It’s a West Village nightclub; it is overcrowded on weekends, door is inconsistent and unreliable at times which is a consequence of high demand these places almost always have on the weekends. Table service is decent but bar drinks are weak. It is a trendy spot and you get to meet cool people which is ultimately the manifest function of being at a nightclub. Don’t look for comfort. Try to check it out on a Thursday or Friday if you want less hassle.

Been here a few times & you have to walk down the stairs(I’ve seen a few people go tumbling down a few steps) haha. But anyways… It’s SMALL basement club where it is normally packed but always a good time! Nevertheless drinks are expected to be pricey! There is a downside to the place… Since it is such a small space rather than the average place. It can be extremely overwhelming when it is crowded where there is no personal space. But then again thank god for table seatings! It will cost you an arm and a leg but so worth it :)

There isnt a dance floor as such… its an awkward setting between dinner and dance floor… Not the best place to party.

For the money this place charges for bottle service I don’t want to have to deal with their snotty bouncers who are on a power trip. They got me once… never again

Music is good, but club is always packed over capacity. There’s barely any room to move, let alone. dance!

This club exemplified every single reason i hate clubs. It was small and crowded. The«Dress Code» they say you have to follow is complete BS considering that there were girls in jeans and converse. I should have known how bad this place was going to be because when I told a coworker I was going here for a friend’s birthday, she laughed and said that’s where her friends from back home went when they were in high school. Well, I do believe they had a steady stream of 16 year olds coming into this place. The staff was pretentious and not very nice. They force you to check your coats — won’t allow you to put it on the bench even if you are just my friend who was stopping by for a quick 15 minutes to wish the bday girl Happy Birthday. They crowd you into this small space and restrict where you can move. Ugh. Needless to say, I will never be returning.

We were just going to stop by since some guy on the corner said the cover is free. We waited on line and the snooty door people said it was 20 for guys and free for girls. That’s cool. We stepped out until we find this other promoter saying I can get you in for $ 20 all together. We had two guys and three girls with us. We agreed to it until the snooty door people were like«What did you guys expect coming on line again.» WELLLLLLDON’T GETMESTARTEDD. Maybe you guys need to change your promoters because they’re obviously not doing shit. It was 2 am. I bet Tenjune would be popping with their 2.5 stars. I turn around and this promoter disappears. Let me not. What did I expect. Another pretentious venue. I bet you guys were having a grand ol’ time seeing that the inside was practically empty.

First time. Came on the last Saturday of 2013. Arrived at around 12:30. Got in by a promotor running towards us from across the street. Line: Line looked to be about 20 minutes, but I didn’t stand on it. With a promotor: We were able to cut the line. We did not pay a cover. Getting in: Come in with a promotor for free drinks and a table! Coat check is mandatory and costs $ 3. Crowd: Primarily 20−30s all races. Atmosphere: They played a great combination of hip hop/billboard music. Loved it! There are go-go dancers too, which I didn’t mind. The lighting is blue and very dark. They have pretty thorough security who love using their flashlights. Overall: Very fun! Definitely would come back again! :)

So my review is a bit skewed because I have a great friend who is an awesome DJ and spins at Tenjune which makes my experience a little different than the norm. That sounds super obnoxious and pretentious but he really is a great DJ, and reviews are supposed to be helpful! Showed up to Tenjune on back-to-back Friday and Saturday nights. Friday night I showed up with the DJ friend, and we went to the front of the line and were let in with no cover. Grabbed a drink at the bar(about $ 15) and some water(about $ 5) and danced-slash-moved-one-inch-side-to-side in the packed basement nightclub. It’s tight for sure, looks like an old wine cellar or something, but it’s a pretty cool area of town and if you can get in, it’s a rockin’ good time. Saturday night, my friend was spinning there and had to get there early. I showed up around 12:30am and went to the front of the line to tell them I was there for my friend. They let me right in, no issue, no cover, which was really great because it was just me solo, so I was a bit nervous to step in front of the 300+ person line that was waiting. But the bouncers — who could have easily been dicks — were polite and understanding. Much appreciated! Inside, I spent the night in the DJ booth and at the adjoining table. Great service from the bottle girls — champagne and absolut, awesome. Plenty of space in our area and an amazing night. Couldn’t have asked for more!

Came here to party on the eve of Thanksgiving and party we did. Place is pretty small and it can get packed quick. Came here before midnight when everyone just started to line up at the door. My promoter/friend of course already got a table and bottles ready. As most already know, Tenjune is a basement club. A small basement. Big speakers on all four corners of the dance floor. Booty girls dancing on them sometime around after everyone is in and no more space to dance. Pretty good music selections. People at the door are friendly. Drinks are pricey but that’s just the norm now at all these meat packing clubs. Not surprised at all. Crowd was ok. Mostly Asian. So I promised a certain someone I’m picking up women. Who knew its hard to pick up Asian girls? Lol. Boom! True story…

Another lame club that will let in trashy jersey people before they let in well-dressed people of color. The door guy/manager is the biggest douchebag in NYC. It’s small and very dark inside. The only good thing was the music. Thank goodness our friends comped us and had bottle service because I would never pay to go to this place.

My friends and I went here for my bachelorette party and were pretty underwhelmed(and I was pretty intoxicated, so that says a lot). We were lucky because my friend had connections to one of the promoters which allowed us to skip the line and not pay the cover charge(the only reason I’m giving this two stars). Once inside we were lead into basement and seated at one of the tables. We thought we were getting bottle service so we just stood around and waited. When we realized that we weren’t getting this(as promised) we bought some really OVERPRICED drinks at the bar. When they realized that we weren’t going to be paying for bottle service, we were promptly asked to leave our table and shooed to dance with the other mere mortals. This club is overpriced, overrated, and extremely pretentious… I had much more fun at a dive bar during my bachelorette party than I did here! I would not go back

Went to Tenjune for the first time recently. A bunch of friends had a reservation so there was supposed to be no cover. Got charged $ 20 anyway. Bastards. On to the inside — the club is a lot smaller than I had anticipated. I figured it’d be a typical sized club, something like Ajna Bar nearby. Alas, this felt like a small basement party or something. Bar area crowded as expected. On the music front — nothing to really wow me. DJ played the standard club fare — started off house, but went on to hip hop and some Latin. Decent variety so no complaints there. All in all, it just seemed like a run of the mill club — reminded me a lot of LAVO in Las Vegas(in terms of the style and the size of the space). Can’t say I will be rushing back here any time soon. 2.5 stars, rounded down because the doorman tried to pull a fast one on me(i eventually did wind up getting my cover back, thank you very much).

When it first came bursting onto the scene Tenjune was the hottest club in the Meatpacking area. It was almost every weekend you could count on a fun night with great music, good looking people, and even on occasion the pseudo celeb(or reality star). Sexy, sophisticated, it was trying so hard to be the ultimate spot for the exclusive nightlife crowd. Then the inevitable happened: prices shot up, the usual crowd became hooligan like, the service went from adequate to unacceptable, and the promoters went from typical dbag to super dbags. When the dance floor became too crowded for the weekends, long waits for the bathroom and time at the bar eventually followed suit. The only thing that separated Tenjune from other nearby mediocre spots, was simply the name. It would be hard to imagine Tenjune capturing the essence of their glory days, considering their objective has become about filling seats and making money, rather than catering to the most vain of crowds. There is no winning formula in these parts, for success sometimes is purely surface level.

Come one now. Just look at the reviews… Need I saw more? Yes? Okay let’s start with it was a warm summer night in July(day before the Pride parade), my friend knew a female promoter who put three of us on a list. So we got there and the male promoter was being a dill hole and over ruling the female promoter. She had no voice because she never spoke up and he just ran all over here so she just disappeared and left us waiting… and waiting… and waiting. Moving right along to the jack in the box male promoter who blatantly said«where are all of the pretty girls?!» to the doorman. They are probably running away from your Jersey Shore looking ass. I usually hear things 10 minutes too late so aside from that I also didn’t want to look ghetto by calling him 20 types of female dogs so I just kept my mouth shut. Needless to say we didn’t get in and just went to a small bar nearby but my party mood was shot to hell between that situation and my then summertime hunny who was being a total d**k when I told him about the situation.

Before you waste your time and money, TURNAROUNDANDWALKAWAY! Pros: NONE Cons: 1) Run by a bunch of hustlers… friend who had a tab walked outside to get us in, and the bouncers wouldn’t let him in because they said they don’t remember him. 2) Bouncers told us no cover for girls and $ 20 cover for guys at 1:00AM, we got through the line and the 3 girls running the cover charge on April 5, 2013 said guys pay $ 30 and girls pay $ 20 each, but she’ll let the girls in for $ 10 each… STRAIGHTUP hustling who lied and/or are clearly racist(because we clearly saw another group of people walk in without paying before us). 3) Strange, douche-bag crowd inside 4) Weird DJ-ing, all over the place in genres and terrible transitions(Do you even DJ bro?) 5) No line outside for the club(should have taken this as a sign of how absolute shyte this place is)

Yeah… like other reviewers have mentioned: Overrated! Décor: 2.5÷5 –standard, average, overrated Service:2/5 –bouncers and promoters not friendly –our party had a table reserved but there was some confusion and we ended up losing the table Sound: 2.5÷5 –sound system is okay –DJ and music selection was terrible. DJ kept yelling into the mic. Music was hip-hop/rap. No thanks. Production: 2.5÷5 –the lights on the ceiling was neat but only for a minute

Came here for a Halloween event. We had a table near the dance floor, at the elevated section. It was a good thing we had a table there too, because the main dance floor was just too packed. In fact, they had overcapacity, and the cops actually stopped letting people in, so a few friends that went out for a smoke couldn’t get back in for awhile. Prices for a table are pretty similar to other clubs. Drinks are fairly strong, but a bit pricey at the bar. Good music, with a mix of hip hop and EDM, but they definitely need to improve their speakers. It was way too loud and at times you can hear the speakers being overblown. Security could not do any crowd control at all. Too many drunk and not enough staff. The Halloween event probably attracted too many. Wouldn’t mind checking it out on a normal night though.

I was here for New Years 2011. It was pretty terrible. It was impossible to get drinks and the people there weren’t that much fun. It was cramped with all the stupid«VIP couches». I’m not against having a place to sit, but they really made it tight. Heading somewhere else this time.
