Half the employees don’t know what goes into each salad. I get the same thing every time and it’s always different. Sometimes they don’t even bother to ask and just put whatever they want in the bowl. Perhaps I’ll try a different location next time

I really like their salads. They’ve also got very high-quality utensils which I loveeeeeeeee! Everyone they’re speaks english and is polite and use fresh ingredients so of course I’ll go back lots of times. I once witnessed a girl dressed in black leggings and a soulcycle shirt stab another girl over the last serving of tofu, but other than that, haven’t seen anything out of the ordinary. I really hope they open more locations in the city, they could be a really popular chain! Also, if they started serving breakfast tacos that would bring in good crowds for morning brunch talk.

The salads are great but the online website to order ahead of time is horrendous. It doesn’t let me into my account to order at least ½ of the time.

Wanted to grab something healthy/light before attending a basketball game at Madison Square Garden — sweetgreen turned out to be perfect for doing that! When I arrived, the line was pretty long… But it moved really quick! The staff was fast. We waited 5 – 7 minutes to get to the ordering counter. I ordered the hummus tahina salad — kale and romaine, tomatoes, red onion, cucumber, pita chips, local feta cheese, homemade hummus, falafel, and cucumber tahini yogurt dressing. The staff asked you how much dressing you want — light, medium, heavy. Brilliant idea for salad places as most just drench the salad in dressing. I also ordered the matcha fresca drink which was incredible! Refreshing, light, and the perfect drink to pair with a salad(if you want something other than water/seltzer). Sweetgreen has a relaxed ambience… Very zen. They played great indie/folk music while I was there. Plenty of seats including rustic, wood steps that is set up for a more casual sitting area. I know some people claim this is a little too pricey but you’re getting local, organic, fresh, and sustainable produce, grains, and proteins! It’s 100% worth shelling out a few more bucks than you normally would.

The staff that works here is a total joke. Walked in, got in line and was immediately cut in front of by three employees ordering their own salads. The guy putting my salad together could not have cared less… pieces of my salad were flying all over the place. Then he put a baseball-sized wad of bluecheese in there. By the time he was done, the bowl was just over half full(including the bluecheese boulder) and there were multiple salad leafs hanging out of the bowl when the lid was closed. This place has a long way to go before getting up to Chopts level… which btw I’ll gladly pay a few extra dollars and wait in line at Chopt to avoid another experience like this. Decent salad though… I got the Apples and Butternut Squash.

This is the same idea as other fancy, over priced salad places in Manhattan that are such rip offs but are still really good. They have pre-made salads or you can make your own and the ingredients are all high quality and some are pretty fancy things that you would never expect to put in a salad. They chop it up, mix it up, and put in a sustainable bowl thing with a piece of grainy bread. It’s pretty good. I really like it. Their seasonal salads are often the best. It’s better than a salad you could make at home. You look at the salad and think you could make it, but really, you would never think of mixing kale, sweet potatoes, and apples together in a salad? Plus, you wouldn’t even know where to buy the wild rice or weird nuts they threw in. Get an overpriced salad here. Your wallet will hurt but I guarantee you’ll like it.

I’m definitely a fan of Sweetgreen. The salads are good, fresh and tasty. The staff are most often nice and friendly. However, I ate there today and was really troubled by the amount of fruit flies in the restaurant. They were everywhere — it was really gross. I would reconsider eating there in the future, based on this experience.

Sweetgreens are popping up all over NYC, and for good reason. It’s the best salad shop in NY, period. When you walk in the first thing you see is a blackboard detailing which farm each vegetable is coming from. Really nice touch if you are intimately aware of the goings on in the farm world. The fact that the vegetables are locally sourced and not grown by Monsanto is evident though when you taste it. It’s incredible. It’s literally better than Whole Foods. In fact, it’s way better. It’s so fresh, crisp, and delectable. My favorite is the Chicken Caesar, try it you won’t be disappointed. Please come to Jersey Sweetgreens!

I absolutely love sweetgreen and why this should matter so much is because I’m pretty much a cheeseburger-atarian, but sweetgreen has converted me to a salad lover. Every ingredient is fresh perfection, you will not find one single wilted lettuce leaf in their salads. They have really yummy toppings and delicious salad dressings. If too many ingredients choices becomes overwhelming you can try one of their suggested bowls like the spicy sabzi or the avocabo. My favorite is the custom bowl with kale, roasted broccoli, carrots, avocado, tofu and spicy cashew dressing. They also have great lemonade and ice teas that they seem to switch out interesting recipes on the regular. Definitely go, even if there is a line it moves quickly and is worth the wait!

I like big salads and I can not lie You other brothers can’t deny That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist And a big salad in her face You get hungry, want to pull up at Sweetgreen ’Cause you notice that bowl was stuffed Drop a size in the jeans you’re wearing I’m hooked and I can’t stop ordering

I’m a sweetgreen groupie like the rest of the reviewers here, apparently. Please open a location in FiDi!(Or don’t, because that would be hard on my wallet). I came here on a busy work day and though the line was out the door, it moved quickly enough. The somewhat off, grandstand style stairs at the back provide lots of seating even with the crowds, but I think the real pro move would be to take the salad to Madison Park and do some people watching there.

Trying to find a place for lunch in NYC can be hard enough, but when you’re looking for somewhere that doesn’t have a line the length of Broadway, you may be SOL. sweetgreen has the aforementioned line, however, the benefits you’ll reap at the end of your dedication and valued patience far surpass the time you may have spent waiting. While you’re waiting on line, catching up with friends or colleagues, make sure you allot some time to reviewing their massive menu above the salad line. The options available to you are expansive and will take your bowl of greens to the next level. I kept it simple and decision-less and ordered the Guacamole Greens, which had organic mesclun, tomatoes, red onion, tortilla chips, avocado, roasted chicken, fresh lime squeeze, and lime cilantro jalapeño vinaigrette. My salad magician threw me a curve ball and asked me if I wanted to make any adjustments, but I had to strike out on that for my own sanity and lack of decision-making skills. I’m glad I didn’t mess with perfection, though, because my salad was delicious as is — the flavors were well-balanced, the entire concoction was fresh and filling, and it didn’t break the bank to enjoy something as wonderful as this lunch. With the right amount of patience and people, spending a good chunk of your lunch break on line at sweetgreen will be enjoyable within itself and so worth the time spent.

I cannot say more good things about sweetgreen. It’s absolutely amazing, and if I could afford it, I think I really would eat here for lunch everyday. I have also never seen a salad-only establishment stay crowded even throughout dinner time. I used to think that chop’t was fantastic… now that I’ve had sweetgreen, I can’t even finish a chop’t salad anymore because it starts to taste pretty terrible in comparison. What sweetgreen manages to do is elevate takeout salads with comparable prices. The ingredients that they offer are unique and don’t seem like the regular items you would see at a deli salad bar. I feel like every salad I create can pass for a salad at a nice sit-down restaurant if I arranged it on a plate :). They have cute seasonal salads that use ingredients that are in-season/sustainable, for example, right now, since it’s almost thanksgiving/fall season, there’s now turkey, brussels sprouts, pears, etc. The lines get a little ridiculous and moves very slowly during lunch hours, so order ahead online for a shorter pick-up line to the left when you enter. If you paid online, you’ll be able to find your salad on the shelves against the wall instead of having to wait for someone to help you!

I really like the idea of this place. The food is good but for some reason, the past 3 times I’ve eaten here although the salad is good there is 1 ingredient in the bowl that throws the whole thing off. It’s like everyone walking to the right and that one person going against the crowd bumping into people if that makes sense. Lol. Last time is was the raw red onion throwing my bowl off, this time it was some pungent weird flavored object I couldn’t figure out(I think it was a time of green that blended in with my spinach) but it had the strong taste of black licorice and I didn’t like it. Next time I’ll either make my own bowl or pay closer attention to ingredients that I don’t know what they are. Their Brussels sprouts are amazing tho!!! You should get them.

I absolutely fell in love with this place. The first time I went in the staff were shocked I had never been before and gave me a free refillable drink and were so so nice! I literally made an effort to come back everyday after that. I had a delicious salad called the Rad Thai — you can pick an already made one(calories provided) or customise your own. They then ask you if you want your sauce put on lightly or not which I always do so really appreciated them asking! The seasonal specials available looked amazing as well but what I really loved was the choice of refillable drinks. There was so many different sort of infusions and no sugar ice teas which I LOVED! I think I went for camomile mint(or something along the lines of that) which was really refreshing. I just wish sweet greens was all over the globe so I could have it Everyday for lunch! Their portions are HUGEHUGEHUGE(and I love a good BIG salad bowl) and I love how they had normal seating but also a very casual ‘grass wall’ sort of area where you could go sit — as someone who eats out a lot on their own this was very ideal and such a cute idea! LOVED it. For a salad bar this is a no brainer 5⁄5. P.S: expect crazy queues if you come at lunch. It’s worth it!

I never give 5⁄5 for salad place; after all, how can food as simple as salad be that special? But I guess the line in front even at dinner time well explained everything. You could either create your own bowl, or order something ready. I was being lazy after a whole day of work and just got the roasted turkey with Brussels sprouts. What I liked the most was their spicy sauce and the amount added could be customized as well. People were also raving about the earth bowl — the calorie intake is more than 700, almost twice as much as my turkey bowl! Wish they could have more protein selections.

I get the Caesar but supplement grilled chicken for their falafel. The line is always out the door, but the workers are great and move very quickly. They’re very good about substitutions.

I really loved the guacamole greens salad!!! It was delicious and I love avocados: P The only con I would say is that it felt like it was drenched in dressing. I asked for a medium amount so next time, I’m going to ask for a light amount! Anyways-everyone was really friendly here as well. It does get packed though, as any salad joint does during lunch time, so come right when they open or during off hours!

This place blows Just Salad and Chop’t out of the water. Yes, Sweetgreen might seem like another place to get a $ 12 salad, but the variety and quality of the ingredients far exceed those of its rivals. I had my first taste down in DC, when the franchise was just starting. I was very intrigued, since they were able to create these crazy concoctions at a relatively reasonable price. It might seem super simple, but they just do a really good job with these salads, likely just because of how unique they are. Also, you’ll find a very eclectic and diverse crowd here: finance bros, women in yoga pants, tourists trying to eat healthily, and the vegan hipsters(okay, maybe not this location, but definitely in Williamsburg). All united by salad. Hard to say what my favorite is, but I just gotta say that you have to try the spicy cashew dressing. It’s rich and delicious, and gives the salad a bit of heartiness and kick that you don’t really get with most salad dressings. The seasonal menus are always changing, and there are always new things to try. As a result, I usually like to create my own, rather than go with the predetermined salads. Gotta go with kale though. Ya gotta. 9 out of 10 white women ain’t wrong. I would recommend ordering ahead of time, or going during off-peak times. It can get really uncomfortably crowded, especially at this location. I kinda wish they would expand faster, and find their way to the Union Square area. Heh, I’d probably eat a lot healthier as a result.
