There are moths or flies? in the bulk gain department. Even in the winter! I complained before and they didn’t seem to care very much. Thanks so much management! And good bye whole foods

Always crowded, but don’t let that scare you away. Their sushi bar is pretty good. Yesterday I enjoyed their salmon, avocado roll with cream cheese for lunch. Also check out their selection of fresh juices to enjoy as an afternoon treat!

Not a lot of vegetarian and little vegan options. Many things are usually not labelled in the food court area, which is annoying. The prepackaged foods are also mislabeled — bought a «Roast Vegetable Burrito» which listed is having a variety of mixed vegetables, etc. The contents were actually rice, beans, LETTUCE and CILANTRO. There were no vegetables or half of the other ingredients listed.

I have been to this Whole Foods a total of three times and all three times, the check out staff have been nasty to me. I’ve become used to the unfriendliness of the grocery store workers here in New York but was surprised that Whole Food would put up with such bad customer service. I am from CA where Whole Foods employs and I assume trains their employees to treat customers well and to be friendly. The check out staff I have encountered have a scowl on their face, never smile, never greet you, are not friendly and I have been yelled at to place my basket on the floor. What is with NYC? Why are there so many angry employees in customer service jobs? Unfortunately this is the closest Whole Foods to where I live but it is also smaller that most and doesn’t have the food court that some of the newer ones have. I will not be going here much — the high prices and substandard customer service will keep me away.

The low or inconsistent quality of fresh food and service at this Whole Foods doesn’t match the consistently high prices. You will pay the same for meat and fish here that you will at upscale markets like Citarella, but it won’t be as fresh or flavorful. Worse, the people handling these expensive items often measure and cut them poorly. The high turnover in these departments suggests a lack of experience or training. Produce has similar problems. While some items are consistently ok, others can really vary in quality and freshness. At a market that is charging so much, produce should always be fresh and well stocked. Unfortunately this is not always the case. You’ll have a better experience — and find better prices — at markets like Fairway, where management and inventory practices have been calibrated to handle New York volumes. This Whole Foods seems to have doubled down on prepared foods(which have higher margins and which are taxed) and frozen foods, which of course are cheaper to stock since they last so long. But this is New York — the competition, even from other, better Whole Foods in the city, is stiff and easily highlights this locations’ shortcomings. I like WF and I hope their management takes notice and makes some improvements here. There is ample opportunity.

This whole has a real neighbor feeling You do not feel it s a chain. I did have some bad experience by the past however they really improve the way they treat their customers. The store team Leader are managing it pretty well and always responding when you are in need. It s very appreciated to go there thinking they will give you all the help you need if something happen or if you have a specific request

Shout out to the nice man behind the sushi counter today who made a roll especially for me when I told him I’m allergic to avocado. My salmon-cucumber roll is DELICIOUS!

I purchase this pie from wholes food, and the 4 day it had mold all over the pie. I wonder what type of organic ingredients they use. I should’ve stick with the patti labelle sweet potato pie!

The organization of this location is optimal for NYC-prepared foods, hot bar, coffee shop, and bakery on the first floor, and grocery/produce/bulk on the basement floor. Immaculately clean and organized, and not obnoxiously crowded like every other Whole Foods in NYC. The selection of produce, vegan specialty items, and vegan bakery items is impressive. Lots of interesting brands and varieties that I hadn’t even seen before. They have an attached wine shop, which is a great touch to an already awesome location. Staff was very friendly, and I was able to check out in 5 minutes. This is the best Whole Foods in New York City. I didn’t know it existed until yesterday, and what a pleasant surprise!

This is my favorite Whole Foods. I lucked out today. They had coffee for 27 cents for a small. Today’s the last day for that promo. I noticed some Brooklyn made cupcakes and 2 inch Cheesecakes. I might try next time. I really don’t shop at WF. I find the prices too high. Plus too far to carry food bags home. Plus too ‘healthy’! I would recommend them at one time when I lived in another state. They do a great service to the community. If you’re working and can afford to spend, enjoy! I like the looks of all the prepared foods. Trouble is when I read the ingredients I find something I am allergic to! They have far too much combinations of ingredients. Nothing is plain. More than three ingredients, or four, and I stay away! My family tried using them for our Thanksgiving meal a couple years ago. Never again. Not good. Three stars for their effort and their community involvement.

Terrible experience. Waited on coffee line for 20 minutes. One person on line for 15 minutes until somebody showed up. No plan in place. I would have set up the coffee cannisters and offered self-service coffee and just focused on other drinks. I complained and got this reply: ‘the coffee is still hot, so why are you complaining?’

overpriced but solid. Really beautiful kale, disappointing pizza, overpriced meats, yummy mozzarella, good choices of string cheese. Crazy awesome selection of beer. If i had the money, i would shop here all the time… since I live in the building above it.

I shopped here for the first time today, and was very pleased with this While Foods location. I will add one caveat; this is a very high quality grocery store, but doesn’t have as nice of a seating area, and as many lunch options as some Whole Foods locations. In comparison to the Columbus Circle location, was very pleased with the lack of crowds here, and the generally more spacious layout. Was very pleased with the selection of grocery items. In general, pricing seemed very reasonable, especially for organic produce and fruits. However, in terms of the prepared food, I do not think this store provides as robust options as other locations. I didn’t see a sushi chef on hand, for example. I didn’t see as wide of a selection as I’ve come to expect, at least from my experience going to Whole Foods in Philadelphia.

I really like this Whole Foods, mostly because it’s not a crowded hellhole like the ones at Columbus Circle and(god forbid) Union Square. It’s so nice to walk into an NYC Whole Foods without feeling like you need to take Xanax. Other than that, it’s your typical Whole Foods. I do agree with the reviewer below me who said their hot food bar needs more vegetarian/vegan options. However, one of the hot food stations has these delicious Gardein meatballs, and you can get them as part of plate with collard greens/mac & cheese/some type of really good corn.

I love this Whole Foods. Unlike the ones downtown(especially Union Square), this grocery store is not super crowded. The lines move quickly, and the staff is super helpful. The long tables to eat overlook the checkout line. While loud, it makes it easy to ogle at the hot UWS dads while eating my thoughtfully picked produce.

Cons: 1) in the eating area so cold… Bret; 2) shut down the wifi before even closing the shop. Pros: 1) free wifi; 2) big store; 3) nice sushi bar that can make for you fresh sushi; 4) free delivery(if $ 150 spent); 5) big seating area; 6) clean bathroom.

Only one complaint: The hot bar blows. More specifically, the ENTIRE prepared foods section totally sucks. I can find maybe one decent prepared vegan option here on a typical day, and let me emphasize — decent. It’s especially disappointing given that I can find a wide variety of great vegan options — macaroni & cheese, chick’n fried tofu, curry vegetables, tons of desserts — at Whole Foods in Atlanta. Seriously, NYC? I did try an amazing vegan Mexican pizza here once, but they’ve never had it any time I’ve gone since. And there are sometimes vegan chocolate chip cookies in the bakery that are, again — decent. Otherwise, the store is a store — it has a solid selection of vegan grocery items and bath/beauty products for pretty typical prices(except — a lot of the same Alba stuff is cheaper right next door @ TJ Maxx!). The employees are helpful enough and always around but not all up in your face, and even when the checkout lines are long they usually move pretty quick.

This is more of a family spot, since it’s just across the street from school. And many apts around here. Love the salad bar and soup… make me feel a little healthy before I go to frozen yogurt lol

Good quality food, great location, always busy. Went to this location for lunch today. I had a small soup and some items by weight. The total was about $ 10. Expensive, but could be worse. The quality of the food was great. It was fresh and well prepared. This location has a produce section, a coffee shop, a warm and cold bar as well as a desserts to choose from. It also has a sushi corner, a pizza corner and sandwiches. The latest addition is a beer garden inside the store! They also have a microwave for customers to use. There is some seating in the store, but it is always packed. There are lots of people and not enough space for everyone. Need to jump and trip over people to get some food. The lines to pay are super long. If you have less than 5 items, you can pay at the sushi bar. It is quicker. If you like some peace and quiet when you eat — there are other options in the area.

The more I come here, the more I hope that the new WF set to be open in Harlem is not like this one. On the weekends, it’s usually a madhouse with people walking around aimlessly AND determined, which is not a good combination. Also, I just don’t think that they have a great selection of items. My biggest issue is that they don’t carry items that every other WF I’ve been to carries. .. and not bizarre items either. My most recent experience was this weekend. I got two WF gift cards for Christmas — I was so excited!(Yes — I love WFTHAT much.) I came here to replenish my Siggi’s yogurt, flavored honey(which I have every morning), Clif crunchy Peanut Butter bars, and get some Stacy’s bagel chips in «Everything» flavor. Plus do some general WF-only shopping. Siggi’s — They had four flavors(out of the usual 10−12+ flavors); the yogurt was messy and strewn on the shelf, and they had only a few of each flavor. Basically, it looked like these were the leftovers before a new shipment. I asked the guy at the fridge if that was all the Siggi’s they had, and he said yes without even trying to confirm. So, rather than walk out with the 4 yogurts I planned, I walked out with one, and not a great flavor. Honey — I had to dig around the shelf to find the other flavors, which were hidden in the back. I shouldn’t complain because I *did* find the other flavors, but it wasn’t displayed neatly or properly. Clif Crunchy Peanut Butter Bars — Nope. Only had the honey and oats, or maybe it was the chocolate chip. But, they seriously have about 85 different flavors of loose Kind bars. Really?! Do you really have to have this many Kind bars and only ONE flavor of Clif crunchy bars. Stacy’s bagel chips in Everything flavor — Sorry, Jenn, you will NEVER find these if you come to this WF. They have never carried it. I know that I shouldn’t complain because I guess they just don’t order this flavor at this store, but it’s a flavor that is generally difficult to find, but I’ve been able to get it only at other WF, except for this one. So, I still think this WF should carry it and continue to hope that I’ll find it here. As I said in my earlier review, I only come here b/c it’s the closest WF to me until they open the one at 125th. But I may have to go to the Union Square WF(or another one) to use my other GF.. . or at least to hold me over until they open the Harlem WF(which I hope will be more like the Paramus or Union Square or Bowery WF).
