I’ve been here 3 times and had massages that turned me into a new woman within one hour… but I’m still not 100% sure this place isn’t one of those happy ending places. I think I’ll just stay blissfully ignorant because I like the masseuses here better than other cheap massage places. Denial…it works!

When I went in, I couldn’t turn my head to the right. 30 minutes later, I can. Basic, serious massage.

I go here once every 2 weeks at least for a 90 min deep tissue massage to get the mind and body connected and ready for the week ahead, If you live around the area I suggest giving this place a chance to show you why they are worth 5 stars –mainly because they are cheaper, give a great massage, and I’ve never once felt unconfortable there! Do what makes you feel good.

So I go here once a week now. I enjoy having Jason do my massage. I’m sure the other ladies might be great. I just haven’t tried them. $ 40 for a 60 minute massage before 3, which is really not a huge savings($ 5), but I find myself scurrying over to make the 3 pm deadline anyway. I know this massage improves my quality of life and any other human that has to interact with me. I am always in a significantly better mood after my massage. They know the exact points to massage. It’s pretty amazing. I know it’s improving my circulation and reducing my stress. I always feel slightly drunk and then energized soon after. They don’t have their hours posted but I called one morning at 7AM and they said they would take me. Yes it’s not a fancy place, the décor is not up to par, some«rooms» are separated by a curtain; but who cares. If you do, then this is not your place. You strip down to your underwear and they massage your upper buttocks most times. Don’t be alarmed. There are some pressure point there too. This is my weekly indulgence!!! Give it a try.

This place is incredible! To respond to some previous comments: it didn’t seem sketchy to me at all. This is definitely not a fancy spa. It is a no-frills, no BS Chinese massage center. It seems like a totally legit operation with hard-working and talented masseuses. Yes, the walls are thin and the rooms have curtains for doors. Yes, the place is small and the waiting room is awkward. But it is authentic and non-pretentious, everyone is friendly and professional, and the massages are the best I’ve had. That, to me, satisfies all the criteria for being a ‘gem’ in the city. I’ll definitely be going back!

Although it may look sketchy from the outside, the massages are amazing! My boyfriend and I have been to expensive spas where we waited weeks for appointments and were disappointed but have been coming here and loving the massages and just made appointments the day before. It’s just $ 45 for 60 mins and if you come before 2pm, it’s $ 40!

This place is 100% sketchy, but they are 100% nice and accommodating. I came in yesterday and asked for a 20 minute foot massage and got exactly that. The guy was good. Not too rough nor too soft. I paid $ 18(before tip) and was pleased. It’s in a cool neighborhood so def check this place out.

Massage with Jason, was really great. he’s very good and very strong and very polite. The place is simple, but not sketchy, and its sanitary, its just very simple. But for the price its such a gem, especially if you don’t want to go down to chintaown bc you are already in the hood. Daytime is 40 $ for a massage, plus 20% tip, thats $ 50 for a great massage, and I’ve paid 100 and gotten less good stuff. Will go again for sure!

I must admit this is my first time in a place like this. It is sketchy but the message is amazing. They know what theyre doing. I felt so relaxed after the one hour massage. At first I didn’t know what to expect coz im used to the fancy, neat, high-end massage centres. It was an experience il share with ppl. I am thinking of going there again! It is cheap like $ 45 for an hour.

So, I’ve been to this location once(there’s another Village Chinese Therapy Center a block away that is staffed by the same people that I’ve been to a dozen or so times). It’s a pretty hit or miss experience, based largely on who you get. I’ve had wonderful massages, and I’ve had massages that made me feel like I was being groped. My 2-star deduction is based entirely on the inconsistency of the service. The place seems sanitary, but looks super sketchy. It is what it is, and doesn’t pretend otherwise. There is little privacy, and if you aren’t comfortable possibly being mostly naked in front of others, this is not the place for you. There were penis shaped silly bands hanging up on one of the coat hooks in the room I got a massage in once, that I think they used to pull my hair back.

Managing expectations is everything. Most of the critical reviews I read seem to be from people uncomfortable with this style of massage place. It is neither skeevy or scary. It is a typical bare bones place where you cannot expect privacy or «peace.» That said, they were great. my therapist was not as consistent with a deep tissue massage as I’d like.(I don’t want the deep work that comes with tensing every other muscle to bear the pain, but I do want the tight spots worked with a strong hand). That said she was far far from those massages with long superficial strokes what barely go beyond the surface of the skin that one can often get at those fancy spas that rely on the high-end design, thick robes, organic snacks and cucumber water. Pros: Nice people: The first chilly day in the city left the room a bit cold and she was lovely when I told her and got a steaming hot towel to warm me up and covered me with an additional towel. It is cheap $ 76(including tax) for 90min Cons specific to the day: 1) too chilly inside &2) they(unintentionally) left the music on a one-song loop which is a bit annoying for a 90 min massage.

They did a great job! After a 2hr massage feel great and they hit lots of spots I had never had other massage places work. I asked him to focus on my shoulders and it was great! I thought the price was right: for a 2hr massage I paid 70 + 15 for tip. Just make sure you’re prepared to strip to your skivvies and get your hair messed up. Massages in general can be sorta awkward, but they’re good about keeping a towel over body parts they aren’t currently working on so that helps with personal comfort. The place is no frills, but gives a great massage! The people are very kind, too.

I walked in and was taken back to a small room. The space is very basic, and I agree with Joshua’s review that it is a bit dingy but not as bad as others have said. The price is great and I gotta tell you, one of the best massages I’ve had(I had the guy that works there I think his name was Ping). The thing I really liked was that he spoke very good english which can be a problem at other Tui Na establishments. He spent the majority of the time on my back and hit trigger points that unfortunately some therapists miss regularly. If I lived in NYC, I’d go here every week.

This place is a little sketchy, but who cares, the price is so cheap. I was coming in after a long tiring weekend in New York, this was just the ticket. The staff were prompt, ran us into a room and got going. I will say the place is a little dingy, not as bad as others have said, but it’s not a relaxing spa by any means, not what I was looking for though. Just a quick massage, get the knots out and then bounce off to other things. I spent 25 dollars and got probably the best back rub I’ve ever had, especially from a lady about half my size, I couldn’t believe how easily she was able to work out the knots in my back. They were very sweet and friendly, I’d go back in a heartbeat. I think it’s cool that they take credit cards.

I am accustomed to spending a minimum of $ 100 on a decent massage but I am a fan of this location. Super cheap, and great quality massages. I have been to other shady, cheap chinese spots and received massages that damaged my body rather then helping it, so I am thrilled to find inexpensive+great quality. 3 stars cause it looks scary and unclean inside.

No, do not expect tinkling fountains, incense, and tasteful décor. This is bare-bones: massage tables separated by curtains. Do expect expert massage and the best foot massage I’ve ever had, all at an affordable rate. I never visit New York without stopping in here. In four years, I’ve never had anything but a superb massage with no hassles.

Talk about awkward. I am still semi-new with receiving massages– I have to for constant back pain lately but I still feel super uncomfortable with some lady straddling me to massage my neck. The whole thing got off to an awkward start as I was led to a massage table behind curtains with loudness of other massages going on inches away, when brilliant me gets undressed and lies down on the wrong end of the table. Apparently I had my head resting where the foot pillow is. The Asian lady comes in and starts laughing hysterically. She can not speak ONE freaking word of English. It took me 5 minutes to understand she was telling me to flip around to the other side of the table. She started to lift me up(naked!!!) with curtain still partly open and her counterparts outside giggling away too. I mean really, this is America — please just learn to speak at least a few words in English. 5 minutes into it she rips off my towel. Exposes my entire bum. I mean really — is this at all necessary? Stick to rubbing my shoulders and back I want to tell her. But I don’t — she can’t understand English, or am I just using that as an excuse because I am too shy to tell her get off my butt– and cover it up! So once I got past the part of my bum having to be exposed as she moved the towel off just 5 minutes into the massage, I started to relax a little bit. But not really. The moaning from the other patron was starting to annoy me and oh, then they opened the door so I could hear all the loud craziness of St. Marks place on a Saturday night. I must say the little lady gave a pretty good massage. And she seemed like a really nice lady after all. She’s got some strength and her roughness I guess did the trick.

Today I’m giving up all snotty comments about St. Marks. Cheap qi gong massage + froyo across the street = deliverance on a stressful weeknight that’s way better for you than going out. Open until 12:30!

I go here when I’m in need of an intensive tui-na session( ) and do not have time to visit my Flushing person or do not need therapeutic treatment. My friend used to be a regular here and did the legwork of finding and referring her«person». I usually stop by and don’t bother calling or making a reservation. Don’t expect a spa-like experience. There are partitions or curtains to section off areas but you’ll still hear people occasionally over the muzak. For me, an effective tui-na massage session is deep and painful — I tell my person to go as heavyhanded as she can unless I indicate otherwise. For a longer massage, they expect you to strip down. You’re covered with a towel most of the time. They also use oil(which they later wipe off with a hot towel). She usually focuses on whatever areas I ask her to. I speak Mandarin so there is no language barrier. I think all of them speak English, some better than others. Make sure you hydrate yourself properly afterwards. 75 min for $ 60.
