Phil is awesome! Cute date spot. Fish tank adds nice ambiance vibe. All staff are super friendly.

Was walking by this place with my BF around 5pm. This wasn’t the first time I actually walked by… but it was the first time I walked in. Since my BF and I just got finished having Chipotle not long ago we hopped on the happy hour deal this place was having. So for $ 5 you can have top shelf Patron Rocca margarita salted or non-salted and they also have karaōke. Anyway, my BF started a tab and we had about 2 – 3 drinks a piece of some very good drinks(waiter knew how to make a margarita) my BF asked if the happy hour was actually over at 7 to our happy alcoholic surprises they have this deal all night well it goes up $ 2 after 7(not bad). We left to run errands and came back around a quarter to 7. And they remembered us. The place is a lounge part that is attached to an hotel. It has this tall gigantic fish tank towards the back a real conversation piece. The wait staff are very nice and welcoming. We ordered like… ummm well you know I actually lost track of how many drinks we ordered now as I am still here lol. My boyfriend and I ended up getting hungry again so we order some wings cause we saw this man eating some wings and from a afar they looked delectable. Well when they came out they were crispy sweet and spicy I’m guessing(teriyaki wings) goodness and came with some ranch or w/e type of sauce and the cleanest celery. Now let me just say they weren’t spicy spicy. But they had a tad lil spice to them. Anyway those wings were the they were the best I have had in NY so far. Let me say though I am really enjoying the whole ambiance of this place. And when I came on Unilocal to do a review there was an option to unlock a free champagne flute. So guess who unlocked that… yep. Who knew Monday’s were this fun and this live. I recommend this place. And I will definitely be back myself.

Great place to have after work drinks on a Monday, The bartender is on point with the margarita special and they are using premium liquor that is patron. The beautiful thing is that there only $ 5 u can’t beat that !!! On top of that if you stay after 7pm there’s karaōke and the drink only goes up by $ 2, not to mention they have food to order and the wings are to die for, I had the teriyaki/barbecue wings awesome !!! The ambience is great and if you bring someone with you, your definitely impressing them by the big fish tank and the candle lit tables with couches. I would definitely come back it feel like your sitting in VIP in every section.

I came here on Wednesday and saw an amazing band(AffinitiNYC). They were full of energy and are very talented. As for Toshi’s, it is a cool, laid back lounge and a great spot for drinks. I’ll be coming back with friends and hopefully we will see the same band!

This place is horribly managed and treats its customers so poorly. Absolutely never go here or plan an event here. I was planning an Alumni event for my university. Quentin, who runs Events Management was kind enough to give us a great deal to support the event. We put down a down deposit 2 months in advance and agreed to give the remaining balance to them before the day of the event. I went to drop off the check 1 day in advance of the event and they said they had given our space away to another party. I rationally argued with them that we had a contract and that this was not fair. They started screaming with me and threatening me. After 4 hours of negotiations, we finally signed another contract to have the Mezzanine level privately instead of the Living Room and access to the penthouse to take pictures. I had been texting Vicky day of the event to make sure everything was okay and she said it was great. I arrived 1 hour in advance of the party starting and all the furniture I asked to be removed had not been. I had to do so myself in my dress and heels. In addition, the outside penthouse furniture was still in plastic and I had to remove it myself. Vicky was no where to be found and did not direct the staff properly to help me. The bartender arrived 15 minutes before the party started and said they had contacted him 30 minutes ago to see if he was available to bartend — again re-emphaizing that nothing is properly coordinated during the event. I asked to sit on one of their stools to check people in and they would not accommodate me. I have never been treated so poorly as a customer. They pride themselves on the amazing bands they bring in. The bands were essentially people screaming the lyrics of oldies hits. I ask the sound person to lower the volume several times, but it was still so loud and hard for people to talk with one another. Later, it was revealed that they gave the Living Room Space the day before our event to another party who was willing to pay more than us, despite that we had a contract. They are a money-hungry, rude organization. Absolutely never go here.

Very cute place. Nice ambiance, great décor. Drinks are good but pricey. So make sure to go to happy hour which ends at 8pm during the week Happy Hour has $ 7 drinks and $ 7 apps Never a cover which is awesome Adorable little dog which belongs to the owner hangs out there too Live music on 1st floor although they really should update their calendar in their site to show happy hour and band set times during the week On the weekends, people actually dance to the bands music. During the week, it’s more laid back. Recommend it for date night or night out with friends. There’s ample seating Gorgeous salt water fish tank. There’s also a rooftop which opens sometime in spring One downer. At the time we went(this past Thursday night), we were advised that they just got a new chef so their menu was going thru changes. I wanted to order some kind of dessert for a friend who was celebrating their bday. But they had nothing to offer. So I had to opt for getting espresso martinis which were very delicious.

Welp, I’m not sure what I expected when I read«Toshi’s Living Room». Looking for dance venues around the area, this popped up… this was much more fancy than we had expected. It really does feel like a penthouse /lounge feeling. Live music was being set up as we arrived on a Friday night around 10:30pm, and it wasn’t crowded at all. We only stay for a short amount of time, but I imagine this place is very relaxed and a good place to actually have a conversation with somebody. Unclear where/when the dancing is…

Eh I’m indifferent to this place. On one hand I like the music they play, the scene is pretty cool but something here seems off. Perhaps it was here when I realized I had gotten old. I realized after coming here with my buddy that I had become that old man. In that 23 year old me would’ve loved this place but now 30 year old me found it just didn’t do it for me. Different strokes for different folks. Anywho if you’re reading my review, give it a try, good music but there’s a decent amount if pretentious loud mouth douchebaggery here. Having dealing with enough of that at home, wasn’t feeling it while on my mini vacation.

It’s alright. Been here twice. Loved it the first time because of the music that the band, Evolution, played(90s r&b, hip hop, top 40s). The next time we went back, the same band was playing, but more Latin-inspired music. Not terrible, but just not my flavor. Couches are also super uncomfortable. Super talented and entertaining band, but the genres vary so it could be hit or miss. Don’t love their cocktails. If you’re going for good drinks, this is not the place.

I love this place. I’ve only been once for my 20 something-ish Birthday party, and I had a great time and was treated very very well. Not to mention that the party band was amazing. they let us reserve the top area and I loved the décor. I cant remember what I ordered(was a really goodtime) but I cant wait to go back there, teh atmosphere is just phenomenal!

We came here completely by accident. We actually had meant to stop into a place down the street but totally thought this was the right spot. Anyways– we decided to get a drink anyways and check it out before we left. Décor is ultra cheesy. I mean, there’s red velvet, a disco ball and a giant aquarium. Need I say more? Service was real awkward and the drink menu is nothing special. I definitely wouldn’t come back here but points for being comfortable and relaxing. Oh– automatic 20% gratuity, heads up.

If I could give this place zero stars I absolutely wouldn’t hesitate to do so. You can read on for this long review if you’d like, or just take my word for it: STAYAWAYANDDONOTTALKTOJONATHANDAVIS. I was all set to host a semi-private event on the rooftop. I had been dealing with Jonathan Davis, the«Director of Happiness»(I should’ve been skeptical from that title), for over a month on my event. Everything was going very smoothly — Jonathan was very responsive, I was all set to be on the outdoor penthouse in a semi-private space. I visited the space, and though the outside of the penthouse wasn’t open at the time, he assured me it would be open by mid-September, assuaging any of my concerns. All of the sudden, two weeks before the event, I’m set to order my appetizers and the Director of Happiness drops off the face of the earth(making me very unhappy). No response to emails, phone calls, or texts, except, a full week later, he writes«I am checking on the Penthouse, it may be under construction.» Okay… wasn’t sure what I was supposed to do with that since I could get no other information out of him. After not hearing anything else for a full 2 days after(despite numerous attempts to get in touch), I walked over to Toshi’s to try to figure out what was going on in-person. Lo and behold, there was the Director of Happiness himself. I cornered him, and he told me I could only have my event on the indoor portion of the Penthouse, and that I’d have to share it with someone else’s party(this is now 4 days before my event; for over 40 days I thought it would be outside). There was now«construction» on the outdoor portion. I expressed my disappointment and concern, especially since I had felt misled that I could have my event on the outdoor penthouse. But there was no offer to comp us or anything for misleading me for so long — in fact, there was not even an apology. He just told me everything would be fine. Well, everything wasn’t fine. When I went to ask several questions a few days later, the Director of Happiness responded in a way that made me even unhappier. Despite reassuring me a few days before that I could have the space at 5PM to set up(as we had settled on over a month before), he said we may not be able to have it at 6(when we had earlier agreed my event was supposed to start) since there would be a wedding leaving that area at that time. I was increasingly uneasy, but there was little I could do since it was now just two days before my event. I almost felt like I was on candid camera everything was going so poorly. Again, no apology or offer of anything to be comped; he told me it would be fine. But it definitely wasn’t! Four hours later, I get an email from the Director of Happiness saying that the penthouse was overbooked and he was CANCELLING all events scheduled to be in that space. Two days before my event, I was left with no venue and I had to figure out where to stick 40 people in less than 48 hours. He volunteered to help me look for another place, but, honestly, who would trust him at that point?! Fortunately I found something on my own in the 11th hour. There are plenty of rooftops in NYC where you can host an event and get treated like a human being in the process. STAYAWAYFROMTHISONE. ITISNOTWORTHTHEFRUSTRATION, ANDNEITHERISTHEDIRECTOROFHAPPINESS.

If you love a slamming DJ, live band/music, cool vibes, people dancing and having fun, then this is the spot for you. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place! It’s always free to get in and that is awesome! Especially with the talent that Toshi has there performing for us. And these people entertain their hearts out for us and we as the audience give them the crazy energy right back that they so rightly deserve. Toshi the owner seems very nice and his dog is just the cutest. Other amenities they have are decent drinks, tasty treats and a rooftop. I must admit that I haven’t been to the rooftop yet. I can’t get past being downstairs in the lounge to make it up to the rooftop. The music and the vibe just sucks me right in that I can’t even leave to explore the rooftop! As I said, if you love music and dancing… GO to Toshi! You won’t regret it!

Very cool bar that has a live band and is an interesting location. When you walk in the bottom floor is a lounge and the top floor is for private parties. It was awesome for the private party and the staff here was great but I don’t think I would come back unless it was for a party again.

I have to say I had a good time here. The service was warm and friendly, the talent of the musicians was really great, and they had some nice cocktails for a decent price range. But it’s just trying oh-so very hard. The décor is trying so hard. The dress code of the employees is trying so hard. The guy making sushi out in front of the band is trying so hard. The CUSTOMERS are trying SOHARD. On a Thursday night in the Flatiron district there is simply no reason at all you need to wear a bandage dress and act like this place is a club. I assume this is because it’s in a hotel, and people from out of town have an idea of what going out in New York should be. But really, just ignore all of that. Settle in on a comfy couch, have a couple of drinks, listen to the music, and have some fun. Dance a little, check out the fish tank, and call it a night. Looks like a great place for a group. The place shut down at midnight on a Thursday.

Im so torn about leaving a bad review. The live music is incredible! 5 star talent! The drinks and the food were great, 5 star. But I just hate when places offer a deal through Unilocal and then act like I am a jerk for using the offer. When I checked in on Unilocal I was offered a free glass of Champagne with another purchase. I was so excited! I showed my waitress and she told me she couldn’t get the drink for me I had to go to the bar and get it for myself. I felt a little weird about that, I have done drink deals before and it was no problem, I was served like any normal customer. We were seated and served our other items but not the free ones? Then… THEN!!! I went to get my flute of Champagne and they gave me Prosecco. Nice trick guys, It made me feel like a real jerk.

Went here yesterday for their penthouse, but when we arrived we find out that the penthouse is under renovation(bummer!!). We had to settle for the main floor bar, which was super tacky! I ordered the lychee drink, which was $ 16 and it was not worth it! I’ve had better lychee drinks. Calamari– blah Nachos– blah Wings– delish! Will not be coming back here!

A classy spot to grab a drink and listen to music in the city. My boyfriend and I were walking by on a Thursday night and intrigued so stopped in without knowing anything about Toshi’s. We were pleasantly surprised by no cover and great music. The night we were there they were also having a book release party. It was busy but we easily grabbed a spot by a standing table in the back and had a great view of the stage. Two Sam Adams cost about $ 17, a little steep in my opinion but it is NYC. Also, we both redeemed the Unilocal check-in deal for a free glass of champagne. Restrooms were clean and not too long of a line even on a busy night.

Seriously the best hamburger I have had in years! Came here on a Friday for dinner, too noisy but the table availability and Malibu Bay Breeze just the way I like it kept me interested. Teriyaki wings were perfect. Hot and crisp! Then came dinner. A hangover burger that was so good. Nice size and good quality in the beef. And did someone say tater tots? Came on the side in a little tin pail. My friends loved the thin crust pizza, the salmon, the nachos and several other items off the menu. Even the coffee was good! Service was good and friendly and I was able to use my Unilocal discount. A win-win for us! Only downfall for me was the noise. Even without a band it’s super loud and you need to yell. I’ll definitely be back but maybe an off time. I heard Thursdays they have bands and it’s worse Awesome food!

Came here last night for a work function. There are two entrances, one in the front on Broadway and the other on the side of the building. We went in on the side and saw that upon entering there seemed to be a private party upon enterting. The private party looked more fun than my work function was by the way. Our event was reserved at the penthouse which is located on the top floor. We pressed PH on the elevator and cruised up to find a super tiny space. When I heard penthouse, I thought there’d be much more room but there wasn’t. If you decide to rent out the penthouse for a private party, I recomm no more than 25 – 30 people. There appeared to be a balcony area but was closed off because it was freezing; it wouldn’t have added that much more depth to the penthouse anyway. Bored with the work party, my girls and I went downstairs to see if we could crash the other party going on on the level floor. We weren’t able to crash it but we managed to get into an area that had couches and a disco ball and managed to enjoy ourselves that way with no staff bothering us. All in all, the space is nice but a little tight and the staff is friendly. Not sure that I would come back here to party though. Nothing particularly special.
