Turkish Coffee, strong and bold. Some mornings a regular cup of coffee just won’t cut it so I walk over here. Turkish Coffee is really very similar to Greek coffee… Actually I can’t tell the difference, nor do I really care honestly. I know it’s just delicious and strong and exactly what I need for those mornings when I’m really not in the mood to put up with anyone’s crap… And as evidenced by my check ins here you’ll see that’s almost every morning, LOL… I laugh but I’m dead serious… I’m soooo not the one most days. The guys that run this cart are really cool. Note that the Turkish Coffee is now $ 3, not the $ 2.50 shown in the photo. I need to take a new picture. They also have regular coffee hot or iced, and pastries and rolls and donuts and other typical coffee cart stuff. The only negative is that it’s on Wall Street… So be careful because you might get bum rushed by power ties, pencil skirts and groups of tourists or out of town school trips 100 people deep. I find if you give them a «friendly» reminder to watch where the hell they’re going and remember their manners it straightens people out. You know, everyone comes here from elsewhere to «live the dream» and they often forget this is an actual city with actual real live people, and not their own personal playground. Other than that come over here and check them out sometime. You’ll enjoy it.

So glad I found cheap/delicious/accessible Turkish coffee near work! Today was my first day trying it out so I will update with more pictures and information as my friendship(obsession?) with the cart guy progresses. NOTE: This just looks like your run-of-the-mill coffee/pastry cart, save for the handwritten signs advertising Turkish coffee. It’s on the northwest corner of Wall Street and Pearl Street. For $ 2.50 you get freshly-made Turkish coffee(only one size available– what I believe is a 12-ounce cup that was filled about three-fourths of the way) with your choice of sweetener and milk/cream. I like mine black, maybe with a little sugar… Turkish coffee is so smooth though that you really don’t need to add much of anything in my opinion. Would have preferred a little more sludge at the bottom of mine because that’s my favorite part, but I’m weird like that. I imagine it’s not a common request. The cart also appeared to have the standard selection of pastries, bottled beverages, etc. but I’ll update if I notice anything out of the ordinary. I think there was a sign advertising baklava but I didn’t look to see if they actually had it. Love Truck, you’ve got some competition brewing! *Update* And he’s honest! One of my coworkers walked away without taking their change, and the coffee guy called him back!
