We came in for brunch and had accidentally made a reservation for the next day. They showed pity put us on the front of the list for the bar we had a table in 2 minutes. The coffee was fantastic, the biscuits were some of the best I’ve ever had and the drinks were incredible. The bartender was very attentive even though the place was packed. The crowd was great as well. All around amazing.

I had the Nashville hot fried chicken and waffles for lunch. Excellent fried chicken(crispy, tender, and boneless with flavorful seasoning), but the waffles were just okay(a bit flimsy, in my opinion). It comes with chipotle honey and, for $ 2 extra, maple syrup. I did not order the maple syrup but they gave it to me anyway, which I wasn’t thrilled about as I had to pay more for something I barely touched. Service was relatively speedy given the crowd. However, the acoustics in the back room were terrible; I could barely hear my friend who was sitting next to me. So if you’re sensitive to loud places, I’d recommend somewhere else. Overall, it was a very tasty meal in a cute restaurant! I’d go back!

I came to tipsy parson on MLK so they were serving brunch and it was nothing short of great. The menu is filled with interesting brunch options. It was very hard to chose. Come 1pm the place was filled wall to wall. We definitely ordered more food than we could eat but we had to try it all. I opted for a healthier option. The farm stand– which was okay… And my friend got the scone and fried chicken which she couldn’t even finish. The fries were great much better than the deep fried pickles. The service was good too! our server even gave us recommendations for what to do later

I came here with a group for lunch and was not very impressed. I was really excited to try the shrimp and grits but the portion was really small and while it was good — it just wasn’t great. The rest of our group agreed the food was average at best — and didn’t feel the price justified the portion/taste.

The customer service here is pathetic. We had been told that the brunch is good, so three of us went at 11:30am on a sunday. There was no wait, and only a few people sat at the bar. There were many many empty tables. The host offered us seats at the bar or a tiny two top. Basically, there was no one in the place, and we were offered terrible seats. We just left and had a great brunch at CookShop instead.

A quick brunch at this cozy, warm, crowded, all-day Chelsea hangout with antique charm, was a mixed bag. The biscuit bomb, homemade biscuit with cheddar cheese and sausage was just OK. The small ‘lump’ of sausage in the middle of the biscuit was cute, but small and average flavor. The cheddar cheese over top and within was pretty, but did not have a tongue grabbing sharp flavor. The scrambled eggs were light and fluffy, the best thing I had there. The spicy bloody mary was nice and spicy like I love, but coulda used some(more) vodka, and twas quite expensive for basically a tomato juice with hot sauce in it. Other items on the menu and on other’s tables looked interesting, and I’ll give it another shot someday. It’s too quaint not to want to return.

A very solid brunch place, which can get super crazy as the day goes on. Been a few times and never had a bad meal. Love the crispy bacon(how I prefer) and yummy toasts and various egg dishes. Great BLT as well. Always fun cocktails!

Tipsy Parson is a solid place for brunch or dinner. Southern/American food that is pretty heavy on the butter. AKA a perfect place to grab breakfast after a night of drinking. My favorite is «building» your own biscuit by selecting the type of biscuit, toppings, meat, and if you want a piece of fried chicken(of course you do). It’s a bit on the pricey side for what you get, but this is Chelsea. If you grab a solid meal and a drink plan to spend about $ 50 with tax and tip for brunch. The service is usually friendly, and the place has a very homey feel.

Charming little spot We had to sit at the bar but that was fine, had iced delicious coffee and the mushroom toast(we did poached instead of scrambled) and a savory biscuit. I’m only giving 3 stars because it was so overpriced(like $ 18 for avocado toast and charging you for biscuit condiments-shouldn’t you automatically be offered butter) and they put us at the bar claiming to be so busy but so many tables remained open.

Stopped in here last Sunday, cool space pretty mellow and they had Tank 7, so I was fine. Would go back to try the food.

4 stars for the service– seriously warm and friendly. Both the hostess and our waiter were super nice! 4 stars for the atmosphere too– chill vibe, brunch appropriate. 3 stars for the food– avocado toast was pretty good, burger was solid, grits were aiight. The food was decent but nothing that’s gonna blow your mind.

Well isn’t this place just adorable! I think my favorite thing about coming here was the décor. It reminded me of either being in the South at a beautiful plantation home or being at a quaint flat in London. The attention to detail makes for a great ambiance. I had the farm stand. I was trying to eat healthy so I didn’t have the biscuit bomb I really wanted but my friends raved about it. As for what I had, the veggies were fresh and beautiful, and the poached eggs were done perfectly. What else can you ask for? It was a sunny day and this restaurant had a lot of light coming in as well. It’s small but I never felt claustrophobic. My friend handled these brunch plans but I hear you better have a reservation.

I had a fantastic experience at the Tipsy Parson, when I recently visited for brunch [and it’s not just because Chip R. was at the table!] We went crazy and ordered ALL the things, starting with drinks($ 15/piece): the Salisbury shrub is a fun cocktail and made with Cheer wine from NC! The small and eclectic space reminded me of a grandma’s house with the ‘antique’ mismatched flower printed dishes or possibly a prep turned clean hipster that is trying really hard. We started our meal with a biscuit bomb(loaded biscuit with sausage and covered in cheese – $ 9/piece) and deviled eggs(Lord, those were good – $ 6 for three) and I placed an order for the pig in a poke: stone ground grits, andouille sausage, two poached eggs, a mini green salad and delicious grainy toast. My entrée with definitely a favorite of the experience, piping hot and oh so flavorful, with a spicy kick from the sausage. I also tried bites of the chicken and waffles [with a chocolate syrup – i.e. straight dark chocolate] and nothing disappointed. The service was fantastic, while not overly friendly(you’re not in the south anymore!), incredibly attentive. Entrees range from $ 14 to $ 19. Expect to throw down the dough if you’re going all out on this brunch, but it won’t be disappointing. Reservations are a must and honestly, the only downside was the room we were seated in(the back room) was VERY noisy, sound literally ricochets off the walls – no quiet romantic brunch for you but it will be tummy satisfying!

When your Tinder date was born and raised in Louisiana and swears the brunch at Tipsy Parson is the closest to authentic Southern food he’s experienced thus far in New York, you can’t take that with a grain of salt. Very cozy, homey feel. Limited seating for large groups, but the two of us were lucky enough to get squeezed into a comfortable table by the window right away. Menu prices seem a bit inflated, but hey, I wasn’t paying. :P I recommend ordering the Tipsy Parson cocktail with bourbon! it’s the namesake drink for a reason. My BBQ Pulled Pork Spoonbread was fantastic. The meat was very tender and flavorful, served with two fried eggs on top. I had my first experience with corn spoon bread, as well, which was impossibly moist and a texture that reminded me a lot of bread pudding. Would definitely come back just to try their chicken and waffles. ;)

Venturing out for yet another Sunday brunch in the Chelsea area, Chris M. and I found ourselves at Tipsy Parson this time. I’ve heard good things about it and was eager to give this place a go. There’s a bit of Southern flare that goes into Tipsy Parson, I kind of liked that home away from home feeling. We were shown to our table there at the front window(a very small round table, however, very cramped for space and very little space for eating… a bit disappointing). Looking over the menu, there are so many items to tempt you with, a great selection. Drink wise there are the usual suspects for a Sunday brunch but also some cocktails with a twist to them. We opted for the Salisbury Shrub(Chief Gowanus gin, Cheerwine, apple cider shrub, lime, and mint). Giving a nod to Salisbury, NC which is the home of Cheerwine soft drink, this cocktail is a pleasure and very refreshing. The cherry taste of Cheerwine is featured well here, and we ended up with a pitcher. For starters on the eats agenda was what they call the Biscuit Bomb… a buttermilk-chive biscuit stuffed with a house made country sausage and covered with cheesy goodness. It’s a bit much for one person I’d say but good to start your meal off in tasty way. For my entrée, I went for the Buttermilk Pancakes and they were great… I like them a bit smoother in texture but by no means were they anything but good. I enjoyed every bite! Service was a bit frayed and frazzled but kept up ok and tried his best to accommodate us. A nice experience all in all. Bottom line: I enjoyed Sunday brunch at Tipsy Parson. Great food and drinks, that’s the star here. We were a bit cramped for space and service seemed a bit frazzled but other than that, I had a good experience here and would like to visit Tipsy Parson again in the future.

My friend and I decided to grab breakfast there last minute. Meaning we had no reservation or such. When I arrived, they told me that there will be a 45 min wait. And then I noticed folks grabbing tables as they became available. So I seated myself in less than 10 min. So either they have no idea on wait times or they aren’t organized enough to prevent cutting Qs. Regardless, it worked out for me. My friend and I both ended up ordering the farm breakfast which was very good. I have to say that their poached eggs were uneven looking as if some amateur(like me) made me. That’s disappointing since you do expect a certain level of perfection in execution. Regardless the food was good. WE cleaned out plates. Price on the higher side for the quality of food.

My boyfriend and his roommate found this low key Chelsea spot browsing Unilocal for brunch. After having what he called«the best BLT of his life» here with his roommate, my bf insisted I come back with him the next weekend for brunch. We were not able to secure a table on Saturday around noon, all booked for reso’s, but we did grab two seats at the bar. Bartender was super friendly and approachable, he even remembered my boyfriend! We proceeded to order their signature biscuit bomb, shrimp and grits and a BLT(duh!). Biscuit bomb– super savory homemade biscuit with a center filled with housemade sausage and cheddar cheese. Then topped with even more melted cheddar, this is right up my alley as it covers key food groups– meat cheese and bread! Shrimp and grits– really flavorful with a delish almost salsa like red sauce on the rim of the dish to mix with the grits. Would’ve like a bit more cheese in the grits, need a tad of salt or something BLT– thick cut slab bacon on toasted Texas toast served with really yummy skinny French fries. My bf ordered it with avocado spread, it was an awesome man sandwich. Totally understood why he was borderline obsessed with it. The menu had a nice variety, but was a bit on the pricier side for brunch. There was a good crowd and the place really filled up after 1pm so would either make sure you have a reso or try for bar.

Absolutely love Tipsy Parson! The staff is hilarious, the bar is stocked impeccably well, the setting is cozy and the food is delicious. The avocado toast is wonderful, especially because it’s served on their out-of-this-world gluten-free health bread. On the other side of the spectrum is their insane Mac and cheese… Quite possibly the best in the city(my favorite, at least!) Check it out any time of day and don’t miss their great burger and beer special. They also accept Cover, which is an awesome way to help get up and go after a lengthy brunch!

As I embrace my inner Manhattanite while still traipsing out to Brooklyn a few days a week, we walked over for Sunday night supper. It wasn’t packed which I promised my buddy who like me is a born & bred Brooklynite– we think alike. The charm of the rooms here I had forgotten– it was pretty facing the garden and service was pleasing and accommodating. Tipsy’s drinks look amazing one next to us had fresh rosemary– prices are less inviting. Food wise, I had the Duroc pork chop with sugary baked beans and Kim chi like slaw for $ 29. Wow– big juicy, carmelized chop, sweet baked beans, more sweet then smokey and that spicy slaw said PORKTASTIC to me!

E-Scale: 9⁄10 I don’t order anything else except the shrimp and grits. It is down right amazing. Usually people make grits too greasy or bland or salty or whatever. I ate every single bite and wanted more. It is a bit pricey but TOTALLY worth it. If you love grits, you MUST try Tipsy Parson’s!
