This is looong overdue. Held a 30 birthday party for wife with unlimited oysters, meat and cheese plates and beer, wine and prosecco. Service was awesome. Food selection was incredible. Drinks were stiff and poured frequently. Price was very reasonable. Need a party venue? A corporate event? A birthday party venue? Plus… think about all the places nearby to eat and drink… after you eat and drink here. Perfect!

This is a great place to catch up with your buddies after a long day at work. I got to say, the bathroom is really clean.
The oysters were delicious and fresh; there is a menu where you can choose from $ 1-​$ 2.50. We chose the Montauk oysters because of the reviews and I see why they would recommend it because it’s really good!
We (mostly me) were really loud (cause we were catching up) but the waiters didn’t shoot any dirty looks at us so we felt comfortable and they were laid back. Definitely will come back and recommend it to others.

I love love this place! I love their Virgola Prosecco Rose which goes amazing with their fresh, clean, delicious oysters. It’s not noisy, the atmosphere is cozy. I always sit at the bar and it’s either Santi or Sam who takes great care of me. They are wonderful, very attentive, and knowledgeable. This place deserves a 20 star rating! I’m a very hard person to please, lol.

I am a huge Virgola fan. We usually go to their other cozy little location in the West village, but one night I was in the area with a girlfriend and happened to stumble on their new East Vill location! My husband and I decided to go back to the East Village spot last night for our one year anniversary. We love oysters and champagne and this place does those both well.
We had a bottle of the Virgola Prosecco (LOVE) with a couple dozen oysters. This is hands down the best place to try a great variety, they are delicious and always FRESH. Their cheese plate is also amazing and worth getting.
We sat at the bar and Gerald took care great care of us. Service can completely change your experience and lucky for us he made it the very best — he was always smiling, attentive, and super nice. Thanks Gerald!
We will definitely continue to visit this place over and over!

This was our third trip to a Virgola location and it finally hit me that we’ve never left a review. The oysters are amazing. My wife and I take the train 1.5hrs each way from Long Island to eat these. We finally tried the oysters from Capital Oyster and have to say these were some of the best. The oysters are always clean, fresh, and crisp. There is never any shell, and their house prosecco is great. The staff is very friendly and helpful with any questions you may have. My wife and I highly recommend any of the Virgola locations!

Quick bite of oysters with two friends. Fresh and tasty! Nice, tinted atmosphere. Small place with a couple tables and bar area. We tried 5 different oysters that were on the menu of the day. Definitely enjoyed each of the tastes, prefer the juicy tasty ones that taste like the salty, fishy ocean. and with a splash of lemon. Yum

This was my second time here and I was not disappointed. The oysters range from $ 1 to $ 2.50 each. The house prosseco is $ 6 a glass for $ 20 a bottle. They also now have house wine for $ 6 a glass and $ 20 a bottle. The ambiance is perfect for a date night or night out with the girls. The bartender Arianna was incredibly knowledgable on all of the oysters and so friendly! I love it here!

This is Joseph’s second location of Virgola (first is in Greenwich village) and much larger than the first location. Great ambiance. Not too loud not too quiet — perfect for a date night :) The owner is super friendly and Virgola’s oyster selection is the best in NY. Super fresh and can’t beat the price! This is hands down one of my favorite spots in NYC.

The staff was very friendly and the food was also great. We had the Montauk oysters, they were only $ 1. They were great tasty. I wish they had Blue Point oysters though because those are my favorite. Also they didn’t have a great selection of beer. That was a bit disappointing, only a choice of two different types of beer.

Oysters are good and very reasonably priced. But the selection is pretty small — 5⁄6 in all, which would be fine if there wasn’t Upstate just around the corner with over 12 rotating varieties. Service needs a lot of work. Though polite and friendly, the waiters know nothing about oysters other than ‘East coast is saltier’. When asked to describe in more detail, I got ‘all east coast taste similar”. For a place that serves nothing much but oysters, that’s a pretty major oversight.

Tried out Virgola this weekend and would definitely recommend it.
Their oysters are great and probably some of the best in the neighborhood– which says a lot considering Upstate and Mermaid Inn are around the corner.
Their house Prosecco is also really nice, though a touch overpriced.
The only reason I took away one star from my review is their décor is a touch cold. Considering they are in the gorgeous space that used to be the Bourgeois Pig, the new venue is not nearly as warm and inviting as it could be.

So I’m a big fan of the Virgola on Greenwich Ave. Great food and drinks in a sexy space. Obviously great for a date or to just meet a few friends. The new location in the west village may even be better! Why? An amazing bar! This place has all the great features of the original with a little extra space and that terrific bar. Makes it great to just stop in solo or with a group.
Regarding the food, you’re missing out if you just stick to the oysters which are among the best in the city. I particularly like the ceviche and tuna with avocado on the seafood side of things while the Italian meats and cheeses are authentic and delicious. The caprese salad and artichoke in olive oil are standouts as well.

Food: came here for happy hour oysters and was not disappointed. There was one east coast $ 1 oyster and another two for $ 1.50 all were very good quality; also had the tuna tartar which was great, served with avocado. Half priced prosecco, both regular and rose for happy hour
Service: our waiter/​bartender, Roberto was very personable and attentive, no complaints!
Ambience: dark and semi intimate, but spacious… If you’re headed toward the bathroom, you get a glimpse of the open kitchen which is cool
