I used to like Sutton Nail but recently I’ve noticed the quality has really gone downhill. Although the ladies are quite funny and engaging, the quality of their work nowadays really leaves something to be desired. I recently had a manicure there which was so bad it looked like a two year old did it — just totally sloppy, goopy, really rough and unfinished looking — anything but polished. It was so embarrassing I wound up going to another salon the next day and having to pay for an entirely new manicure. The other thing I noticed as of late is that every time i get a manicure there the polish chips within 2 days without fail. I recently heard another customer complain about the same thing so I know it’s not just me. I wonder if they are thinning the polish to make it last longer and thereby compromising the quality of the polish? I know when i go to another salon right next door to my office and have a manicure, the polish lasts for at least 5 – 6 days without so much as a chip. All that being said, and although I love the energy of the ladies and they are always quite fun to chat with I don’t think I’ll be going back to Sutton Nail until they get their act together and improve the quality as it’s just not worth the price. Also, having a manicure/pedicure is supposed to be a nice, relaxing treat which leaves you feeling pretty, polished and uplifted not disappointed, annoyed and not looking much better than when you first walked in. One more thing — the place could really use a little face lift as well. It’s just starting to look a little dingy and run down — like you wonder when was the last time it had a really good clean? A fresh coat of paint on the walls would do wonders to make it more bright and inviting and would give the impression that they take a little pride in their surroundings. And please get some better gossip magazines — as in US Weekly, People, In Touch, etc — because what’s a good nail salon without those? Maybe get a few of each one so there is more than one copy for everyone to share. It seems like there is the same old dingy stack piled up in the corner and you can never find anything good. Maybe if they made a few of these small changes and kind of perked the place up a bit, it might carry over and boost the quality of their work as well. There are many other salons in the neighborhood with much better service, cleaner and more inviting spaces and plenty of magazines. I’d love to come back Sutton Nail but you really need to give me a reason to.

This was my first time at this salon. It’s a bit farther from me so I hadn’t stepped in yet. I was pleasantly surprised with the experience. Affordable place with good service. They only have 4 pedicure chairs and 6 manicure ones so it gets full quickly after work(6pm-8pm). They take appointments although you could also walk in if you are willing to wait around those hours. Monday– Friday the deal is mani-pedi for $ 25. Quick dry top coats are extra(was told this when they offered it to me). On other days the price is $ 30 for the combo. The staff is a combo of asian and spanish speaking. All very lovely ladies.

Two words: NAILFUNGUS Cheap salon and you get what you pay for. I have never had a problem with my toenails my entire life until I entered this salon and I have been getting pedicures for 20+ years. Once you have a toenail infection, it is basically a nightmare to get rid of. Save yourself the hassle and go to a more hygienic salon, it’s worth the extra 10 bucks.

OK, I’ll add my 2 cents. The place is small and no frills, but clean enough. What makes it a pleasure are the people who work there. Everyone is very friendly and if your manicurist is busy when you need help with your shoes, someone else will immediately help you; no big deal. I like the language mix, too. Some of the manicurists speak Spanish and some I think were speaking Korean. But all seemed to be comfortable with English. I live on the West Side, and the price was comparable to my own neighborhood. So in spite of the name, it’s not«Sutton Place pricing.»

More than competent, and a pretty decent deal for a $ 30 mani/pedi. Would definitely go back.

Quick, convenient, friendly, inexpensive manicure and pedicure. I came on my lunch hour today, and found a great selection of colors, and for $ 25(plus tax and tip(cash only tip)), you can get a mani/pedi M-W. Normal mani is only $ 8. Soooo cheap. Great quality, too. Will definitely be coming back.
