Overall, an average thai place. My friend and I started with curry puffs, in which they provided three. The curry puff was nice and flaky and full of that curry flavor. We also split a Pad Thai with mock duck and Caramelized Ginger Chicken. The pad thai was the standard pad thai. The Caramelized Ginger with chicken was good but nothing overly special. It had a good ginger taste and everything was very flavorful. We also made it in time for happy hour in which I got the lychee mojito. It tasted more like a lychee martini but it was still good. It had two pieces of lychee in it which was great.

We arrived today during prime dinner time, and found it surprisingly empty except for one occupied table. I figured it’s not necessarily a bad sign — the interior is spacious but their business seems to be takeout-based. The Pad Thai was very disappointing: dry noodles, stickily sweet sauce, and overall tastes like reheated leftovers. Given how quickly the food came out, we can’t help but speculate that this was pre-made(?). My garlic pork with bok choy was lacking as well: the pork was certainly not made to order, and the rice was unpleasantly dry & undercooked — an Asian restaurant should at least nail the rice. The last straw was when I politely presented the Unilocal check-in deal of 10% off: the waitress initially said ok(and made no mention that a bill had already been printed). But she came back 5 minutes later saying it’s too late because she can’t re-print the bill. I’ve presented Unilocal deals after-the-fact at so many businesses, never got such push back. Her exact words were: «Next time, you’d better show the discount before I print the bill.» Well, let’s just say there won’t be a next time.

If I could rate 0 stars, it would be better. My family ordered food tonight and we received rice that had dead worm larvae in it. Not just 1, at least 10. I called the restaurant and the woman asked if they were black worms? How did she already know what they were? She then offered to only replace the brown rice. When we said we wanted a full credit and for them to pick up the entire order, they hung up and disconnected their phone. It’s now been an hour later, and we can still not reach them. If you like eating worm larvae, then this is the place for you! STAYAWAY!!!

Very good thai food. The soft shell crab salad was amazing. It a food item i dont often see offered in thai restaurants and i wish others did. The crab is soft and the salad is tasty. Ordered the green curry with shrimp… deliciousness. So creamy, coconuty & spicy. It was excellent. Service was prompt, courteous, and friendly. Décor was cozy. We were seated by the xmas tree plenty of tables for dining. I would definitely return & recommend this restaurant for thai food.

Quality choice for Thai in Yorkville. It’s been positive experiences all around when it comes to this place, whether it’s eating at the restaurant or ordering delivery. I came here with a large group of friends not too long ago, and their venue was able to accommodate us with ease. Staff members are polite and everyone in my party concurred that their meals tasted delicious. My more recent experiences have been with delivery, and that has been just as good! The turnaround between ordering and arrival is quick, which is impressive considering the high quality of food is maintained. I am especially a fan of the ginger sauce that comes with the kao mun kai, and the pad se-ew tastes great. I definitely recommend trying this restaurant if you live in the neighborhood or find yourself in these parts one day/night.

This is one of the best Thai places I’ve been too. Their food is truly authentic which is great because I am not a fan of fusion food. Their red and green curries are my favorite. They also have a happy hour 7 days a week. Their drinks were strong and actually very good, and much better than I expected. I ordered the food medium spicy which was actually a bit on the milder side. But at least they are consistent with their spice levels over several orders which speaks for precision. I highly recommend it if you are looking for authentic Thai food. And their prices are excellent for UES.

I decided to give 4 – 5 stars right when i got my tom yum soup. It was really fragrant and instantly i knew this wasnt your typical americanized place. Not a watery broth but a dark color absolutley delicious broth. I got the chicken larb MILD and it was actually mild which was nice. It was very well flavorful but i can tell that larb is meant to have a spice in it but after a bad experience at another place with medium spicy larb i cant go back to that. I got the grilled porkchop for lunch special and its very good. Large porkchop and a decent protein serving. I dig this place, ill 100 be back and this may very well be my new thai joint all together since its far from americanized. Oh and service is nice :). Come here before u go to Gong absolute or pro thai a few blocks away Ahhhh update on 9÷30÷15 got a thai ice tea on the house for writing a good review! Much appriciated! Aka definitely come here

Went here months ago.. couldn’t find a place to eat with my friend and hesitately chose this. Food was very good. I grade it by how they make authentic dishes. .so I tested them with kaw soy. They had it very close to the ones I had in Chang Mai last year. So I can’t NOT give them 5 stars when they know what they are doing. Good thai food. Very good if u enjoy great authentic thai food. …

Based along an area of no man’s land on 1st ave in the 90’s this wonderful looking Thai restaurant is worth a visit if close by. It’s in the same location a diner type spot used to reside in. Almost looks the same but with some updates on the décor. Clean spot with plenty of seating and attentive service. The plating here is pretty terrific with decent portions. The food is solid and well prepared from appetizers such as spring rolls, chicken satay, and papaya salad to soups such as Tom Yum and Tom Zabb, to entrees such as Massaman Curry, Pad Thai, and multiple rice plates. Some desserts such as fried bananas with honey, and green tea ice cream. Every once in a while they have curry puffs as an appetizer that are worth checking out. So good! Reasonable prices too for very authentic and tasty Thai food in a part of town sorely lacking them. Also, as it’s right around the block it’s so convenient as we normally eat there and receive our meals hot and fresh. I have not used delivery as it’s faster to just walk over and pick it up.

Finally a decent place to get delivery from. I ordered red curry and pad kee mao vegetarian. Both of them were prepared completely fine. Of course I am not sitting in some 5 star restaurant that I will nitpick. Delivery was fast and both the food items tasted good. Red curry had a little bit more coconut milk and could have done without some of it but it was fine. I had asked them to make the noodles spicy and that’s what they did. I might order from this place again.

Authentic Thai restaurant with authentic Thai pace, ie slow. We’ve only done take out and it does take long, even when you ordered in advance online or over the phone. My favorite is the chicken larb from here. And medium Spicy packs a lot of heat here so next time I am going to ask for minimum spice level.

If Chapo would only apply his tunnel building skills to the 2nd Avenue Line, I’d might get here more often to stuff myself with their exceptional Thai. The food here is so well flavored, every bite becomes a delight. I had a yen for Thai, and figured my picky sis(who had raved about this place) deserved a treat. This time around I ordered the papaya salad, pungent with the fish sauce, tart with the vinegar, and slightly sweet and spicy. Also had the Pad Thai with Mock Duck, more authentic and less sweet than the Americanized Thai places that abound in Manhattan. Cold by the time I had a chance to eat it, I had to resist nibbling until I heated it up. The Phrik Khing fried rice with tofu, redolent with basil and garlic and chili, was welcomed by tongue and belly. If sis weren’t sis, I wouldn’t be sharing my Thai! The vegetable rolls were crispy, and came with a chili garlic sweet sour sauce that beats duck sauce any day. The lunch specials are a good deal, especially if you want to try many different dishes, the portions(lunch and dinner) are generous, the staff is sweet and the restaurant itself is clean and pretty. So don’t wait for MTA, and you know Chapo’s probably well entrenched in Mexico. If you love Thai, make haste to Thai Peppercorn.

Got a take-out lunch from Thai Peppercorn the other day, due to its awesome lunch deal but… it was pretty disappointing. I’d ordered the veggie pad kee mao and fried chicken dumplings. The dumplings were good, actually, with little pieces of black mushroom mixed in with the chicken and a sweet sauce to dip it in. But the pad kee mao! The flat rice noodles were very gluey and falling apart(ie, mostly small pieces of noodle) and the flavor just wasn’t there. It tasted like a sad impersonator of pad kee mao, maybe a tad more similar to pad see-yu but still not very flavorful. They give a lot of noodles and not actually all that much veggies. Service was also pretty slow. I probably waited about 20 minutes for my take-out order. There’s better thai food in the neighborhood.

After hoofing it all over Manhattan for the day, had a craving for some Asian comfort food– and Thai is my go-to cuisine. Just down the street from where I was staying was Thai Peppercorn; so walked over and was pleased to be seated immediately– and right next to a power outlet(which my phone was desperately in need of.) The menu is extensive and reasonably priced; but as I was starving, stuck with my quickie standards: Tom Kha soup and Pad Thai. The soup came out quickly and was hot, delicious and substantial — perhaps one of the best I’ve had. The Pad Thai noodles, while filling, were unexceptional — edible, but not memorable: the quantity of vegetables was less than one usually sees; bean sprouts were limp, green onions bland; and I don’t recall if the chicken even registered. Perhaps it was an off-night, but I’ve had better Pad Thai at Pei Wei, which isn’t saying much. I would definitely give it another shot, though, because the soup hints at greater things.

We went in for an early lunch on a weekend and when we arrived the restaurant was rather quiet. The woman who greeted us asked if we wanted to sit in the bar, there was a great table in the front under a bay window. It was the perfect table for us, we had lots of room, sunshine and it was like having our own restaurant. The food is fabulous. We started with a few of the appetizers, one fried roll and one that was in a uncooked type wrapper. The dipping sauce was delicious, as were the insides. Then I had pad thai, I couldn’t resist and some of the others had pineapple fried rice. All of these dishes, were fresh, plentiful. The service was excellent. I will definitely return. By the time we left there were people waiting on line for tables, and the entire restaurant was full. Good thing we came early and got the oasis table in the other room.

What Thai food should taste like(and cost), everywhere! The lunch special runs from 11:30 — 3:30PM, which we just so happened to make as we were picking up food to-go before leaving the city. For ~$ 7 you get to choose an appetizer and an entrée from a pretty extensive list of options, which looks like it pretty much covers all of the regular rice/noodle dishes + appetizers. The portions aren’t overwhelming, but definitely enough to tide you over until dinner. I liked that the service was super fast. We were in and out of the restaurant in under 10 minutes!

Yes! I finally — finally! — found decent pineapple fried rice in Yorkville! In Boston, I lived in, what I like to call, «Little Asia» and ate pineapple fried rice at least once a week. Since moving to New York City, I’ve had it once. Once in two-freaking-years — ridiculous! My mom, aunt, cousin and I went here for lunch this past Saturday, and had a wonderful(and tasty!) time. First off, the restaurant is super cute and I loved our table. It was pretty empty, so we had the place to ourselves. Perfect for us – we hadn’t seen each other in a while and had a lot to catch up on. We were also seated next to a window — ideal for people watching. I(obviously) ordered the pineapple fried rice. It was delicious and the portions were huge — it was more than enough for lunch. I could’ve done with a little more pineapple, but I always want more pineapple… I also liked the green tea; we ordered a pot for the table. It had a great flavor — a little nutty. Service was excellent; out waitress pretty much left us alone to gab, but always made sure we were taken care of(refilling waters, etc.)

I ordered on Seamless, Chicken«jungle curry,» It took a long while, They weren’t in a hurry, It’s like they took a red curry and Just watered it down, It was soupy and weird, It made me frown. I finished it, yeah, but it seemed half-assed, If I order again I’ll give«jungle curry» a pass.
