Brunch was amazing. Rex have awesome service and great convos. We come in from out of town and were treated as if we were regulars. If you’re in the area come by and have a great time

This spot is lowkey one of the best bars in the city. They have an awesome brunch deal– basically $ 30 unlimited drinks and entrée. Rex the bartender is so accommodating and friendly. My friends and I had a great Sunday here. If you are looking for a chill spot for brunch with good deals, definitely come here.

Ummmm this place is hella cute inside. FYI popped in at like 1am on a Wednesday night(or, Thurs morning) and we stumbled upon a dance party happening(that we later learned happens every wed here, FREE, feat. Flashback dance songs, starts at 7p.) and peeps were dancing their BUTTS off. If u love to dance to oldies(think Michael Jackson, the Bee Gees) this parTAY is 4 u. It was like 10 people dancing at that point(’twas the tail end of the evening) but the entire space was buzzing with good energy & fun. We even made friends/exchanged contact info with the folks there. NOTE: we didn’t drink or eat anything, this review is solely about the wed night dance party crowd.

I went for a Comedy Special so I can only speak on that. I will say the staff was kind and polite and were happy to point us out to the downstairs area where the Comedy was at, It was pretty seedy if I can say so myself and I actually like seedy at times. I wanted to try something off the menu but the choices were limited, like bar food limited or something I could probably get from a truck out on the street. Not a bad spot. Ill update if I return.

Came for my birthday to see a comedy show. The show was phenomenal. During the show a waiter came a long to take drink orders, I ordered a vodka with cranberry, got the drink it definitely wasn’t strong and tbh it tasted like a cup of water with cranberry juice, alcohol? I was charged $ 9 for it!!! I met a friend there that night, based on the one and only drink I had, I had no desire to order another one or something off the menu, sorry!

I and my friend were looking for a spot to grab some drink & snack, and came across this place. The beautiful bartender girl was super nice, and friendly. After we had a nice conversation, we found out that we both are Turkish. It was funny part of the night anyway. :) I and my friend had a hard time to pick some appetizer. Ozge, the bartender girl, recommended spinach and cheese dip served w/chips. God damn! That could be the best thing they have! So glad! Thanks Ozge!

Awesome chill spot with some great eats in Greenwich. Not real pretentious, very friendly down to earth staff. Bartender Rex was super attentive and real outgoing guy. May be our new spot in Greenwich.

If you need to laugh– the comedy night– Monday night features some of NYC’s best and brightest including Rachel Green, Craig Fox, plus a great diverse group. Very reasonably priced– and all in all — a very good time…

Visited this place while visiting my daughter at NYU. It’s her local watering hole. The staff were outstanding and accommodated our large group, and treated us very well indeed. I love this place.

The lantern is honestly my favorite bar in the area. The bartenders and staff are very friendly and treat you really well. It’s the perfect mix of bar & dance place. The deals are also amazing! Come here if you get the chance! Also Rex is an awesome bartender!

My boyfriend and I fell in love with this place! For one, Crystal and Rex are very kind, hardworking employees. In all honesty, they provided excellent customer service; probably the best customer service we’ve received in a very long time. We were originally planning on going to Caroll’s Place for brunch but it was entirely too packed so we decided to give this place a try. I am so glad we gave this place a chance, I was not disappointed. It was my boyfriend’s birthday and he definitely enjoyed himself! We are happy to say we will be returning for brunch whenever we get the chance to. So thank you Crystal and Rex, you guys are awesome! PS, the fries are absolutely amazing.

Ahh yes the village latern, back in september, me and two friends had a blast at one of the free comedy shows. It was semi-ok, the act that is. A few corny jokes, but we were drunk so anything the comedian said seemed funny to us. I stumbled here last week after seeing a power happy hour. Apperantly they give $ 1 shots from 6pm-7pm, who wouldn’t take advantage of that? :P I went in, got my 3 shots and chilled a bit. it was good. The reason for that missing 1 star is because of the september visit =/

We were looking for some pre-dinner drinks and ended up at the Village Lantern. We grabbed some seats in the lounge area and ordered some vodka cranberries that ended up being very light on the vodka. Vodka drinks were on special and quite cheap that evening so I wasn’t complaining. Pro Tip — order vodka on the rocks with lime and you’ll actually get a good pour of vodka and a strong drink. The atmosphere was average and the bartenders and servers were friendly. I found service to be spotty at best; our servers seemed to disappear for long periods of time. It was an adequate place to grab some cheap watered down drinks, other than that not much to write about.

A solid place to go to if you’re bored/need to show someone around on a Wednesday night!(Or Mondays!) I go with my girlfriends for karaōke here, and it’s a very lowkey atmosphere without too much party-party, which I enjoy. It’s more like a lounge on the weeknights, and it turns rowdy during weekends. I avoid it during the weekends, but every weeknight I’ve been has been amazing and friendly. The bartenders and waitresses are all friendly and love to make sure you’re having a good time. There’s a lot of camaraderie for those brave souls who go up to sing karaōke. And if you pick a classic, be sure that everyone else is going to sing with you. Drinks are also BOGO on Wednesday nights, which helps me get motivated enough to go here. I ask for the margaritas($ 6, but 2 for $ 6 on Wednesdays) with grenadine so that it’s not as strong, and refreshing. So cute. The chicken and fries basket is also delicious here. They have this golden sauce that they dip fries in, but it’s like this spicy mayo and it’s awesome. Cuts right through the grease of the fries.

Worst experience Ever! I went to this place with a Groupon. This wasn’t the first time I went there. The previous visit was not bad, so yesterday I’ve decided to bring my girl friends there again. We didn’t have to wait to be seated, but waited 20mins for our meals to come out. OK fine we just enjoyed our drinks. This time the food was not so good compare to last time, but OK what could you expect. They charged us a 20% mandatory service fee. Then they charged tax after the 20% service fee, which was not the correct way to do it. We as customers are only responsible to pay tax for the food, not their tip. When we asked why it has to be 20%, she said it was the policy from Groupon and they couldn’t change it. I read the blue print on Groupon, there was no such rule on my voucher. The waitress added«if you don’t pay the amount on the check, I will have to call the police». What??? You have to call the police because we don’t think your service worth 20% and we asked if it was optional. In NYC, 15−18% tip is optional for lunch and dinner. 18−20% for party of over 6 people /large groups only. Well we had no choice but to pay the $ 47.03 check with cash. What’s even better, the waitress said” we don’t accept change(3 cents). What was going on? We felt we were being scammed and insulted, we’ve never had such bad experience before. I am filing a complaint to Groupon. Never come back to this place again.

Spacious seating and right in the NYU area, it was great for a mid-day catch-up session. The front was widely open, and we could feel the summer breeze. The bar was large enough with a good bartender. My drinks weren’t strong enough but it was 4pm on a Friday afternoon. I had the rest of the night to get sh*tfaced– and THAT, I did. The bathroom was a bit creepy, with a communal faucet area. I saw signs about free comedy and karaōke, with specials for every single night of the week. Most bars around this area are disgusting, so I wasn’t expecting much. The floors weren’t sticky and the bar stools were clean — that’s good enough for me around here. Much better than the disgusting 1849.
