If I had to use one word to describe this business, it would be EXCELLENT. The employees and pharmacists are wonderful and the service is great.

I forgot to mention THEYDELIVER! So when you have the flu and can’t get out of bed to go get your medicine, a friendly delivery person will bring it to your door. That is worth more than gold when I am sick!

Great pharmacy. The pharmacists are top notch, and always take care of any special requests. Their products beyond prescription are high quality, and very well priced. I didn’t know how good I had it until I was forced to use mail order via CVS Caremark Specialty Pharmacy. CVS mailorder is an absolute gong show. I still get everything else from the Village Apothecary, and now have an extra appreciation for the quality of service I get here.

Why support the bad chain stores when Village Apothecary is in the neighborhood? It is GOOD. The pharmacists are PART of the neighborhood. They care about their neighbors. I have watched them repeatedly and continue to be glad I have this store in my neighborhood. They bend over backwards to help make sure that they meet the specific needs that the neighborhood has. They do not believe in the one size fits all mentality. What a breath of fresh air. Support them or lose them. It is that simple.

Love this old-school neighborhood drugstore where I can fill my ‘scripts, stock up on new Essie colors, and browse esoteric imported Egyptian complexion soaps. The staff is genuinely friendly too. I try to go this mood-lifting spot rather than the bummer-inducing chain drugstores whenever I can.

Every single person working here is nice and helpful — that alone is worth 5 stars. With a place like the Village Apothecary, you should never, EVER have to get your scripts filled by the uncaring, unorganized people at Duane Reade or Rite Aid. They deliver, they fill everything FAST, and know this business like the back of their hand. I only ever go to Village Apothecary or Chopin Chemists for my scripts now. It will make you happy to support a cool local business like this!

Village Apothecary is something else. Everytime I go here, I expect the apothecary from«Romeo and Juliet» to come out and give me a potion so I can pretend to die for an hour and be awakened by my love. But alas, that will not happen here. This is an old-school pharmacy. That its called«Village Apothecary» makes it even cooler. It’s not so old school that they have a soda fountain counter. I WISH they had a soda fountain counter. It’s a no-nonsense, straight up pharmacy. You’ll find medicines, cosmetics, some candy, and thats about it. If you want toilet paper, goto Duane Reade for that. If you want to conduct business with a local flavor, then goto Village Apothecary. And yes, they do deliver.

Village Apothecary is a throwback to the old days and in most cases that’s not a good thing — but it is here. They’ve got all kinds of cosmetics and the pharmacy people are really cool — plus they deliver. This is a small neighborhood business — the kind that is rapidly disappearing off the face of neighborhoods all over this country, to be replaced by huge, fluorescent-lit nightmares like Rite Aide or Duane Reade. For that reason alone VA is worth coming to but once you’re here you’ll discover so many more.

How can you resist a place with apothecary in its name? This tiny pharmacy has nothing but drugs and cosmetics – it’s great. No long lines like at Duane Reade or Rite Aid. No three hour wait. Nothing sucks more than a flippant counter person when you have a raging fever so I go to the Village Apothecary where they take good care of you. Oh, and if you’re too sick to make it there, they deliver!
