I have such mixed feelings on The Juice Shop. But they all boil down to «meh,» so I’m giving two stars. I am happy that they are open, because they provide some healthy alternatives in the area. Situated next to a Tres Carnes, Juice Shop really makes you question you life decisions for lunch. On the other hand, for a place serving smoothies and bowls — where you just throw everything together, no cooking required — it takes SO F-ING LONG to get anything. You can’t even«pop in to buy a juice» without giving up at least 5 minutes of your precious time. There are so many people who work here, and for some reason the service is still slow and terrible. Honestly, I pass unless I’m just dying for a smoothie and have 20 minutes to kill.

I used to love coming here but the quality of service and food prep has gone down 100%. They consistently mess up orders on smoothies and bowls. Charge lots of $ and give you very little for it. I just tried to order a bowl of the tokyo fresh and they charged me for the salmon, gave me a tiny scoop of it and then added corn which I didnt order. The bowl wasnt closed leaked everywhere and was cold by the time I got to my desk which was only a few minutes. AVOIDAVOID

This place used to be so fantastic — the greek kale salad was a lunch standby for me when I worked close to the Flatiron location. I was in the neighborhood of the midtown location today so I was psyched to be in close proximity to my favorite salad. Ummm… not so much. Today I had to throw out the salad about 5 bites in because the kale was so wilted, bitter, and odd-tasting that I was worried it might not be safe to eat. It’s not really worth my time to call and complain about a $ 9 salad(it’s 20 blocks from my office, so it’s unlikely I’ll be back unless I find myself in the area) — but still, what a bummer!

Ordered through Seamless at 6:56pm(estimated delivery time 60 – 75 minutes). Someone called me at 7:08 to explain that they were out of one of the juices I ordered, so they replaced it with another juice of my choice. I called 8:05 to check on delivery, and they said delivery man had already left with 4 other orders. It is now 9:14pm, and … nothing. No one is picking up the phone anymore. Pretty pissed to be waiting around at the office on a Wednesday night for 3 pre-made bottled juices that I ordered 2 hours and 20 minutes ago. Get your delivery system together, Juice Shop.

This is MIDTOWN. You guys have GOT to pick up the pace. Hire more workers, SOMETHING. It’s ridiculous to wait 25 minutes for an acai bowl after peak lunch hours. Which tastes great, by the way. But I’m not coming back if I have to wait that long. There are plenty of other juice places that can do this right.

Terrible service. Placed an order online and waited 1.5hrs for a bowl. Guy told me they were busy.

Good food, horrible customer service. I ordered a pickup on Seamless, and after grabbing it and getting back to my office I realized there was no chicken(that I paid an extra $ 2 for). I called the restaurant and was told I didn’t order chicken(although it was on my seamless receipt and my juice shop receipt that came with my meal). Finally the manager told me I could get free chicken the next time I came(?). I said no, and he asked«What do you want me to do then?». I told him they needed to deliver it as I already paid for it. He said ok that it would come within 10 minutes. Came 35 minutes later. The delivery guy was nice!

Small spot in busy area. I had the Mr. Almond smoothie. It was very good and filling. I liked that it had dates instead of a liquid sweetener like agave, and the Himalayan sea salt was a pleasant addition. It was creamy and satisfying. The place was empty when I stopped in on a early Saturday evening, but I can imagine how busy it gets during the weekdays since the area is heavy with corporate offices and shopping.

No matter the times I have come here. They are ALWAYS behind or «short handed» to order a smoothie and get it takes about 15mins. I will not come back Bc it never fails. Super slow service and they never seem to be having a good or pleasant day.

I love the juice shop. I go to the Penn Plaza location every morning 5x a week. This particular location is terrible, they give poor customer service and the wait time is very long. Today for example, I walk in with three associates standing around talking, the manager seemed annoyed that I am bothering her to order an Elvis bowl. When I got the bowl, it barely had anything to it. The bowl was ¼ of the way full and the bananas weren’t ripe. Liquid generation or the juice press seem like better options and are close by.

Stay away from its kale bowls. I got serious food poison from the«green curry» bowl. I doubt this place will pass public health inspection.

The worst customer service ever. I have ordered here about 20 – 25 times, but in the past month or so this place has really gone downhill. Here are just a few examples: 1. I ordered a smoothie and specifically substituted(and paid extra) the pumpkin because I’m allergic. I get there 30 minutes later and my smoothie still isn’t made yet. Finally, when I got it, I didn’t drink it until I got back to work, but THEREWASPUMPKININIT. I broke out into hives immediately. Big big big gigantic red flag if you have allergies, don’t come here. Luckily I am not deathly allergic. 2. Ordered an acai bowl, after waiting 20 minutes with only 1 other customer, realized nobody was making my order. Again, I paid extra for hemp seeds, when I opened it there were no hemp seeds. 3. Ordered delivery and it never came. Called and they apologized, but didn’t even offer to refund! Said they would deliver it «soon» — it came 3 hours later. Bye Felicia.

Unreal!!! This is the best juice/smoothie place I’ve ever been, and I have been to many! I loved the Funkytown smoothie which has espresso beans blended in, adding texture to what would otherwise be a smooth smoothie. It was amazing and energizing. I also tried one of the kale bowls. It was super challenging to choose one because they all sounded delicious!

Loved the Spice Market Bowl with tofu. Super healthy and fills you up. Tiny space with only a few stools so don’t plan to sit and eat if it’s busy. Great value and delicious.

Usually very fresh and delicious! Today, after a long holiday weekend, I ordered the Baja Verde and the Israeli salad must have been a few days old. Got back to the office and tried to call the shop — Impossible!!! For almost $ 11 I expect my salad to be FRESH! Impossible to find their number(seamless and Google have two separate numbers, one digit apart and their web site is down…) All I need is to have my salad replaced and I hope I don’t get sick from that first bite which was nasty! Hopefully someone monitors their Unilocal account better than they do the inventory or phone line.

Strike 2 you’re out. The first time I came here it was busy. They made 3 smoothies for the people who had ordered after me. I returned to the counter and asked for my order. They then started to make it and gave the smoothie to me with no apologies. The second time I visited this place there were no other customers. I placed my order then waited at the center table and answered a text. After I finished the text I noticed that I didn’t hear anything including the whir of a blender. looked up and saw that nobody was making my smoothie so I returned to the cash register. The guy looked behind himself and realized that no one was making my order. He apologized and said that they would make two smoothies. It was a nice gesture but I was going on the subway and carrying two smoothies would have been were rather unwieldy. I would have rather had good service right from the start. I’m disappointed because I rather like their smoothies but it’s not worth the bad service.

In a town where açai bowls are usually an after thought in juice bars rather than a main attraction, the new Juice Shop has 4 açai bowls from which to choose. I was excited as I love açai bowls. I make them regularly at home but sometimes I crave one for lunch so I got the Purple Rain, the berry one without peanut butter or any other weird toppings like chia gel or Himalayan salt to distract me from a good açai. The bowl was substantial with a good amount of the main ingredient, açai but the granola was overwhelming. There were also large hard pieces of granola which were too hard to eat and in fact, could crack a tooth if one were not careful. There were no blueberries to speak of and the banana seemed precut with dark centers.(See my photo). The strawberries were fine. I am not sure if the $ 8.95($ 9.74 with tax) is justified for this experience. In Hawaii, açai bowls are much more common and fresher. I guess my expectations are higher having had some pretty good açai bowls. I did notice though during my 5 minute wait for my order, the salads and food looked intriguing and I would more likely go back for a sandwich or salad before I get another açai bowl.

My boyfriend gets this stuff literally everyday as the start to his morning. He loves it. I like it too but I’m more of a fruity taste type of girl where as these are very«green» tasting(from the ones I’ve tried at least). People in here always seem chipper and are nice. If you have an extra 9 bucks to spend on smoothie, try it.

Recently opened near my office. A welcome addition to the neighborhood. I have tried a few of the cold pressed bottled juices aqnd liked them. I have also tried the smoothies with boosts and found them delicious as well. The main attraction for me though is the kale bowls. Sort of a vegetarian chipotle with meat options. You start with a base of quinoa or brown rice then add kale and you can select from pre-set choices or customize. Avocado, chicken, tofu and shrimp are extra. I have had the spice market twice and that is my fave. 2 types of squash, cauliflower, chickpeas, apricots(dried), and some more veggies that I have forgotten with a morrocan sauce. Filling, tasty and healthy. Not that crowded yet but it seems to be filling up. A breath of fresh air in this area.

Veggie pad thai. Get it! Warm grains topped with cabbage, soybeans, carrots, broccoli and chopped kale along with peanut dressing. Ummmm, yum! This is place was really a welcome surprise since I work in the area and needed something to grab on my break. Such a nice option compared to all the other junky places in the area. I’m definitely coming back for lunch!
