My favorite breakfast spot, fresh bagels with endless options of spreads. Turkey bacon BLT with a running egg on a flagel is my go to.

The Bagel Mill is your run of the mill bagel shop in the Upper East Side… Haha! In the mornings, they are packed with 20−30-something-year-olds before work, young children having their breakfast with their parents before school, and construction workers. It’s not a particularly clean or well-designed bagel shop, nor is it a Manhattan chain. It’s a local joint that survives solely because of its location.

I come to this place because it is close to my house but they always, always get my order wrong. Which sucks because I often come here a little hung over and there is nothing worse than getting home and seeing that they didn’t put any lox in my bagel, or I asked for a beacon egg and they gave me plain cream cheese. When you do get what you ordered the food is good. But the lack of care for the customer is disappointing.

I’ll keep it short. For bagels that are not great, the price is not worth it. In addition to that, the staff is rude. Overall, would not recommend. Too pricy and has a debit/credit minimum of $ 10, with staff that are all too anxious to charge for every«extra» you might order.

I get bagels here more than half the days of the week. On a scale of Lender’s to Ess-A-Bagel, it’s an 8, which puts it on par with Tal — maybe even a little better… 8.5? And their prices are better than the neighborhood bagel establishments. $ 3.27 for an egg n cheese, and not a puny amount either. I have to force myself to finish it, which isn’t such a big deal since they’re delicious; and then I’m full for a good 4 hours at least. Only reason it’s not 5 stars is because the guys who take the orders can sometimes be a little dopey, like one guy gets transfixed when anything is on the TV, and some of them ignore me when I say ONLY A LITTLE ketchup. I don’t want you to go there though because that’ll increase my wait time. I’m only writing this because they deserve some credit in a neighborhood that’s got almost as many bagel shops as Thai restaurants. Enough with the Thai/Chinese/Sushi joints, two per block. Can we get a bahn mi spot up here please?

I go here regularly because it is convenient for me. I enjoy the food and the employees are always very nice. Two suggestions: keep the AC on when it is hot out, more often than not this summer the shop was sweltering with the doors open. Also, the owners seem to pick and choose when they are cash only — this is bad business and i have seen them lose many customers(and waste food) because of this.

This place truly is lacking many competencies for a nyc bagel joint. The indian ladies behind the counter are rude and dont show any form of customer service. Bagels are mediocre. Environment is even worse. Stay away and spend money elsewhere.

I have the best tip for this place! Credit card machine ALWAYS works!!! They always say it doesn’t work out of being cheap! If you complain though they let you use it! Try it always works! Asian guy behind the counter just lets certain customers use it and when you ask why they let that guy use and you couldn’t he won’t care. Indian lady behind the register rude! The owner of this place should really hire a more competent staff.

Don’t go here. If the food were good I might be able to justify the awful service but to have grainy cream cheese and a stale toasted bagel in NY is just sacrilege. Went here a few days ago, the guy that took my order was flustered and rude(there were 2 other people in the whole place). After he asked me three times what I wanted my wrapped bagel makes its way to the check out and instead of asking me or the guy who made it what it was, the woman at the front decided to unwrap and stick her fingers into the tinfoil to figure it out for herself. Totally unacceptable. Coffee was also had an awful burnt flavor.

When ever I go out for lunch I go here. The bagels are crunchy on the outside and are soft, chewy, and warm in the inside. The cream cheese helping is a lot and I like my cream cheese. My only problem is that most of the time the seats get filled quickly. Some times people take up a 4 person table while they are only a party of one. But that is not in their control.

By far the worst bagel in Yorkville. I moved to the area last year and have tried all the usual suspects. Having lived in the NYC area for the majority of my life I was raised on bagels. These bagels are flat out terrible. Skip this place and hit Bagel Bobs on York or Tal on 86th. I am amazed that a bagel place this awful can survive in NYC. Even their coffee stinks!

I recommended so many friends, co workers and visitors to this place because the breakfast bagels and sandwiches are truly delicious when and if they get your order correct. I recently had so many bad experiences with them, specifically the man who primarily answers the phone for orders and inquiries. Absolutely no sympathy or sense of ownership for their own mistakes. I’m afraid they have lost me for good as a customer as well as the business I provided thru my company as well.

This place is a nightmare. the wait, the«stand wherever you want» line, the incompetent service, messed up orders, stale coffee, below average bagels that taste day old and B rating. I’m not sure how this place stays open. Do yourself a favor and walk the extra block to bagel bobs

In my opinion, the best bagel spot in the Upper East Side. I came here yesterday after having a girls sleep over at my friends house in the area. They have a great selection and they are always super nice. My favorite thing to have is an everything bagel with scallon creamcheese and a cup of coffee. You can also ask for the bagels to get scooped out(no offense to those amoungst the Unilocal community that love doing this but I say if I’m be fat, I’M BEFATALLTHEWAY! No scooped out bagels for me and YES I DOWANTEXTRACREAMCHEESE) Word to the wise, they only TAKECASH here. Come in and sit and enjoy your food.

The customer service I just received from the Delivery Man from this established was rude, reprehensible and totally unacceptable. I ordered through and when the Delivery Man arrived at my front door, the first thing he did was to point to my tip and tell me «C’mon buddy you have to do better than that.» I told him that it was very unprofessional to do that. He responded, «I don’t care.» I then told him I would be contacting his boss and that he would be getting in a lot of trouble. He responded, «Go ahead. Call my boss. I don’t care!» and stormed out of my apartment building. Bagel Mill makes very good food and I order from there often. However, they lost my business for good today. I called the business to follow up and the person I spoke to refused to put me in touch with a manager. Seeing other reviews on Unilocal,it seems this kind of terrible treatment is commonplace at Bagel Mill. Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic on the part of the Delivery Man who served me at 2:30pm on Monday, November 17th. He was a taller, dark-skinned gentleman wearing a hat and a large puffy coat. All I can do is hope management looks at these reviews and holds this person strictly accountable. Done with Bagel Mill for good.

They are the worst. 1) Don’t call me «sweetie» 2) Don’t tell me the credit card machine is broken, when it’s not. Lazy staff. When I complained about the machine being broken, all of a sudden it was«magically fixed». The bagels are terrible, the staff is the worst… Do yourself a favor and go to Tal’s on 86th.

Love this place for breakfast. They had so many bagel choices and so many crème cheese choices, especially lots of low fat crème cheeses. They take your order quickly, it is always correct, and they also have good coffee. The workers seem very happy to serve us, they have a good amount of tables and chairs for you to sit. The prices are reasonable. All in all this is a solid place to go to for breakfast and in the summer the air conditioner is cranking. That’s a plus too.

Just wanted to note that the Bagel Mill has added a salad bar. Had it for the first time today and was very pleased. You get to either invent your own salad or choose from one of the concepts listed on their menu. In either event, they make the salad fresh for you. I am partial to Spinach, Mushrooms, Jalapenos, and Parmesan cheese with Caesar dressing. Highly recommend that everyone give this a chance. I’d like to see this corner of the Bagel Mill survive. The last endeavor of selling Pizza didn’t make it(even though I personally liked their pizza) so hopefully the salad business will be a winner for them. The UES needs a good salad bar, so this is a welcome addition as far as I’m concerned.
