Since few months ago I’ve been trying to get a reservation Tacombi Nolita but it’s almost impossible to get one for the time and day I’d prefer. I heard they recently opened at the Gansevoort Market by Meat Packing District so there we headed instead. I got there at 7pm and I wanted the Picadillo but it was sold out. I took whatever’s left for the day. I had the Quesadilla De Pollo and Taco De Carnitas… The meat was properly spiced and cooked but lack of seasoning. The onions and cilantro garnish weren’t enough so I poured some Tacombi mole-ish sauce with a hint of barbecue. It didn’t disappoint, it was good(enough) but I expected more since it’s always packed in its counterpart Elizabeth Street branch.

Located inside the Gansevoort Market: I’ve wanted to try the food here, at this taco truck, for quite some time now. Today was the day! And here’s my experience: I waited in line, throughout most of my lunch break.(Service was so slow, that a few of us waiting in line were leaving –without ordering anything). I almost gave up too –never intending to return. But, decided to wait it out and test the waters. Finally placed my order & then the only person working the truck made me a carnita. She was nice. But, glad I listened to my intuition, telling me that this place might not be very good. As a result, while waiting in line I changed my mind from getting a full meal here & only ordered one item. That tragic carnita was the greasiest and most unappealing taco I’ve ever eaten. Sad! The best part of this experience was knowing that I made the effort to try something different and I never need to do this cute, little food truck again Hasta la bye-bye
