ways and Joey.

Joey ! G-​D bless his fingers as soon as I came in I noticed the brand new barbershop that Joey put so much sweat, courage and enthusiasm into! His beautiful polyurethane wooden floors with his brick walls so nicely compliment the exquisite old school brown leather chairs ! I just love Joeys style of cutting hair extremely professional and his personalities even better humorous with a splash of seriousness and a drop of pleasantness ! I came in wanting a shape up and left regretting not coming to him much sooner !
