Tosini Shoes

For those of you that thought you had to be either a woman or a gay man to be a shoe whore, here is proof that an educated, refined, cultured, well read/​traveled, attractive/​confident and single (notice how I threw that in there…) modern man, can just lose it for good footwear.
For those of you that are in the know, 8Th St. in the Village is Mecca for shoe shopping and leather (purses, belts, accessories as well as leather pants, jackets/​coats and of course fragrance). The shop owners will actually let you barter on the price! (Only in New York!)
I first set foot in Tosini in June of 1999. I was working a promotion for Procter and Gamble entitled Pantene: Love your hair 99. I work in the field of promotional marketing and as such I travel frequently. I had just finished a big bowl of Pad Thai and decided to leave the company of my coworker Andy so that I could do some shopping. I headed east down 8Th St. heading toward MacDougal St. There were windows upon windows of amazing shoes. I was in heaven! I could have kissed the shoe gods! I was in and out of at least a half dozen stores or so before I found THE pair sitting perfectly center in the window of Tosini! As I entered the store there was the orgasmic scent of good Italian leather! I was in pure bliss! The shoes turned out to be Byblos and they were amazing! Soft supple suede, semi/​square-​toed, amazing piping and stitching. I thought to myself, and may have even said aloud, «I must have these shoes!». SO, I purchased them, a steal at $ 144 dollars, and took a card from Angelo the clerk, promising to return on future trips to New York to add to my collection.
I now own eleven pairs of shoes that were purchased at tosini and I love every single pair. I made sure that the styles are all classic and will not date as quickly as some of the styles «of the moment».
I realize that some guys may not understand this business of shoes in the slightest and that is OK, I don’t want to change the breeder in you, but as for me… when it comes to shoes, «what’s a boy to do?».
