Love this place! Location wise, finally it’s great to have a quaint little place in the neighborhood to get a coffee other than in Chelsea Market, which is always way too crowded to fight your way through when you’re in search of a caffeine hit. The coffee itself was excellent. I’ve been there twice so far, and both times came away nicely caffeinated and happy. First time there I had an Americano, which I think was of some Rwandan blend: whatever it was, it was the perfect strength first thing in the morning. The second time I had a latte, which was really smooth tasting. Having worked as a barista back in the day, I could tell the guy making my latte knew exactly what he was up to. I think his name was Dee. I also tried one of their croissants, which was really fresh and buttery(pretty hard to get a really good croissant, so this is an extra, if dangerous, bonus…). Really friendly staff and a nice relaxed atmosphere. The place is small, which I love because it means it’s quiet, so it’s a great place to escape the madness of the city for a bit and while away the afternoon with a book or analyzing your wholly unsuitable Tinder matches… Definitely my new go to place.

Hearing of the Bien Cuit*-sourced baked goods, I dropped by the new space to be half-greeted by a staffer who’d give half her attention throughout the exchange(she was far more concerned with the regulars there before me, as her male colleague disparaged someone eating some Sour Patch Kids as a the fast track to diabetes — an odd contrast when uttered behind a pastry display). Asked twice(clearly each time) about what a couple of the pastries were(since they’re labeled with neither name nor price) and chose the maple yam danish(«Danishs(Yam) $ 4.00»), which was a dense, bland letdown until I reached the yam center, which barely had a hint of maple. FYI Square loyalty program: Congrats, you earned your first star! Earn 9 more stars and get: Free Coffee *Which I wasn’t surprised didn’t past long in the West Village.

Excellent experience. Really cool looking shop. As soon as you walk in your smacked in the face with quality. Fresh roasted beans, great info about the roast, yummy sweets to boot. This is my new fav place.

Wow. I don’t even drink coffee but I had to come two days in a row because this place is something special.
