Great lunch special deal and a good variety of offerings! I also like that they have indoor and outdoor seating. I had the veggie sandwich which was delicious and the special comes with a choice from a select list of drinks so I paid it with a glass of wine. The service was good as well so I would definitely recommend!

Returned for the 4th or 5th time this week… the patio out back was open but was unable to get a spot for 4… so we opted to sit inside which was fine… it was right after work, seating was not an issue at all. First the pro: food was again, AMAZING. I had the lobster roll… super fresh, perfectly seasoned — not too much lobster meat, not too little. My friend had her veggie sandwich, which she always gets and we shared the truffle popcorn. Our other friends had an assortment of tacos, because well… TACOTUESDAYS! They said all flavors were delish! My only con this time was that there were only about 3 or 4 beers on the happy hour menu, which was significantly less than prior visits… I ended up getting a beer that was not on the happy hour menu as I didn’t see anything that grabbed my eye. We love the variety of beers offered, and the people next to us were raving about their cocktails(which we have yet to try)!

Beer selection is outstanding however it’s friggin’ expensive for said beers. The place is big, it’s like 3 bars in one. I would definitely prefer to be in the southwest bar but not with more than 2 people. Prices of the food menu have me totally uncentivized. It’s not that it’s expensive, it just doesn’t seem like anything would be substantial enough to share — and I want to share my food at a bar. Would I go back? Only during happy hour. And I’m a slightly miffed I never came here with the Beer Pass. Would recommend for beer geeks.

This should really be 3.5, but obviously it’s not an option. I had wanted to try the Jeffrey for a while, and happily my friends all agreed to make that our brunch destination for today(a Saturday). The place is really cute, nice outdoor space but cozy indoors as well. Drink selection was plentiful, and the food was actually really good also. Why 3 stars, then? I HATE doing this — I really do. I’ve worked in hospitality and I know how difficult it is. But our waitress just wasn’t good. She was fairly inattentive and forgetful, we would ask her for something and receive it 20 minutes later. A friend of mine was trying to order another drink for at least 10 – 15 minutes. And it wasn’t even that busy in there, tables were full of course, but it’s not like it was prime time. Ultimately, upon receiving our bill there were some errors(a charge for something that was incorrect and we had sent back, not honoring happy hour prices for drinks), and also we had asked for some bread, or cheddar instead of American cheese, and there were upcharges. I totally understand that some restaurants upcharge for a different cheese, or charge for bread, but I always like to be informed of it so I can make a fully knowledgeable decision. Ultimately, the Jeffrey was cute and a spot I would probably still recommend to someone who was directly in the neighborhood and needed somewhere to go, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend a more than a couple of blocks trip to it.

Great happy hour spot, despite it being somewhat out of the way. Tons of beers on tap, and the beer+oyster happy hour special is a great deal. Space is somewhat cramped, but I like that there’s an outdoor area for warm weather days. Friendly, attentive service despite it being busy during happy hour.

This place is an affordable, casual lunch spot. My group of four got spacious outdoor seating in the back, which I recommend if you have the option. The lunch special was a straight $ 12 for any meal under the sandwiches, salads, or soup options, and included any eligible drink marked with an asterisk on their menu. The Jeffrey Reubenstein was toasted just right and substantial in size. The rosemary sea salt chips weren’t completely crispy, so it might have been better for me to order the kale salad instead for $ 2 extra. For your included drink, you’re better off getting something like a can of beer than a glass of wine. The Malbec I ordered seemed old. The color was suspiciously brown and the aftertaste coppery. Overall, the meal was not shabby for the price, and I’d go back again.

I really enjoyed going there. Very welcoming bar! The staff was nice and helpful. The waitress made us try few samples of beers to make sure we’ll like our choice. They also offer lots of food appetizers. The pretzel was pretty tasty! I highly recommend this place to hang out with friends and grab a bite!

So I would give the Jeffrey less than 4 stars because of it’s cramped space. But the beer selection alone is worth visiting. Let’s get to the food, the lobster roll spelled«LOBSTAH!» Is not bad. I got baked and ate one and almost had an orgasm. But you want to hear something funny?, The kale salad was incredible. Super crunchy super edible and flavorful to the max. And their Oysters are surprisingly great I mean you wouldn’t expect a «divebar-esque» having good seafood. Going back to the beer selection; they have I believe 20+ beers on tap… They also have a really nice seating area outdoors in the back patio. Which is great for brunch. Now if you’re bringing a date here or your girlfriend or anyone that you want to talk and be able to hear you should probably only come in the daytime. At night it’s a madhouse in there and sometimes it’s a little hard to get waitresses attention, But I digress. Last time I was here my waitress gave us a free drink just for being patient with all of the other customers and of course the drunk crowd.

A pretty lively place, usually crowded and bartenders are awesome! People are always busy, but manage to accommodate customers as best as possible. Cool beer selections, but choose to try their Cheese & Charcuterie Platesarea. They have a manageable and pretty good beer selection though and reasonable price range. Aside from beverages are cool here, they serve delectable food.

Checked out this place on a rainy Sunday afternoon with sisters and brother in laws. We sat in the back where it was more space than the front of the bar. The atmosphere was very casual and laid back. We had coffee and beers. I got the salmon and back dish, not a fan so I ate everyone else’s food :) overall it was a good afternoon dining experience.

Enjoyed some delicious craft beers with the pastrami Reuben and house-made truffle chips. Like the narrow bar vibe and group tables in the back seemed great as well. It’s a bit off the beaten path, which is great as it can maintain a neighborhood-like tavern feel as a result.

I love coming to The Jeffrey with my coworkers after work. It is a perfect meeting point for us since the N, Q, R and 4,5,6 trains are only two blocks away, divine for an Astorian! We always get great service with a smile and wonderful beer recommendations since they have so many listed on the menu. They also have a great happy hour 2 dollars off their wine list and 5 dollar beers(* only)! They have a really cute patio in the back that is perfect when the weather is nice and definitely needs to be reserved since everyone has the same idea to find an outdoors venue when sunshine and good weather peaks. Unfortunately, the weather was not cooperating with us(cold and cloudy) when we came this past Friday to celebrate our last day before our two week teacher vacation, so no outdoor seating for us! Nonetheless, we were happy to stay warm inside although I have to say the strong pungent smell of truffle is something you have to get used to before you’re okay with it. I had the Firestone IPA can to start and then the Smuttynose IPA. I love both as they have the rich, bitter hoppy taste I enjoy in IPA’s. My coworkers and I shared the flavored pretzels which are 3 for $ 14, we had the truffle cheddar, salted, and garlic and parsley. They were all delicious but my favorite thing is the homemade cheese dip it comes with! It is a spicy creamy cheese that leaves you wanting more than the small dipping cup! We were still a bit hungry since we devoured the pretzels so we ordered the black truffle popcorn and the freshly grated parmesan and herb popcorn, two huge bowls only $ 5 each! My goodness they were so delicious we nearly ordered more but stopped ourselves since we knew it was more gluttony than hunger that was leading us towards wanting more. I will definitely keep coming back to this hip, cool, divey and affordable bar that is a great spot to meet up with friends for a fun hang and some great snacks!

Great selection of drinks for after work! Stopped by here and got an upstate. The bartenders and staff were so friendly and welcoming. Ordered the Upstate, that drink is 5 stars alone! It has a strong, bitter taste but it goes down so smoothly. Definitely recommend for any whiskey lovers. Havent checked out the backyard yet, since I came during a winter day. Will come back during the summer to see what the buzz is about.

Great selection of beer!!! I have been a number of times and just haven’t tried HALF of what they have. They should have some sort of competition to see who cam try them all. LOL Fun TINY location with a back yard. I imagine that renting this place out for a party would be fun. The stickers on the wall as you wait for the bathroom are a great distraction… some of them are hilarious.

Bartenders here are on top of their shit! Quite possibly the most attentive service I got at a bar and it was PACKED on a Friday night. I stopped by with a friend to check out their happy hour before our dinner reservation at JoJo. We managed to snag a seat at the bar after waiting about 15 mins. I asked for a glass of white and was given a chardonnay on tap; its usually my least favorite white wine but I actually enjoyed it. My friend told the bartender to surprise her and was given a sweet reddish cocktail I can’t recall the name of. It was yum-o. We then ordered a round of moscow mules which I wasn’t a huge fan of… The ginger force was strong with that one. Although we weren’t charged HH pricing for the wine, I really loved the service we got. Def will be returning! :)

I didn’t have food, but the Reuben Jeffowitz looked great. I ordered a couple of their drafts — the Barrier — Money IPA and the Lord Hobo Boom Sauce IPA — which were both great. They have an awesome selection of beers. The place has some great music… like rock beyond the ages. As we entered the bar, «Shine on your crazy diamond» from Pink Floyd was playing… priceless. The service is friendly and efficient. The bar itself has an appealing cavernous look… very busy. They also have what it looks like a beer garden, obviously closed in winter. Interesting happy hr 11a-7p and 11p-1a with 4 x 5oz beers flights for $ 14. A solid spot.

Gosh. been poppin by the Jeffrey for a few years for unique craft beer/cider and the fantastic meat and cheese plate and $ 1 oysters at happy hour… They make a mean bloody mary as well ;-)… Unique space with a nice backyard located at the foot of the 59th St Bridge. Oh, and awesome coffee in the coffee house part of the space!

Awesome craft beer place. I have tried to his up this spot a few times in the afternoon but its always been super crowded. So I decided to come for a late brunch around 1pm, when it wasn’t crowded and managed to snag a table. If you order any of the brunch items, you can get some beers for $ 5 or a mimosa. Since I am a girl who likes girly drinks, I had the mimosa along with a Croque Monsieur. I usually don’t have high expectations for bar food as some of them have HORRIBLE food, but this place actually had decent food! There are also multiple TV screens for you to watch sports. Bring your man here. If he lkes sports and craft beers, he will be happy here.

Great food! Came on Halloween eve with three friends and we managed to get a high table. I tried the chips and guacamole, bacon wrapped dates, hummus platter, truffle popcorn and arugula salad. Everything was ideal for sharing. The popcorn is a must(and it’s less expensive than at many gastropubs). Plus, the salad was actually pretty big for $ 10! I didn’t drink but my friends loved their craft beers.

Friendly neighborhood place aims to please & gets it right. Creative menu –bears repeating – CREATIVEMENU!!! With affordable price points! !!! I will be back because I have to try some of the beautiful appetizers & other fare. Last evening, My friend & I shared a table near a flat screen TV with two guys who had come in to watch the hockey game & they had drinks & appetizers. They were very friendly, let us share their table. & we enjoyed chatting, too.(Hello A and J) I am not a drinker, but if you drink beer –they’ve got a HUGEVARIETYONTAP; —or any other alcoholic libations —creative bartenders too!!! — -you can say I like this n that & they will CREATE A DRINKFORYOU. Two entrances, almost next to each other. Either one will do. They even have an OUTDOORSEATINGAREAINTHEBACK. At either entrance, Walk in, past the narrow bar area & you will get to the tables in the back. Great appetizer selection so you can have some food with your drinks. SMARTMOVE!!! Great menu so you can come here just for the great food if that is your preference. My friend and I did not drink, we were food only. My friend loved his Roast Beef Sandwich! And I enjoyed the Reuben Jeffowitz – it had pastrami, Gruyère cheese, sauerkraut on marble rye.(I think it had mustard or Russian dressing too). It was DELICIOUS. My only suggestion to the chef would be to cut the slices of pastrami into more bite-size pieces so that I don’t get a full slice coming out of the sandwich in one bite. A yummy good sandwich. The Jeffrey is only a few blocks from Bloomingdale’s – so, come here for the food or the drink, or both. It is East of Bloomies. (Exit Bloomies at Third Ave & East 60th Street, head East on 60th, toward Second Ave – The Jeffrey is on East 60th Street, betwn 2nd&1st Ave. Easy stroll!) So, let’s review: GREATCREATIVEMENU, BEVERAGESTOPLEASEEVERYBODY, FRIENDLY, EFFICIENTSERVICE, INDOORANDOUTDOORSEATING. GREATPRICES! Yes, they have flat screen TVs. NOTE: Everybody is welcome, no attitude here. Very Cool.
