«Taim», in Hebrew actually means«tasty»! No surprise. Whether it’s a smoothie based meal or a delicious hummus and falafel dish, this place offers it. Taim offers a strictly vegetarian menu. Coming straight out of Tel Aviv with a mission to serve hungry, vegetarian New Yorkers throughout Manhattan, Taim has been known to have quite a line at lunch time, but that’s because his food is delicious. This is arguably the best falafel around, made spicy, on a whole wheat pita, with an organic hard boiled egg thrown inside. A nice lunch if you ask me

After you inevitably get sick of Shake Shack, Blue Smoke and Harry’s(especially if you work in this area), make sure you keep your lunch plans on Thursdays free to come to the World Financial Center Food Truck lot for the awesome stuff from Taim. All you need to know is that you should get the Falafel Sandwich($ 6.50), which is an incredibly satisfying option that is also good if you are on the go and/or in a rush to get back to the office. Though there is unfortunately no meat in it, it is still somehow extremely satisfying. Neater than many other pita falafel sandwiches you may find, this large sandwich is bursting with flavor from the excellent balls of falafel and the delicious and copious tahini sauce. There are a few tables and chairs set up near the trucks which make for a more comfortable option when the weather is nice out. Either way though, the delicious food from this truck is well worth it.

Before I discovered this Mobile truck, I always went to their Waverly Place location in the city. I didn’t mind going to their store and waiting in the long line for the well deserved falafel and smoothie, but the Mobile truck right next to work every thursday is way too convenient. Definitely get to the truck 11:30 am in the morning if you don’t want to wait in the line. I order my own version of the falafel sandwich on whole wheat Pita with just«falafel of the day + Quinoa Salad + Tahini + Hot Sauce». This Combo is the perfect size for my small appetite and is delicious. If you have a big appetite, don’t change their menu. Their Israeli Salad, Green Cabbage salad in their sandwiches taste great. I just can’t finish the sandwich if i get it all. Also, I love additional hot sauce of theirs on the side. I am a big fan of falafel sandwiches and I have tried many in the City, this place is ranked no. 2 on my falafel list. Besides their falafel sandwiches, my favorite is their Date-Lime-Banana smoothie. I had never tried this combination in a smoothie before and trust me, you have to try it to see how great it tastes. Definitely order one during lunch and save it in the refregerator for snack later. It tends to run out.
