Positives: Thorough, affordable, allowed to be put under general anesthesia (for NO additional cost) unlike other places I researched that just provide twilight or local anesthesia (I can’t imagine anyone wanting to be awake for this procedure unless health reasons prohibit general anesthesia, it’s nice to have options). They are also friendly and polite which is nice and helps to ease nerves. (Although everyone in the waiting room did hear two coworkers briefly fighting which was a little unprofessional and weird.)
Negatives: LONG wait time but it was understandable considering how many people were there and the testing that is done before the actual procedure. It’s best to arrive early because on a Friday at 8:30am it was packed and as it got later more people were strolling in and those were the last to leave. I arrived around 8:30 am and left at about 3:45 pm. You are called in back and forth about 3 – 4 times prior to the actual procedure for blood pressure, blood test (slight prick of the finger), sonogram, meeting with a counselor, and then the actual procedure. Because of this the time went by much faster for me but the person you bring along will feel as if they’ve been there all day, so it’s best to bring a book because you will be waiting.
Overall after reading other people’s experiences in other clinics I’m very happy I chose this one. This is a really tough procedure mentally and emotionally and honestly it went as best as it possibly could. I can’t imagine it being any better. I’m relieved and happy.
