The Madison Room is amazing. Simply stated. I felt like royalty during my dining experience. My guest and I arrived 45 minutes before closing but we were accomodated with no fuss. We were also extremely under dressed for the restaurant and the only ones who seemed to have a problem with it were some of the snobby patrons in the bar. Oh well. They allowed us time to order, recommended menu options. The servers were prompt and friendly without rushing us. The ambiance reminded me of Versailles. The cieling was beautiful and the dining room is filled with art work. They offered us an assortment of breads before dinner –all different types of artisan breads. I ordered the Tiger Lilly cocktail it was citrusy, girly but strong. I recommend it. The food was amazing –expensive but worth it for a special occasion. I had the burger, my date had the salmon. Overall it was worth it. The food was displayed beautifully and it tasted just as good as it looked. I recommend this place for a date or special occasion.

Stunning place. Just beautiful décor, and nice drinks. Yes, it is very pricey. And there are some older people, but I loved the atmosphere. It felt like what the speakeasy places are trying to create, but it felt authentic. Like it was actually a hidden place. Beautiful!

For the past few years I’ve practically been living at this bar(when it was Gilt, now Madison). They’ve re-done the décor and it’s still a pretty classy joint but there’s a couple things I miss. they took out that large gray«art» thing with blue/purple lights behind it. They also took away all the banquettes and added standard tables with chairs. BRINGBACKTHECOUCHES. No couches/plush seating = less people cozying up and making out in the corner(we see you, you sassy minks) which makes for great people watching. It’s still pretty intimate though it took them a few weeks to figure out the lighting — it was so bright! Great cocktails, short wine list. the parmesan bread bites are damn good to nibble on. But they taste better while lounging on couches. tips: free wifi, reserve a table because it can get packed

Landed here by chance because I had gone to the former Gilt bar(now closed) and didn’t get the hype over the old-school elegance. Was walking in through the restricted areas given the renovation project and happened to walk into a beautiful bar-lounge — felt like walking into the 1900s with the elegance, the décor, the dimly lit ambiance, the polished service, the upscale clientele, the potent drinks, the bellini martini and cherub’s cup were both tasty and strong! If you walk to the dining room and try to find the restrooms, there is a secret door/passage and you walk into a speak-easy in the back.
