«Thai Sliders» slides in with 4 stars because, while the food is no doubt tasty and a refreshing sight amongst the bleak, corporatized and soulless landscape of FiDi, their namesake food really was average at best. The thai food in a slider is cool, but the actual traditional Thai dishes here are what you really want to spend your«money» on. The food is relatively inexpensive and the staff incredibly friendly, but I wouldn’t slack on the food you name the restaurant after.

Too much confusion around. You would think that they would let you know if there’s a wait time. I’m ok with waiting as long as I know before-hand and not after I’ve placed my order. The padthai itself was good and they are generous with the shrimp. Also a bit too much egg in the padthai for my liking. Overall a bit disappointed that after snaking lines(some ppl cut in line– saying I’m with so-and-so(highly suspect) adding to my anguish) I got food that was alright but nothing to rave about.

I love that there is a fast food option for Thai in the area. I would expect the flavor to be lacking but have been pleasantly surprised by the dishes I have had. My go to is the broad noodles with(white meat) chicken. They give some kind of fried tofu in sauce which is also very good and spicy. The rote wrap things are just ok. The roti is tasty but greasy and there is a bit too much sticky rice inside. It could use more meat, sauce etc. I have not tried the sliders but my coworkers get them all the time and rave about them. They carry steamed dumplings as well that are very good and priced at $ 1/dumpling with no minimum order so it’s nice to be able to get only two or three dumplings on the side. As is the case with most Thai food, it is pretty greasy. The prices are pretty cheap for fidi and they have a nice seating area in the back of the restaurant.

Very nice place right around the corner from South Street Seaport. I tried the sliders and they are, indeed, delicious. The staff is great, too. They do take-out food and if you’d like to stay to eat, the area in the back is very pleasant. Great decoration and design… Even the restroom is a treat!

Food is very delicious. it is difficult to find Thai food in FiDi. I would recommend this place. ambience is okay. but we decide to dine in instead of to-go and we loved the service of staff. Recommended :) :)

This place is alright. The roti was very unique, unlike anything I have every encountered. Naturally, I wanted to know more about it. The owner played dumb and was not interested in providing me with any helpful direction on where it could be found, or even what exactly it was called.

This place is solid for what it is — quick Thai. The deconstructed ingredients for a given meal are in food warmers. Nothing too fancy, and the price is set in fair accordance. The owners are very kind, and offered me a free extra dumpling. I give it three stars because I believe five should be reserved for life-changing experiences, and four for very excellent ones. This place was simply good. If you’re in the mood for fast, inexpensive Thai in Wall Street that’s not overly greasy, I would recommend Thai Sliders & Co.

Nifty place! The front looks empty, but when you walk in and head to the back, there is a dim, cozy space with long bench tables and nooks. It’s a chill place to grab a few drinks and dig into a bowl of noodles or fried rice. I came here after a long work day with a group of coworkers. It was the perfect place to unwind. I got the Thai iced tea with green tea. Not sure I’m a fan, but it was interesting: the green tea leaves a pungent, bitter note at the end that tempers the sweetness. Regular Thai iced tea is perfect as is, so I’d probably not try it again. For food, I got the Hobo Noodles with steamed tofu. The noodles are supposed to be spicy, but nothing a Thai food lover(I’m assuming you are since you’re reading this review) couldn’t handle. The noodles are very tasty, but a bit too heavy on the oil. After I stopped eating it, I could still smell the heaviness of the oil wafting up to my nose like a strong breeze. The steamed tofu helps counter the strong flavors. We also shared the chicken dumplings(steamed) and roti. Both were delicious. I like that the fried rice comes in a container that looks like an old school thermos but cooler. Interesting note: I wouldn’t be surprised if they sourced some of their plates and bowls from Anthropologie. You’ll know what I mean when you see them.

So I’m giving this place 3 stars, but would do 3.5 if I could. The staff is very friendly and attentive. And the food is quick to come out. The chicken pad Thai is good, but a little too salty as I saw from previous Unilocaler’s reviews. But at least the flavor was good. I the dumplings had a sweet sauce which I liked. The chicken slider was just okay, but had to try it cause it is their namesake. Honestly, the chicken slider was my least favorite, but it does seem like a novel item. Also, there is a little seating area in the back which is hidden. It looks like you going into kitchen and i only noticed it after I threw some garbage out. Maybe a sign would be helpful. But at least I know it is there. Will I come back? I will give it another go but try something else.

If you’re in the mood for thai food and work in FiDi, this is a nice place for a quick lunch. The staff is friend and will give you samples of things to try. They have lunch plates available where you can mix and match the offerings behind the counter, or you have the option to order off the menu. While the flavor of the food was good, the noodles are heavily oiled and could be too greasy for some. I could only eat half of the order as a result. The place is known for the sliders, but it was late afternoon, and the sliders were pre-made and in a case, so I passed on those.

Thai Slider and Co. NY Manhattan FiDi 8pm Wednesday 30th March 2016 Four Stars Update The front of restaurant looks closed at night because the lunch counter was broken down. I decided to dine in the back. I started with Tom Yum soup($ 6). It was served piping hot. The broth was perfect combination of spice and citrus. It had 4 pieces of chicken, plenty of mushrooms, and bit of lemongrass, galangal(similar to a ginger root), lime, and chili peppers. I also had the Shrimp Pad Thai. The shrimp were butterflied with their tails still attached. The outside was a bit dry but the inside was tender and moist. The noodles were cooked well and the overall flavor was good. It was more sweet and salty and much less spicy or citrus-y. So it did in fact complement the soup. Service was overall good. The best part was the 10% discount for paying in cash.

I thought this was a little hole in the wall but I was totally wrong. Theres a decent seating area in the back for those who want to dine in. I got the lunch special veggie medium red curry. Meal after tax was all under $ 9. The portion size and price was spot on. I definitely want to try other curries on the menu.

Stopped by here for some quick appetizers. Roti Canai — Roti was pretty good. Sauce was on point. It had some small thin chicken shredded pieces in the sauce. Not the best roti canai as I still think Nyonya’s makes it best. Shrimp Spring Rolls — comes in 4 pieces aka 2 rolls but cut up into 4 pieces. Decent for whats available in FiDi.

This place feels like a hole in the wall but they serve up good food and drinks. The front dining section looks and feels a lot like an average run of the mill restaurant but the back opens up into a larger area decorated to feel like a tin shack complete with a full bar. The menu shows variety and creativity with dishes ranging from sliders(as the name of the establishment suggests) to «hobo» noodles that keep with the tin shack theme. Both of the appetizers that I’ve tried on different occasions(chive cakes and turnip cakes) were phenomenal and highly recommended. The main courses are equally enjoyable and filling. The hobo noodles(aka drunken noodles) pack a decent kick to them so if you’re not into spicy food, hit up something else on the menu. The five spice pork noodles are a soup based noodle with your choice of egg, rice or flat noodles served with slices of melt in your mouth pork belly. Both are great but I preferred the soup noodles on a cold day.

I was craving pad thai after getting back late from work. I came here since I live in the area and it was one of the few places that was still open. I got it to-go and the portion was on the smaller side. That wouldn’t be an issue since I don’t usually eat huge portions, but the flavor was really lacking. It tasted bland and not like pad thai at all. Although the sliders have great reviews, and that’s the name of this place, I don’t think I’ll be back.

Great place to pick up a quick bite. They have ready made standards. I went in wanting Thai fried rice and it was available. They also(as the name suggests) have ready made sliders which I impulsively bought(pork I believe) Both dishes were delirious. My colleague tells me there is a place to sit down for full service in the back. I didn’t notice it, but will definitely look for it in the future.

This place is basically a Panda Express in another form. If you haven’t been to Panda Express, then think of it as an Asian Chipotle. The food is already all laid out, you pick the entrees and sides that you want, pay and go or eat in the seating area. Very similar in style to a food court. I had the garlic pork, which looked much tastier than it actually tasted. The pork was a bit tough, not very juicy despite all the sauce, which by itself was pretty good, and the food was not warm enough in temperature for me. The staff are very friendly. Because I’m so indecisive, one of the workers gave me a sample of the basil chicken sauce for me to have with my rice and garlic pork. There’s also plenty of seating if you want to eat your lunch before returning to the office, and there’s a pretty fair selection of Asian fusion options. I wouldn’t say this place is purely Thai though so don’t lift your expectations up too high. If you’re looking for a filling lunch for ~$ 8, this isn’t a bad option. Not sure I’ll come back regularly as I can get more authentic and cheaper Asian cuisine for lunch via online delivery, but I would be willing to come back to try some of the other things on the menu if someone persuades me to.

Unsure what the craze is about this place. It just tasted like a normal thai restaurant. I had the curries and they weren’t too great — a bit too salty if you ask me. The good mood was already ruined when we didn’t know that there was seating in the back when you first walk in. The staff member said she asked us if we wanted take out or eat in – but my friend and I both did not hear her ask that. We were ordering assuming that we can just eat in the front area, not knowing there was waiting service in the tables in the back. We wanted to sit around, so we had to ask her to change the order to a sit-in. Weird vibes. and weird atmosphere came around and I especially felt guilty about making her change the order. Then it was even more weird when my friend already paid for the«Take out«order and I didn’t … I hope they didn’t spit in my food :) I wasn’t trying to be difficult! But I guess they should make sure people know there is an option to sit in and have waiting service in the back — it is quite hidden. Probably won’t come back here to sit in – eh. weird vibes. weird vibes. It was pretty pricey too. I was hungry the next moment.

I was on my way to Bön Chon on John until I stumbled upon this place. Im not really a fan of Thai food but I am definitely a fan of sliders. The name alone of this place drew me in and I had to try it. I decided to go with the beef slider. Beef, lettuce and some sauce reminiscent of a garlic mayo and a spring roll. I really didn’t like the spring roll too much. The beef slider was definitely better but I wasn’t amazed. The beef was pretty good and I really liked the sauce. The staff was super friendly and the place was packed but I doubt I will return. It was a good try but I think that Id rather keep it pushing to Bön Chon! If you like Thai food you may really love it!
