Beautiful second story lounge and bar. Staff is friendly but I had to ask for a server to take my order after waiting for 15 minutes. When I received my order of food I had to also ask for silverware and a napkin. Plus is the old fashioned was fantastic and the brown crab toast was amazing, light and refreshing. I probably wouldn’t recommend this place to friends.

I just visited this place during the labor day weekend, a co-worker recommended it andI have to say my experience was not pleasant! First, there is no service you have to stand on what feels like a lunch line just to grab a «block» number, pay for food, go to the bar grab drinks it’s just overwhelming and annoying I would of stayed home if I wanted to serve myself. I then opened up a tab and the bartender who appeared to be HIGHLY inebriated charged my card for drinks I didn’t order, confusing it with someone’s else’s tab! It took what felt like an hour for the manager to defuse the problem-who ALSO seemed slow and weird as if HETOO was under the influence of something! The food is and drinks are overpriced mediocre! I even saw a RAT run into the bush on a SUNDAY mid-day afternoon with children and pets in attendance! I was highly disappointed everyone seemed to be overly concerned with their looks rather than quality service! There are PLENTY other places in the vicinity that I would rather spend my money on! The concept and managment clearly needs to be revised as it is a complete downgrade to the Soho Grand name and brand!

Great décor. Awful drinks, overpriced food with no variety, and the service was non-existent.

Service is terrible. One member of the staff takes your order. Another one takes your order again. No one brings anything. The people that work here are more concerned with being beautiful than helping the customers. We ordered the prix fixe and it actually costs more than if you add up each item individually on the menu. For a party of 10 this added $ 300 to our $ 1200 bill. When we brought this to the attention of the manager he apologized but didn’t offer to deduct it from our bill. The food was mediocre at best. Partly because half of the food came cold — at least 90 minutes after we ordered it. The servers didn’t seem to care and were nice enough to walk away when we tried speaking to them about it. Stay away. Far away from this Yard. There are many other spots in the area that deserve your business.

This was my favorite hang out place this summer so I should’ve reviewed it a lot earlier but I didn’t want anyone to hear about my little hidden, no so hyped up spot… at least not until I was done with it. I had walked by it several times on my way home and it looked kind of warm and inviting but I was hesitant since it also looked kind of small and blah. It is actually a pretty decent size place; you’d think it’s only that little alley way in the front but it has a bigger space on the back with a few cabanas where I chilled several times this summer; the place is simply beautiful! They lit candles next to the cabanas at night which gives it a nice touch. I can’t comment on their mixed drinks menu as we usually got pitchers of sangria(white one was my favorite) and pimm’s cup. They also have buckets of beer if you guys are not too into the summer drinks. Oh and did I mention they also serve food??! win win!!! We had the sliders with some nachos and calamari and everything was very tasty. They have other items on their menu but we didn’t have a chance to try them. The drinks and food are def on the pricier end but this place is worth it. Come here with a group of friends, get a cabana, have a few drinks and relax!

When my wife told me I had to go into NYC, I was expecting some crowded, over dressed, over priced night club, so when I arrived here I was pleasantly surprised because this is more of my scene. I am used to backyard barbeques with lawn furniture and open skies. The sectioned areas was great for our group of friends and I did not feel claustrophobic. Maybe if we had some pizzas then I’d be all set …

This is really more a layout/ambiance review than anything. I came by here for their Bastille Day celebration event, which was on a Saturday afternoon I believe. It was nice, some of the drinks were free and they had a DJ out in the actual«yard» area of the space, and people were just hanging out on a really nice day, enjoying the music and having a good time. The Soho Grand can be kind of a problem when you’re trying to actually get into their events, even if you’re on the list, but once you’re in stuff seems to be cool. I can’t really speak to the service, although many of the complaints here seem to be service related… which really should be unacceptable for a place that is that much money. But it’s a good time and a good space for an outdoor hang out spot… IF you have the cash to afford a drink there on a regular night.

I LOVE staying at the Soho Grand, but this time, we braved Priceline and ended up in Chelsea– I know, life is hard. SO, Eddie and I swooped into NYC at about 10PM on a Thursday, had a quick drink at the hotel roof bar(OMG– MOST embarrassing B&T/PDA situations up there!), and hit the streets. My NY friends are all super serious about work(?), so the only one we could tempt out was, of course, Lili, who slurred«Meet me at the Yard bleahhhhhhhhh», or something like that. Taxi! Super cool outdoor space, STRONG cocktails(typical NYC pricing), and no complaints from these SF boys. GREAT start to a typically unreal, super duper NYC week/end.

I give this place a four based upon its location, its ambiance and the fact that it’s usually not too crowded. The drinks are okay, and certainly aren’t cheap. They have a pretty narrow menu. The service was amateurish. Yes, I really think that’s the best way to describe it. These people were certainly not professional servers but are I’m sure are whoever the hotel management think would look good on their patio. That would seem to be a theme at the Soho grand whose lobby you need to traipse through to go to the bathroom. You’ll notice that it is garishly overdecorated and dark. The yard was clearly an afterthought as the entrance to the hotel from the yard is a fire staircase. The cabanas are nice, they give the place a bit of an LA feeling.

Never has a bar name been more egregiously inappropriate than this one. Go to the Yard expecting anything even remotely green/vegetable-like around you and you’re in for a rude awakening. This place redefines the concept of concrete — it seems to be so pervasive in how this open-door venue is set up that you’d expect to find it in your drinks. Obviously the SoHo Grand opened this place as an afterthought since they had some extra space between the parking lot and the garbage dump, since you’re essentially sandwiched between high-rises and walled in from all other sides — kind of devastating the whole idea of an open-air bar. Expensive and unexceptional drinks and food, too.

So I came here since my friend was having some birthday drinks here and for two cocktails and a beer, the bill was about $ 50. Now, I don’t mind paying a premium for nice things, but this was a little ridiculous. Yeah it’s outside, yeah there’s seating, but you’re pricing yourself above a lot of rooftops in NY with great views. I think I’ll pass on this place whenever I’m footing the bill…

Went there on Thursday for dinner. We were greeted by a very nice host, but it seemed to go downhill from there. I started with the oysters, which came out warm, not chilled. Our dinners(pulled pork and kobe sliders, respectively) were also not hot. The burgers were over-done and the rolls were stale. The one redeeming part of the meal were the french fries. We did not have any drinks this particular evening and the bill still came to $ 92(20% gratuity was automatically included) which was way over-priced for the lackluster food and average service. I’m sure that for drinks, this spot is pretty cool. The atmosphere seems fun and you’re outside, but I would take the walk down to Barolo or one of the many other places on West Broadway to enjoy the outdoors.

Have been here a lot in the past for daytime parties and loved the atmosphere, you can bring your puppers! The drinks were pretty overpriced for a more relaxed outdoor spot though. I recently went here for a private event and it was amazing. Fun music, great cocktails and food. It was amazing, and so much fun. Afterwards continued the party inside the Soho Grand. Love the back room!

I had the ridiculously expensive Margarita that was properly lush worthy. But the Strawberry Mojito… oh my! No comparison ladies and gentlemen, the best strawberry mojito in the world resides here! I was laying down on the table, singing along with the music… trying very hard to avoid climbing all those stairs that would allow me to reach the bathroom. It was quite honestly, the perfect day at the yard for me and puppy. Who by the way, might have enjoyed the mojito more than me!

I’ve never been so appalled by service until this place. It took me over 10 min to get service at the bar. The bartender was a conceided pompass a$$! He kept flipping his hair and flirting w/particular girls. He saw me waving and he saw my boyfriend waving. In fact, he made eye contact w/both us several times and would not come over(we were only a foot away). I had to call another bartender over and he said I should be getting it from the other one. I was furious and started yelling at them saying«how I’ve been trying to get service and but pretty boy over there is ignoring us». So both bartenders just looked at each other and laughed — then got me my order. He laughed!!! I want those bartenders fired! My boyfriend then mentioned it the hostess and she just said«ok» and proceeded to laugh in his face. I assure you, we were not dressed up as clowns for them to laugh in our face. I was so close to throwing a beer can at the bartender: D BTW– if you really must go there. DONOTORDERTHESUMMERMARGARITA! ITISTHEWORSTDRINK I HAVEEVERTASTED. I LET4OTHERPPLTASTEITANDTHEYWEREAPPALLED.

Went here for an old coworker’s goodbye party… Place was pretty cool. The spa-tini was pretty tasty… service seemed pretty legit. I’ve always been a fan of Soho Grand and all it has to offer… so definitely was looking forward to the alley aspect of it. Would come again… and love that it’s dog friendly… my old boss’ pooch roamed freely through us as we all mingled… which was fun for both her and us!

went last night after work on a sunny evening. I guess new yorkers have forgotten about this spot in the alley next to the soho grand because it was not over crowded. it has a great bar and some nice couches in the back. its a relaxing place to sit back and enjoy a drink. I’ll be back.

The Yard is a nicely designed outdoor space with a fabulous cocktail menu. Adjacent to the Soho Grand hotel(which I also love), the space is ergonomically efficient as well as chic and simple. It is a great space for gatherings in the summer and can accommodate decent-sized groups. Although I have not eaten here(I generally try to refrain from doing that in public, du-uuh) the cocktail list is interesting and delicious. We ordered a pitcher of the Pimms Punch which is one of the best drinks I’ve had to date. Not many places serves a Pimms cocktail so to see it on the menu was surprising in itself. This alone — and considering how effing GOOD the cocktail is — will make me come back. My alcoholic self is salivating for one right now as I write this review. Looks like it’s time to bust out the top drawer flask for lunch! Service was attentive and our server was efficient and bubbly. The crowd was attractive, well-dressed and everything you would expect/hope for in this type of environment. In summary the Yard has a great atmosphere, great cocktails and a great crowd. If only the Hudson Library’s crowd would follow suit…

Was there for the Sunday brunch. Best eggs benedict I’ve had in a long time. Service is good or bad depending on who you get as your waitress. We got two, first one was a nightmare. She is SLOW and does not understand the meaning of multi-task. It takes her 10 minutes to bring you one item out of the three you asked for. The other waitress is nice, friendly and quick and loved her. Bottom line, good food, but you take your chances with the service.

My doctor’s vendor wanted to hook me up with his old High School buddy and so he suggested that we all come here for drinks. At first I thought it was going to be inside Soho Grand and not the Yard. Disappointed, since I just not an outdoorsy kind of girl. Plus people are allowed to smoke! Inside Soho Grand it’s more peaceful, quiet and smoke-free but the Yard was noisy and you couldn’t even hear anyone speak over the loud commotion. I ordered my same drink as I always do at Soho Grand — the Tartini, since it’s a fruity and a yummy concotion. When the guy(vendor’s friend) ordered his Jack, the drink came with a bug in it. This kind of thing happens when you get in tune with nature and this is why I hate sitting outside. I think I even got bitten by mosquitoes here! The drinks are good but I just prefer being drinking my fruity cocktails inside Soho Grand and not their Yard!
