Boo they never even play sports… Not a sports bar anymore. What’s the point of the TVs???

Does anyone even know if this place is still open? Went by 2 times during the week and closed both times. My friend and I have called over 30 times. We called both numbers on their website and every number we found online. We have left messages on their personal line and even sent an email asking. A bunch of people have Living Social deals that were just sold last week for this place and doesn’t seem like they are open any longer. Until we can eat the food its 1 star from me for not getting back to customers voice-mails or emails. I am 1 hour away from this place so if anyone can let us know if they are still open that would be great.

LAUGHABLE. They have ruined this bar, I used to visit Pour George before and apparently the owner decided to bring on a business partner and rebrand for some reason. The night started out as reading through their extensive wine list of about 30 different items on their menu, however they only carry Prosecco and Rosé. Ha, no reds, no whites, only those two. They don’t plan on adding any more back on the menu, why even have them on the menu? Their beer selection? They were also out of most of the things on the menu, and then after selecting one that they did have? «Sorry, that’s only available by the pitcher.» Are you kidding me? But if you want a good show, the new business partner owner guy will always be seated in the back of the bar with his entourage. I’m guessing he bought into the bar to try and impress someone, but doesn’t know how to run a business. It’s a shame because the interior décor is still the same great décor from Pour George. It’s went from a great date spot to I wouldn’t even go there if the other bars were closed. AVOID.

The service at The Lodge Club is abysmal. In fact, it literally does not exist. When this place was Pour George, the service was inconsistent and unpredictable, but someone would at least come to your table eventually(even if they were unhappy about it). Not here. My friends and I sat at a table for 35 minutes waiting for someone to take our order. The place was almost completely empty(at 7:30−800 on a Saturday night), yet the one server kept walking by us repeatedly despite our efforts to get her attention. I finally asked the bartender to please flag her down and send her over. She came to our table at that point and was completely unapologetic and seemed utterly complacent. Her exact words were, «You want something?» We got up and left at that point. The staff at this place needs training ASAP, and they desperately need a manager on site, especially on a weekend night. I can see why the place was completely empty while every other bar and restaurant on the block was packed.

Oh man. What a huge disappointment. As a frequent, 2x a week patron of the old Pour George, I am deeply saddened that this is what has come of our beloved bar. Gone are the friendly spirit, unpretentious service, great food, and knowledgeable staff. Gone are the well placed TVs, casual atmosphere, and communal seating. I had my birthday parties here, hosted book clubs here, attended trivia nights here, watched Knicks games here… and now it’s all gone and been replaced by an annoyingly average bar. I came here on a Friday with a large group(we were celebrating a friend visiting from LA) and we were immediately told that we didn’t have a reservation. Now, I know for a fact that we called and reconfirmed our reservation at least twice. But nope. They made it seem like a huge deal since we had a group of 10. After some conversation, they said we could be seated in the back room… which, to our surprise, was completely EMPTY. –Tried to make conversation as hostess and asked if it was still the same owner… her reply was that she has no idea what was here before. :( –The water glasses that they placed at our table were completely covered with dishwasher stains. –I asked for a Stella and they thought I said soda, then cava. Probably because the music was obnoxiously loud that no one could hear each other. Due to being completely parched since we didn’t want to drink the water out of sketchy glasses, we left after eating some apps and having 2 rounds of drinks. Went next door to Burger Joint and wished we had started our night there.

Pour George has had a facelift! This place is cool and happening, the booze got a lot cheaper and the crowd much younger and yippier. Cool new-old spot with a gourmet looking menu for late bites and drinks!

THEWORST. Went on Halloween night. First off was the $ 20 cover for nothing. That kept the place empty. On one of the busiest nights of the year in the neighborhood. The dj was absolutely awful playing crap old and dated music but she thought she was hot shit with her antique macbook. They had to lower the cover to $ 10 and that still did not help get people in the door. Let’s move on to the drinks… terrible and overpriced. Mixed drinks were watered down and tasteless. Neat drinks were light pours not the industry standard. Had to call them out on the light pour twice. They ran out of all bourbon and whiskeys. The place had maybe 20 people. They only had 1 type of gin. The only way to get a good drink is to order a bottle of beer it’s sealed and they can’t screw it up if they have it. Of the 10 or so bottles they had on display they were out of a few of them… Now the bland overpriced food. No flavor and way overpriced for a neighborhood bar. Small portions too. Bartenders were somewhat rude and clueless. No one knew the WiFi password. If you are asking why I stayed so long the party I was with got there early before the cover. But at 12 am on Halloween night a half block from the parade and you can only managed to get in less than 50 people you screwed the pooch on that night. The good news at their prices poor service and bad drinks etc this place won’t be around long.

Just at the top of Washington square Park — The. Lodge club is a special little Paradise on a revitalized 8th street West– with an older shoppe frontage — you might mistake this gem of a venue as just a bar with great happy hour specials– ask for the menu and you find an eclectic menu from bangers and mash to an outstanding Truffle Mac n Cheese!!! Candle lit with wood accents — I spent hours here for dinner with friends. Aptly named the Lodge club — a working fireplace — great food and a welcoming staff make this my favorite new NYC find in a while . Helmed by the Internationally notorious Terry Casey you know the Music is going to be great — did I tell you there is a Dance floor and full Dj booth?

This establishment just took over Pour George gastropub, and has been renamed the Lodge Club. This was unbeknownst to my boyfriend and I when we first walked in, we were simply looking for a happy hour spot after we realized Arts and Crafts bar around the corner was closed for a Unilocal elite event. The Pros: First of all, it does have a happy hour — until 7 pm. There were $ 4 well drinks and $ 4 Brooklyn Octoberfest. Great. The interior of the restaurant seems clean. Plenty of candles and dark wood, so it felt inviting in there. The Cons: We found it odd that the place was empty at 6:45 pm. Besides my boyfriend and I, there were probably 6 other people in the whole bar, despite the fact that it had decent happy hour specials and a cozy dark interior. Perhaps this was due to the fact that the bar just changed hands — people aren’t aware that it’s open for business? There was one staff member for the entire bar and restaurant. This poor woman had to do all of the bar tending duties, as well as serve the two tables of people. She seemed pretty surprised that a man walked out on his tab at the bar(the only other patron sitting at the bar with my bf and me at the time). But obviously, she wasn’t being very attentive because she was spread so thin over the entire restaurant, and the man could probably sense this weakness. In fact, she didn’t notice he was gone for a good five minutes. I was adamant that we order the $ 15 crab dip. I have a weakness for a good crab dip, so I tend to order it whenever I see it on a menu, even if it is overpriced. When the crab dip arrived, we were slightly surprised/disappointed to see that it only came with four tiny slices of baguette bread. This was a decent amount of crab dip — it was tasty, if a little liquidy — and there was no way it could be finished with just four small slices of bread. We managed to get through half of the dip before we asked if we could have some more bread to finish the rest of it. The bartender/waitress/food-server woman said yes, she brought us more 4 more tiny slices of bread, and we finished the dip as best we could. So imagine our surprise when we get our tab and see that there is an extra $ 2 charge added to the check. For bread. I couldn’t believe this. Now I could understand if they charged us extra for bread, if there was a huge bread basket to begin with. But how can they expect anyone to eat crab dip with only 4 tiny slices of bread??? That’s like a mexican restaurant bringing you your $ 10 guacamole and only bringing you 4 chips, then charging extra for chips! Did they expect us to eat the crab dip with a fork? And why didn’t the bartender tell us about the charge when we ordered the bread, instead of just assuming we would be okay with it? When asked about the extra charge, the bartender was completely unapologetic, and gave me attitude/sarcasm: «Well the kitchen is insisting we charge for food now.» Anyways, I probably won’t be returning here. If you are just looking to drink, this might be a good spot to come for happy hour, if you can deal with slower service…
