I like that we have the same name. I like that we are both Chinese. I like her idea of East meets West. I identify with her style in many ways.
I came here for Fashion’s Night Out 2011 and I was impressed with the collection. Many of the shirts have Mandarin collars and exquisite knots, but also with a Western twist.
The store was half-​empty as it was still early. I was able to have glass of rose wine, some sushi and chocolate. All on the house. A good tip for FNO 2011 is to go early, and stay west of Broadway and check out all the boutique stores. That’s where all the action tends to be and you will have more than enough to drink and eat, and all for free…

I am an event planner and always need dresses that stand out but are comfortable, so almost all of my formal wear comes from Vivienne Tam. Her designs are beautiful — the cut outs, embroidery, fit, etc — and many of her dress have pockets, which is a big plus in my book!
