Unbelievably rude owner and waitstaff. We arrived at 8 pm to an empty room with 1 table of 4 and 3 people at the bar. We came to watch the team USA soccer game as a group of 5. 1 person doesn’t drink, and 2 had to work later so abstained. 2 of us ordered a 20 dollar round, at which point they tried to charge our table 10 dollars for water(illegal). They then told us we must close our tab and leave since not enough of our table was drinking. No one was waiting for the table(place was empty). Unbelievable since we spent $ 20 in 15 minutes and would have spent more. Missed part of the game finding a new place.

we are regulars. really good value. great mix of Irish American menu. friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. music is not too loud like some other places in the neighborhood. plenty of flat screens.

My friend and I were staying in New York for a week on the upper west side and came across this restaurant because we promised we would eat at the next one we came to. We agreed it was a good choice. I had the grilled cheese that was amazing with fries that were cooked just right. My friend enjoyed her fish and chips. We both loved the Luck of the Irish cocktail. The bartender was also the waiter that night because they were short on staff. He was very nice and attentive. I would recommend this restaurant.

I’m a Guinness fan so I tend to favor establishments that keep the keg close to the tap, clean the lines often, and know how to give a proper pour. It is always worth the wait. They do it well. I’ve had a few dishes here. All good. I liked the grilled sausages. The service is always appropriately attentive and it is a place where you can take an hour to sip a beer or scotch and never feel rushed or uncomfortable. The only drawback is the crowd becomes very young on Friday and Saturday nights, which isn’t bad – just a different character at those times than I described above.

Went to Tara Hill a couple of Sundays ago with a friend. The service was good, no complaints there. However, the Irish breakfast was a disaster. The Irish should sue for defamation. The black and white puddings were undercooked. The bangers were truly the worst example of a sausage have ever had. I like a good Irish breakfast, but this one was truly bad!

Was dining solo tonight. Thought this would be an easy place to go to. Started off with a particularly well poured Guinness! Had the fish and chips. Perfectly crisp and served with malt. The bartender’s brogue was an extra bonus. And one of my favorite teams was playing on one of the big screens. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Great dinner all around. The Luck of the Irish was with me tonight!

This place is terrible. The one time I came here, my roommate and I sat at our table while the waitress circled the floor and literally served everybody else but us. We made eye contact multiple times and she even served the tables right next to us, yet never approached us to ask for our order or anything. Don’t waste your money here. There are dive bars in the area that have a better atmosphere and service than this place.

Now that the warm weather is here Tara Hill has set up outdoor seating so we gave it a try for dinner tonight. Fish and chips was the dish that attracted us and it was excellent. Firm cod in a crispy battered coating — very good indeed. A happy surprise was their burger — a house blend of short rib and brisket topped with cheese, caramelized onion and bacon. Two patties on the version I ordered and the patties are thick — not flattened — so it’s got some real height. I’d call it the best burger in the neighborhood. Personable wait staff as well. We’ll be back.

This pub is on the corner of the block where I lived for about a year. However, I only went twice. The most recent time for drinks with a friend on a weeknight. I think the reason I didn’t go more often is because I never saw any drink specials, which is weird for the area. Also, the staff seemed cold both times I came. Nice outdoor seating now that it’s getting nicer.

The bartender mocked my beer selection to the guy right next to me. Must’ve forgotten I was there because he’d shared so many drinks with the cocktail waitress

Relaxed, comfortable vibe from this place. Great wine and cocktails. I had the Bitchface(lol) which was their version of a long island iced tea. I usually don’t order these but since it was a «favorite», I had to try it — and I’m glad I did! I really enjoyed the tropical flavor of the drink, and wasn’t expecting it considering the pub feel. My uncle is a regular there, so it sounds like my good experience there wasn’t an anomaly!

Been here before. It’s an average cool bar. My husband used to come a lot during his college days. He says it’s definitely graduated from being more college oriented vibe to a more grown up feel. Beer selection is standard domestic/craft for bars in NYC. They have a live band playing, that’s always cool. Best thing I like about this place is that Koronets(mega slices) is up the block!

Cool vibe, nice staff. The sausage appetizer was phenomenal, almost ordered seconds. Nicer vibe than it used to be. Will have to try it again very soon. :)

It’s a very anti cutsomer environment. The bar tenders are drunk themselves, rude, and they keep. threatening to throw you out for every small thing, even if it’s their mistake. In the area,.much better bars are ten twenty, lions head. Even drinking at your aparetment would be a better option. Don’t go, waste of your hard earned money.

Everything you want in a neighborhood bar. Comfortable setting, comfort food, reasonably priced drinks, friendly staff. Decent enough beer selection. I feel good when I leave this place.
