Resized our rings cheaply and quickly, and after we had been told by another jeweler that it would be so expensive to resize them that we should buy new rings. (Our rings are two different metals.) Couldn’t be happier with this jeweler!

Very nice man who owns and runs the shop for the last 40 years! I brought in a necklace and watch chain and he fixed both on the spot. Quick, friendly, and reasonably priced.

Changed a watch battery for me. Quick. Nice guy. Took a minute to explain how a repair to my watch would work, no pressure to do it now. Don’t live in the area, but I’d definitely come back if I needed something and was nearby.

I am the happy recipient of aforementioned 3^rd anniversary ring. The ring has a ruby stone and a white gold setting. Saad was very patient and helpful in accommodating our wishes and taste. We picked out a simple, but elegant setting and he provided a choice of rubies. We visited a number of times and he remained good natured and lovely to deal with. The result is perfect for me. I highly recommend Taj.

My girlfriend has used Taj for years and loves the place for everything from fixing old watches to repairing clasps on bracelets. I went there on her recommendation to purchase a birthstone ring to celebrate our 3^rd anniversary together.
Saad was so pleasant to deal with. Very relaxed and knowledgeable, he was able to show us a number of slightly different colored rubies that he could put in a setting that we liked. The next day, it was done. The price seemed reasonable and the ring was beautiful. There is a good reason the place has been there for so long. It’s so nice to see a long time Village store be able to survive in the age of rising rents and chains stores. I highly recommend them.

It’s clear that they know what they’re doing here– I brought in my J12 to be resized and it was very quick, and a good price– about $ 15 (not sure if it was a bit more because its a ceramic watch?). It was a good experience, I’d go there again for a similar service! They also had a selection of vintage rings and jewelry that was great eye candy while waiting.

I needed a watch battery replaced which seems to be harder to have done than you would think. Taj is a small, neighborhood jewelry store in the Village. He changed the battery and even had a red band which I have been looking for for a while. He also does repairs and has a fine selections of bracelets, chains, charms, and the like. I got the feeling that he would be happy to order whatever you need. I ended up leaving two rings to be repaired because he seemed very knowledgeable and speedy. This was a wonderful shopping experience.

I came here to get a wedding band inscribed as a gift for my husband-​to-​be 4 days before the big day. I was assured that it will take 2 days to do the job and I can pick it up the Friday before our Sunday wedding. When arriving to pick up the ring, the guy just shrugged his shoulders saying the machine that does the inscriptions is actually broken. He didn’t call to tell me to pick it up in advance, though he had my number along with the deposit. What’s worse is he didn’t apologize and didn’t even care that it was too late to find another person to finish the job (an amazing jeweler on Kings Highway in Brooklyn actually did the rush job for me). He practically threw the envelope with the ring at me to leave his store when I complained about his course of action. Every business like this is based on repeat customers and word of mouth… Well I’ll never return and will mouth to everyone I meet to never go here either! Despicable business practice and awful customer service and when dealing with such major events in people’s lives its that much more awful.

I was referred to Saud at Taj Jewelry by a friend. I went in to get my engagement ring sized and the experience could not have been better. Saud clearly knows his business, answered all of my questions patiently, was very nice and made the experience fun. He rushed the job knowing I was anxious to start wearing my ring and the price was reasonable. I highly recommend!!!

Went there to change the battery in an old watch. They put a new battery in, but it still didn’t work. Put my old battery back and closed up the watch again. Didn’t have to pay, was real helpful, didn’t try to sell me anything. Good experience!
