Nice atmosphere. Decent wine selection and varied menu. Had the spinach pizzetta which was good. Just wish it had been hotter. Server was attentive and efficient.

Overall experience: Very pleasant and cute. This is a great place to have a glass of wine and apps with a friend– which is exactly what I did! Food: We only got apps so I can’t speak about a full dinner experience. However, the appetizers were great! Definitely get the meatballs. Customer service: Sat at the bar so the bartenders were quite attentive. Very friendly too! Décor/atmosphere: Went on a week night but it was still lively and fun. The crowd is mostly working professionals and local UW Siders looking to have a pleasant dinner and glass of wine after work.

I came here with some friends for HH on a Friday night. I have been here before a few years ago and decided to give it a shot since last time, the service was shockingly bad. The server’s seem to know close to nothing about the wine they serve which is ironic because this is a wine bar. When my friends and I were close to done with our meal(tapas and drinks), we were essentially shoved out right as we paid the bill. Our wine glasses were not even empty before a rude petite waitress said, «we have a party waiting for your table.» Are you kidding me? We just paid you over $ 100 + tip and you can’t let us finish our glasses of wine? I will NOT be back here and will certainly not recommend the«wine bar» because of the rude and pushy wait staff. The only good thing was the $ 1 oysters from 5 – 7. For that reason, Tangled Vine gets 2 stars.

Came here for brunch with my sister on a Sunday afternoon. $ 19 for an entrée and unlimited drinks(bloody mary, mimosa or bellini). enough said.

The food was amazing. The only reason why 4 stars is the service was lacking. Slow days wait staff isn’t always in point. They forgot my daughters food. The manager was very apologetic and bought our round of drinks. That was greatly appreciated. The Buffet Burger rocked and Mexican Omelet was very tasty. Despite the service, I’m sure it was an off day and I would recommend this restaurant.

Went there for happy hour. Not a big selection of drinks. Ordered whit wine for 7.00, small glass. Oysters were ok. Mushroom arrancini was ok. Meatball not too good. Fish taco was excellent. Service not so great. 3 stars is it.

Definitely like the place with all the awards with a wide selection of great wine, service, food, atmosphere and ambiance. Of course it is not everyone’s taste but in my opinion my experience couldn’t have been better with the fence fantastic wine selection and courteous service.

Tangled Vine, my neighborhood wine spot. I come here often, usually after work to enjoy a nice glass of Malbec or a Riesling. Whether I go red or white depends on my mood and what kind of day I’ve had. They also offer small dishes and yummy appetizers. I consider Tangled Vine a great place to take a date. I’ve had plenty of dates here and have witnessed plenty of people enjoying their date night, here, as well. It’s a sexy ambiance, dark and cozy.

Went on a Tuesday eve and got there during happy hour. While a glass of wine was only $ 7 vs normal price of $ 11 the amount of wine in the glass was extremely small no bargain in my book. The service was great. Food was only ok. Veal meatballs outstanding but cauliflower was not good. Of the 3 tier humus plate the only one that was good was the ricotta with honey skip the other 2.

This is amazing, comfy place which features extensive wine list. A place to come and relax after work or catch up with friends. Great date spot. When in the area, I will stop by to try their orange wine which caught my eye.

A great location for a few tapas and wine with friends. It also has outdoor seating, so it’s perfect during the summer. I would highly recommend the octopus montadito. It’s a little spicy but the octopus is absolutely delicious. I also got the beet salad, which was good, but I’ll warn that it’s a lot more salad than beets. Arancini was decent. Oysters were very good and fresh. I’d recommend 2 – 3 small plates/montaditos per person. Service is very attentive here, however I will just warn that prices are more expensive than I would’ve expected. Dinner will likely be $ 50 – 60 per person, which seems high for the type of place.

Great date night. Extensive wine list, fun cocktails, soft lighting. Asked the waitress for a cocktail suggestion –it was okay but not my favorite. Great experience overall though and definitely going back for some wine.

This little wine bar is a great spot to grab a seat at the bar and catch up with friends. The wine list is extensive(my friends love their orange wine, an unusual find) with a good selection of by the glass and bottle options. I’ve found the service at the bar to be superior to the table service. Bartenders are friendly and always happy to help you choose your next glass. Happy to have this place in my hood.

I wish I could throw a thumbs up at this place, the bartender was good, best martini ever… Menu looked pretty damn good… But the execution just fell a little short of the price tag. Great chorizo and cheese… Good arancini but could have been executed better(&bigger) Calamari was odd, and kinda gross; while pork belly slider was decent but lacking excellence. Nice place, decent stuff, but I want better than good, especially at these prices.

Tanlged Vine is an amazing summer wine bar to go to with a group of friends. Small groups may need to sit at communal tables, but the wine list is extensive and the staff is very helpful. worth a visit for sure! and jazz!

DIRTYDISHES. I’ve been here for drinks and food a few times and have been very happy in the past. They have a seven dollar per glass happy hour special as well as bar snacks that are reasonably priced and the atmosphere is nice. But my most recent visit made me question if I would come back. My glass of water contained something that looks like a tadpole and when I pointed it out to the bartender and asked for a clean glass she was very blasé about it and did not apologize. And when my friend and I ordered food both of our plates were dirty. Again no apology. And we had to ask for new clean plates. I was very surprised at the lack of concern about the dirty plates and glassware. I’m not sure if I’ll go back if I can’t trust if things are clean.

I had been very excited to try tangled vine. I got the cheese and meat plates and the veal meatballs based on the recommendations from other reviews. I thought the service was great and the cheese and meat plate was wonderful! I also agree with the reviews the veal meatballs are amazing! The one are I was unimpressed in was actually the wine selection. For a wine bar I expected more variety in pricing and types. I am an avid wine drinker and believe you can find great wines for lower costs but that was not the case here. I started out with a Syrah for 13 $ and thought it was not that good. So I switched to the chianti which was a big better but I still felt I had better Chiantis. Overall it was enjoyable experience but I would need to try more of their wines.

FYI their Website lists the kitchen’s hours under«Contact Us» Definitely a fan — solid 4 stars with only some very minor aspects. Large sidewalk seating area which is oh so lovely without being on top of the other patrons, despite being a bit slanted in some areas. People watch to your heart’s content! Before I get to the food, the service is attentive, and the servers are nice and knowledgeable. However, I had like 3 of them cycling through, and there was a bit of overlap. Megan is excellent, and Jamie has the right attitude and temperament despite being quite new. None of this had a significant negative effect, but keeps this place from being 5-stars in its class. Wines by the glass have enough variety to pair with your food selection. For food, I tried a couple oysters(decent), the eggplant with capers and charred tomatoes(wonderful warm touch to a cold dish), and the shrimp with avocado… etc. Both were savory and well balanced, as long as you like that type of flavor. Finished off with THEBESTCREMEBRULEE I’ve ever had, especially for only $ 10, and paired with some Sherry or dessert wine that Megan suggested. I will definitely return to try the rest of their menu, and maybe a wine flight I think I caught out the corner of my eye. Also, they have live Jazz and some specials during the week… wished I lived nearby.

Happy hour till 7 with $ 5– $ 7 drinks and &1 oysters. I don’t think their oysters are great quality. Go to mermaid for that if you can get in.

I came here with a group of friends on a weeknight. We had a reservation, so we got seated on one of the tables right away. I got a glass of bordeaux and pear & prosciutto carpaccio. The carpaccio was delicious and came in a pretty sizeable portion. My friends ordered the rose trio with food paring, which includes three different kinds of rose and ricotta cheese with bread. Although it’s supposed to be a sampler, they gave a good amount of each wine. They also refilled the bread at no charge, which was awesome since their ricotta was so sweet and delicious! The trio is definitely a great deal for its price. The servers were very attentive and friendly, although it felt a bit intrusive at times. They still gave us helpful recommendations while we were deciding what to order, which I appreciated very much. The bar is rather small, with only a few tables available, so I suggest you make a reservation if you plan to come around dinner time with a group of people. It was rather loud and crowded when we got there because there was some sort of reception/event going on, but I heard that the noise level is generally pretty low. The ambiance is very quaint, cozy and romantic, so I think it will be a great date spot. Highly recommended overall!
