Rude service/​food was ok
Ok, first the good part. For a chain restaurant, the food was pretty good. The portion sizes were family style and again pretty tasty. Buuuuut if I’m in NYC I’d prefer non-​chain. There are so many options. So this would be 3 stars
Ok, here’s the missing star. We were a party of 17. Our plates came out and 5 of us at one end had musty smelling plates. Like they were dried with a musty towel. We kindly asked the waitress for new plates and her response was, «those are the cleanest plates you’re gonna get. That’s just the way our dishwasher soap smells». Um… then why did our appetizer plates not smell ooooor the other 12 people at our table? My cousin disinfected her plate with the lemon from the calamari before she ate. I passed. Maybe I should have washed it myself in the bathroom? Haha

My go-​to Pre-​Show spot.
This place is awesome. I have been coming here regularly since I discovered this place in 2007. I always come here when I feel like it, especially before I’m watching a Broadway show (and sometimes after).
The staff is awesome and super friendly. Open to make recommendations if you don’t know what you want to get. I always get the Tony’s Chicken and the Twin Sirloins and then dabble with everything else on the menu. Their dessert is pretty good too. We got Tiramisu last time and something called the Chocolate Decadence. It was awesome. It was two slices of chocolate cake sandwiching ice cream and berry sauce. I wish they made them in Good Humor sized packages.
Personally, I like it here better than at Carmine’s. Staff is friendlier and it’s not as crowded. Not to mention I like the food better here, that’s not just the result of a long standing bias for this place. And you’re definitely better off coming here rather than the tourist trap Italian places *cough cough* Olive Garden and Buca Di Beppo *cough cough*.
One last thing: the dining is family style and the portions are family sized. And they are BIG family sized portions. Not anything you’d get at Olive Garden family style. Also the more people you bring the more dishes you get to try out. Over Christmas we came here with a group of like 15 people and got to order and try a good amount.

Went yesterday after a matinée. I liked everything about the place. What I was expecting, and I wasn’t disappointed. The placed was packed. We got there at a little before 6 for 6:30 reservations. At this time, I met the manager who also, was welcoming and friendly. In fact, we kidded around a bit. I asked him if it was his voice on the phone when your placed on hold. He asked laughingly, «Eh, what are you insulting me?» The hostess was very friendly, and explained she would calls us within the half-​hour. The bartender was attentive, friendly and worked with a smile. We were called at 6:25, escorted to our table. Within minutes, our waiter came to our table and introduced himself and took our drink order. He too had a great smile, good eye-​to-​eye contact, knew the specials and very friendly. The waiter came by to check on us, without being pushy during our dinner. The manager came by, as well. The busboys, were polite to ask if they could take the plates BEFORE reaching for them. The place is loud, in a NY fun sort of way.
The food was excellent and plentiful! We ordered the Fried calamari. Though it was a bit rubbery, the coating was perfect and served with a «bowl» of a fantastic marinara. We also ordered the mozzarella en corrozza. For entrees, we order the Tony’s DiNapoli chicken, thin slices of breaded chicken breasts, smothered in fresh tomatoes, some onion and garlic. It was «OK». We also ordered the shrimp parm. WOW! Totally enjoyed it. Queenie says, «it’s the best I ever had». We also ordered a side of penne with pomodoro sauce. The pomodoro was fresh and so tasty.
We finished up with Tiramisu (enough for 3 comes in a single order) and «Mini» Cannoli (6 of them equals 1 order!!!)
Despite the calamari, I like this place. Price wise… Well worth it! The service was excellent. The food was flavorful, tasted fresh, and the portions were massive… Family style. Management’s attention to their patrons is superb! For all this, I have no reservations about giving 5 stars.
I’m not a fan of NYC, but if/​when I go back, I will try to visit Tony DiNapoli’s.
I highly recommend Tony’s DiNapoli for fun couples or a group.

Are you kidding me! The best chicken Parmesan I have ever had in my life!!!
I walked in this place and started to drool immediately. You could see all the homemade meatballs, fresh bread and cannolis on all the tables. This is worth the trip to New York just for eating at Tony’s. Absolutely an amazing experience!

My hubby and I split two dishes and it was a TON of food. I made a reservation before we left home so, it was easy to get into and we waited maybe 5 minutes for a table. We never felt rushed. The Sangria I had was good, not the best but decent. I would recommend this to anyone who likes Italian and wants more than Olive Garden but isn’t expecting what you would get in Tuscany.

Went for lunch with a friend and it was delicious. Normally it is more family style but during lunch they have individual size entrees. My friend and I couldn’t decide what we wanted so we ordered 3 entrees. Spaghetti and meatballs, Tony’s chicken, and penne alla vodka. Everything was so delicious. We hardly made a dent in any of it (our eyes were bigger than our stomachs) but the food was excellent and very fresh. Service was very quick which is perfect for lunch time and the waiter was very nice. I would go back again for lunch or dinner ! Pricing was reasonable. We split the bill and it was $ 30 each for 3 entrees.

The wait was quite long so we ended up snagging a couple seats at the bar but that ended up being a fun, lively experience. The bar tender (Ryan I think) was awesome– super attentive, efficient and willing to chat it up a bit while making drinks.
We started with the zucchini frittas — they were good but the marinara sauce was the real highlight there.
I had a French Martini, my drink of choice wherever I go and it was definitely one of the best I’ve ever had — pricey but strong and delicious.
Dinner we shared the chicken Parm and it was amazing.
Stayed for dessert and coffee — got the Italian Cheesecake — another winner.
Wonderful Italian NYC experience!

I’m split about this location.
On one hand, I’ve gotten delivery from here and been very pleased with the quality of the food.
On the other hand, I went to the location in person twice and was disappointed in both the service and the food. We got seated in a weird corner of the restaurant close to the bar, and were largely neglected by the waiter. We had to flag him down for just about everything. It seemed like he was much more interested in the large tables who were buying lots to drink… that’s a pretty big turnoff. Not sure I’ll be back after that service.

Omg found this restaurant using help and hallelujah it’s awesome family style place. Sangria ⁵⁄₅ not to mention the mussels fra diavolo and rigatoni bolognese

As picky as I am on Italian food, this was the next best italian eatery to my father’s own restaurants in SF. Be prepared for a lot of food if it’s just two people. It is family style! We ordered the Eggplant Parmesan and their famous rigatoni in pink creamy red sauce. Amazing. Luckily our hotel had a kitchen because we had the rest for lunch the next day. A must visit when you go to NY.

In town for a few days, going to see Aladdin, and trying to find a good restaurant in the see of Time Square Chains. Luckily my friend who lived and worked in the area know about this restaurant, and pointed us to it. Reservation was right on time, nice big round table for 8. We ordered a salad, standard but good fare. For the table we ordered eggplant parm (this was great), a chicken dish (dry) and spaghetti and meatballs (pretty good). We then ordered a few desserts. After a bottle of wine, bill was over $ 100 each… then you remember where you are! Overall good stuff.

An overall great experience and a big shout-​out to Nina and the staff for being so accommodating! Two of us arrived at 6 but had a Broadway show to catch at 7 and after letting Nina know the situation she said she’d put in rush orders for all the food and get us to our show on time.
Note: The portions here are ridiculous if you only have two people but the food was great!
We ordered the calamari appetizer which was perfectly fried and came with a delicious marinara-​esque dipping sauce. But the star of the meal was the black linguine seafood pasta! Looking past the gargantuan portion size, the noodles were delicious and all the seafood was fresh and tasty. The staff members were kind enough to wrap up all the leftovers and have us on our way with enough time to make it to the theater!

Finding a decent pre-​show restaurant in the theater district has got to be one of my all-​time least-​favorite activities. It’s right up there with doing laundry and enduring gynecologist appointments.
But I’d heard good things about Tony’s DiNapoli from you fellow Unilocal people, and to my great relief, it did not disappoint.
We arrived for 5:30 reservations to celebrate my mom’s birthday dinner and had no problem being seated. This space is huge. So many tables, so many people, very theatre district-​y.
Our waiter was kind and helped us choose the rigatoni vodka with mushrooms and the branzino special.
I was a bit skeptical about ordering the branzino, since this spot is more known for its cheesy, saucy dishes. But my mom and grandma are big fish people, so we went for it. And it was actually really delicious! My sister actually said it was the best fish she’d ever had — and she’s a picky eater.
The pasta was on point; absolutely stellar vodka sauce.
For dessert we ordered the ricotta cheesecake (candle in it and all, very cutely done) and it was also super tasty.
Overall, Tony’s DiNapoli is a great spot for a family pre-​show dinner. Would I come back if I weren’t seeing a show? Probably not, but that’s just because I prefer smaller bistro/​wine bar places over big, rowdy spaces. But the food is on point. You won’t be disappointed.

The sangria here is sweet, but not sure how much wine is actually in there. The stuffed mushrooms were ok, but very oily and can’t compare to Olive Garden ones. The entrée portions are huge and, as recommended, we shared between two people. But we still couldn’t finish our chicken parm. The chicken was tender and overall, it was good, but nothing incredibly special. I will advise against getting the tiramisu. It was very soggy, soaked with too much Bailey’s, and inedible.
The service was excellent. The waiter took great care of us. The manager even stopped by the table to check on us and topped up our sangria!

Came here on Christmas day and it was AMAZING!!! One of the best restaurants I’ve tried in NY! The service and food were so on point! I was so impressed.
We had the Shrimp and Artichoke Oreganata, Tony’s Arugula Salad, Linguini with Seafood (marinara) and a few desserts. The Very Berry was cute and came in a martini glass!

We went for lunch, and there were certain menu items that were lunch portion sizes, which worked out for us perfectly! Started with the Prosciutto & Burrata, so delicious! There were some roasted red peppers and olives on the plate, wish they put more of the Crostinis on the plate, but no big deal. I got the Black linguini seafood, my friend go the ravioli. The food came out pretty timely for how busy they were. The pasta was cooked perfectly, great flavor! It was my first time trying black linguini, but I was glad I did! Our server did a great job and got us out without taking too long. Will definitely go back!

Came here as a recommendation from a friend. It was almost impossible to get a reservation or seating from what I hear, but he thankfully made it happen.
We went at 5pm due to a show after, and it was packed already! It’s family style, but since my boyfriend and I have different tastes, we got our own plates anyway and ate what we wanted. Even so and with a bottle of wine, the bill was not outrageous and would’ve been the same at a regular restaurant! If we were doing family style, it would’ve been even cheaper.
I got the gluten free penne with clams (white). Since it was GF, it was penne instead of linguine. The clams were fresh, but I wish there was more sauce to make it tasty. The pasta was overcooked, but hey they have GF! My boyfriend got a special– orecchiette with sausage, tomatoes and broccoli rabe. I tasted the vegetables and the flavor was amazing.
Wine was ok, service great. Atmosphere loud, but nice. Definitely recommend, but for larger groups.

Came here after watching the Lion King which was just across the street from Times Square, I read it on Unilocal as having gluten-​free fare and great service.
Sure enough this Italian restaurant is like a 5 star Michelin Starred spot, it was excellent from the food to the drinks everything was delicious. Walking in it feels like an old vintage Italian house with cool chalkboards on the wall with all the menu items. The servings are pretty big enough for 2 or 3 people so order light, and they also have gluten free pasta which is excellent just inform your server!

If there’s a Tony in Tony’s Di Napoli, he needs to come to LA and open another restaurant. Talk about Italian food, Italian style! This restaurant is a family style establishment with dishes that serve 2 – 3 people. This isn’t ideal for two people because we wanted to try everything on the menu. As we checked in for our reservation and were seated, we were surprised to find out that our waiter was from the same area we were from. He was super friendly and made a bunch of suggestions for us. Because the posted were so large, he offered to ask the kitchen if we can order a few lunch portions in order to try more things on the menu. Those who read my Unilocal reviews know what customer service means to me. This was awesome because we got to order three items from the menu that stood out: penne ala vodka, chicken parmesan, and linguini with seafood.
The penne ala vodka was filled with mushrooms and lots of sauce. The pasta was fresh and the sauce was so creamy. The cream, tomatoes, and vodka came together to create this miracle sauce that I can’t explain. This dish was comfort food at its finest. The chicken parmesan is a must order here. Per the recommendation of our waiter, we ordered the lunch portion of this decedent dish that blew me away. The chicken breast had an amazing crispness to it and the chunky tomato sauce and melted cheeses were the perfect consistency. The flavors were amazing. The linguini with seafood was by far my favorite. The linguini was super fresh and they were not shy with the seafood in the dish. There were tons of jumbo shrimp, clams, mussels, and calamari in the entrée all seasoned and cooked to perfection. The tomato base sauce was not overpowering the seafood and was delicious.
All in all, a great place to dine in Times Square in terms of cost, location, service, and of course food! I loved the energy of the restaurant and its busy-​ness on a Saturday evening.

My group of six had an awesome time at Tony’s on a recent visit to NYC. We didn’t stop raving about it for days. We planned on dining in on a Friday night, so we made sure to make a reservation. We were seated at the lower level. It looked like every other table was occupied by a big group. It was noisy, but we liked the positive energy. Everyone seemed to be having a great dinner, and there was some loud birthday song singing.
Our server was a pleasant fellow who made sure we were taken of. The only funny thing was when he described the portion sizes of the pasta dishes to us, he said they were good for 2 – 3 people. They really were much bigger than that! We ordered a Greek salad, calamari, seafood linguine with lobster, and chicken cacciatore. We ate ourselves to a coma and still had a ton of leftovers!
We all loved the calamari. It was simple, not fancily seasoned, but well done. It had a nice little crunch on the outside and tasted fresh.
The seafood linguine was a huge hit as well, and our favorite part about it was that it had the most generous amount of seafood we’d seen in a pasta dish! It even looked like it had more seafood than pasta, which we didn’t mind at all. The sauce was divine! It had a lot of that yummy, briny seafood juice.
We paid a reasonable price for our huge meal plus a few drinks and coffee!
All in all, not the perfect date spot if you’re going for quiet and intimate, but highly recommended for big, loud groups with a hankering for a delicious family-​style Italian meal!

Nur vier Sterne, da das Restaurant doch sehr laut war.

Les plats sont vraiment énormes, ils sont fait pour etre partagés. Nous avons testé les rigattoni eggplants mozza (aubergine) c’etait bon mais sans plus, c’est vraiment axé sur la quantité moins que la qualité… mais ce n’etait pas mauvais! le dessert ete lui aussi pas mal et copieux. Le coca etais cher par contre 3,25 $ et non refillable. En tout avec les tips nous avons payé $ 47 donc c est raisonnable.

Bön restaurant, plats à partager minimum à 2. Le service est rapide est gentil. Les taxes né sont pas inclus. Je recommande sa change des petits restaurants.

Best veal picatta I have had! Also had great mussels and linguine with clams. Tiramisu tasted very good. Portions are family style, you never leave an Italian’s hungry

Jy suis allée le soir avant le passage d’Irene, tout était fermé et nous né savions pas où aller: et c’est le concierge de l’hôtel qui nous l’a recommandé.
J’ai adoré le concept «familial»: un grand plat pour deux, trois, et voire quatre personnes. Ils font de grands plats de pates ou de gratins vraiment bons et les deux serveuses que l’on a eu étaient vraiment très sympas… j’y suis retournée 3 jours plus tard: et toujours aucune déception.
