I use to work in the news building and really enjoyed my time here. It’s the home of WPIX-TV, help me Howard, PIX11 among other big broadcast names. The News Building itself has much history and you’ll often see many tourist roaming the lobbies, taking selfies with the giant globe and weather instruments etc. I was unaware that it was the model for the Daily Planet building of the first two Superman movies. The exterior of the building is beautifully motiefed and engraved with timeless art. The security is fierce here, so if you are visiting, make sure to follow all the rules and don’t enter where you aren’t suppose to.

Very cool globe in the main lobby — I passed by and you can literally watch the world being cleaned at night(if it were only so easy). Will have to pop by to see more detail later, but this is apparently the world’s largest indoor globe, and under a black domed ceiling. It is both a national and NYC landmark.

As mentioned, this is a cool touristy place as it was seen in Superman. Also, the gigantic globe is cool to see. It is beautifully decorated during the holidays with decked out trees all around.

If you like superman — Christopher Reeve — then you’ll love being in this building. Not only would you recognize the front from the movies, but they have an awesome globe inside. They also have markers noting the distance that spot is from cities throughout the world. It’s still an office tower, but it’s a great place to feel connected to the movies.
