Desi club in the heart of NYC… But terrible music and a sad crowd for a saturday night… we were in a big group and got bottle service… Which ensured we got a vantage point to enjoy the club… But other than that I have nothing positive to say about this place PS: the belly dancer routine was a nice touch and the only highlight ;)

A friend of mine booked her birthday party here through the manager here. Sadly the person turned out not to be a manager just a promoter and didn’t let her know that he didn’t book her party. When we arrived I noticed the décor… very art deco… Definitely nice. Then I noticed the people around and sitting in the posh décor… tourist and old. Then I heard the music. techno… like old bad techno… my poor friend looked like she wanted the floor to swallow her up. I will say the real manager felt so bad and gave use a couple of free shots. definitely nice. But not enough to get me to go back.

The perfect spot to take clients for Happy Hour. First off, this is one classy feeling joint! When you walk in here, you feel like your on MADMEN! Great Art Deco style, and the staff fits right in with that era. It’s a perfect compliment for the building that it resides in. This is one bar in NYC that you can actually have a conversation in, perfect for business. The staff is always great, and after a few times there, they never forget your name. Nice cocktails, a great scotch list, and of course a few good beers on tap. You must order the Truffle Popcorn to pick on while your enjoying your drinks, it is awesome! This place of course gets my recommendation if your in Midtown and looking to wind down.

I stumbled in this bar with my father after persuading him to go to the top of the Empire State Building with the promise of a stiff drink afterwards! I wasn’t expecting much, but found it to be gorgeous. The bar itself is very art deco in its décor, it’s clean and inviting. We sat up at the bar and started chatting to the bar tender. He wasn’t very busy(this was Monday evening at 5.30pm) so I did my favourite trick and asked him to make me something orangey. What he came up with was sublime — a sort of mix between a Bucks Fizz(Mimosa) and an Orange Martini. Sounds odd, but worked really well. We had two drinks there(my father really isn’t very good with heights!) and then went on to Artisanal for supper. It was a lovely experience and I shall definitely be taking other guests there from now on after a trip up the ESB.

overly priced weak drinks with poorly knowledged bartender!!! I thought the place is tiny. No real dance floor, just a bit of an open space infront of the door where the crowd gathered to dance. We ordered a hookah for our group and secured a small corner for ourselves for a little while. But, when we left for 15min to go dance they took the hookah away. The manager said that we’d have to pay again if we wanted another one!!! what kind of BS is that??? The music was good for most part. They even brought out a belly dancer late into the evening. But, would this place be worth a repeat visit??? NOPE!

Also from Hospitality Holdings, I came to this place late last summer on a late Sunday afternoon. So my date and I had the entire place to ourselves. Appearance/Atmosphere: 4 stars. Since we were the only people there I can’t say much about the atmosphere but I will say that it very much seemed like a ‘civilized place to drink’ as their website states. The décor is somewhat retro. I can easily imagine it being used as a location for Mad Men. Drinks: 3.5 stars. Their Bramble was pretty good and I had the Prohibition Punch here also. But it’s pricey and not particularly strong. Here the Punch is served on a large martini glass without ice. And it’s served along with a lot of flair. Accessibility: 4 stars. Very easy to find and very easy to get in. But again, it was a Sunday afternoon. Bottom-line: This place is more about the flair than bespoke cocktails. So if that’s what the occasion calls for then head here.

Keep is simple. Keep it sexy. Order something strong on the rocks and try to relax. Unwind into a world more simple than the one we live in. And remember to take care of your servers, as they will take care of you. Great spot for a after work drink or a cocktail before dinner.
