All I can say is OXTAIL with kale salad and sweet potato, this place is a blessing but do not try the fried fish it may deter u from coming back but everything else is amazing the gentleman in the front is a blessing and the young lady in the kitchen is a beautiful talented chef God bless her

I found my favorite Caribbean food restaurant again! A new location but the same great food. I have my all time favorite tonight the oxtails, and they are delicious! If you are looking for good comforting food you must stop here. And grab a juice too they are great too!

Didn’t like it at all. The rice and peas was cold & soggy it took 15min for the food to serve and the jerk chicken was way too dry as if I was eating plastic can. No more returning for me and my bunch of friends.

I really liked this place. I came here all the way from the UWS to try their oxtails, and I was not disappointed. I did not want to eat in a take-out container, so the very friendly staff woman served my food on a regular plate so I could eat at the counter. The place is clean, the staff was very warm and attentive, and the portions were decent. Would definitely return again when the need for a Caribbean food fix strikes again.

These folks are super friendly if you are! They were handing out free watermellon on 4th of July. Oxtail is my fav. This food is good the first bite, then grows on you and by the end of the meal your are in love. As all good home cooking the leftovers taste even better!

I don’t know why this place has such great reviews here. I asked for a curried chicken and, oh well, I could not find the chicken… Just bones! Maybe I was just unlucky, but I did not like it at all. The sides — rice, beans and cabbage were ok though.

One of the best jerk chicken spots I’ve ever had. I also love the ackee and saltfish for breakfast. Didn’t fall head over heals for the roti, but it wasn’t bad. Just not my favorite.

Hidden gem! This a great little spot for those nights you don’t have time to cook lol. The oxtail and yams were really good. The pineapple ginger is a bit sweet but it’s really good(just add ice). This will be a regular spot for me and my family :)

Didn’t even get to taste it… an hour and half later I call to check on the order and I find out the delivery guy disappeared for hours and they don’t know when he’ll be back so no ETA. I offered my phone number when initially placing the order to which the gentleman on the phone declined saying he didn’t need it, even questioned if I would be home to receive the order to which I replied of course… which is why he never called me to let me know that the delivery guy was MIAPISSEDANDSTARVING, I disappointingly had to cancel. I was so looking forward to those raved about oxtails. :(no longer interested. Poor customer service.

Listen, it’s the only place in Harlem now to get decent west indian food. I usually come here maybe once a week. The curry chicken is good, I like their oxtails(only my aunt and cousins is better), oh the ackee and saltfish for breakfast. YES to all of that. They do have patties but to me they are meh, just o.k. I will warn you, to me the jerk chicken is not hot, however it lit my friends mouth on fire(i love spicy foods). Last but not least if you are in the mood for a treat get the curry goat. This dish can be messed up so easily and they do a pretty damn good job at making it great! The prices are reasonable and the staff friendly if not slow on some days. It’s a little taste of home on the days I don’t have time to cook. Trust me you won’t be dissapointed.

I was coming from Westchester County and searched Unilocal for some Caribbean dishes and I saw the great reviews from this spot in Manhattan. I was excited to try a new Caribbean spot since I love the food. I visited on a Tuesday afternoon around 2pm and they didn’t have a lot of options. The guy behind the counter stated they had No mac n cheese, No collards, no Yams come on. I was looking forward to the mac n cheese n yams that the Unilocal reviews raved about. I told the guy it’s really early for yall to be out of so much food and he stated they were still cooking. The guy seemed to look at me like who is this lady questioning me? With it being such a small restaurant I was shocked how many items wasn’t available and this seemed to be a pattern based on reviews of lots of menu items not available. Why offer these items if you can’t maintain the demand for them. If I was to come to this spot again and that’s a strong If, I would definitely call first so you don’t go in there hungry thinking you’re getting something that sounds yummy but they don’t have any more left. I finally settled for the Jerk chicken, rice n peas and cabbage which was pretty good, not the best or worst I’ve had. The amount of food was a little smaller than I am used to but it is what is. If I am in the area and there’s nothing else available I would definitely eat here again, whatever they have available. However, I would not go out of my way to come back for Caribbean food when there are sooo many other places nearby that will have the menu items available.

Oxtail with rice and peas was tasty. Jerk chicken with rice and peas was good too. The jerk chicken is true jerk so have your water handy. The cashier/server was actually pretty nice. The seating is simple but nice lighting. I actually would dine-in in the future. Good food, nice seating area and friendly staff. Overall thumbs up.

I did not see a menu so just ask for a vegetarian plate. For a great price I got delicious food.

The guy at the front(maybe the cook ?) is not the most welcoming person for a place that doesn’t have a menu posted. So be ready to ask«What do you have today? «if you want to know. They actually have all the expected Jamaican dishes. The small Jerk chicken & rice was good. VERY spicy which I really liked. The owner seems to be very nice and descriptive with what is available… the other guy, not so much. This is a good place to pop in if you are in the area. I will come back maybe after I try Tropical Hut

We ordered the medium jerk chicken and the curry goat. The meat on both was super tender but I was expecting more flavor in the curry goat. The jerk chicken was delicious. Beware it is authentic jerk chicken so it is pretty spicy. Both came with rice and cabbage which was just ok imo. The chicken is the real reason for the 3 stars. The restaurant itself is very small and hot. And the cashier left alot to be desired in the customer service area. Maybe he was just aggravated cause it was hot in there?

Heaven is on my plate when I go to this place. Unbelievable collard greens and jerk chicken, the type that would make you want to take the next plane straight to Atlanta. And the goat roti is sensational, so flavorful and spicy. Have to go back to try the candied yams

My favorite place to go for lunch during the work week. I’ve had pretty much everything on the menu except the collard greens because every time I go they are in the middle of making a new batch since everyone raves about them.

Came in at 330 on a Saturday. They were almost out of mac and cheese and were completely out of collard greens(if you love these, I suggest you come early!). Had the veggie patty, chicken patty, curry chicken, stewed chicken, Mac and cheese, Jamaican crème soda and carrot cake. The stewed chicken was amazing! The chicken patty was also delicious. The staff were very nice and patient while I made up my mind what to order and asked a lot of questions. Note: there are 10 chairs total with 2 tables and a short bar(3 of the chairs are there)

Found this amazing little spot based on the Unilocal reviews! The place is pretty small but you can still comfortably sit and enjoy your food. I wanted to order the mac and cheese but they were all out. Instead I ordered the yams, collard greens and bbq chicken. The chicken was delicious! Covered in yummy bbq sauce and super tender. The yams were surprisingly not as syrupy sweet as I expected which made them even better in my opinion. I also decided to be adventurous and try their lemonade since my drinking is strictly limited to water and alcohol. This was a very good decision on my part! The lemonade was soo good that I bought another to go. As a disclaimer I love sugar which is most likely why I loved this lemonade so much. My friend tried it and thought it was too sweet. I also tried my friend’s jerk chicken and it was good but too spicy for me. If you’re into spice then go with that option. Prices here are very reasonable, under $ 20 for two meals and drinks.
