I love, love, love sushi. Did I mention I love sushi? I’ve found that this is somewhat of a hidden gem in New York. Not many of my New Yorker kosher friends knew much about it before I filled them in. And while there is better sushi to be found at restaurants like Prime KO, i find my appetite and my wallet satiated when I order from here. You should note they are… Read our full review on our kosher blog:

I’m giving this 3 stars based on their pricing. It’s super cheap sushi and you would expect it to be because it’s take out only. The cuts of fish were thick but sloppy. The roll tasted dry and flavorless. The sashimi was the same. The fact they give you spicy mayo on the side may be a plus for people but good sushi really doesn’t need mayo to make it better. Selection is limited which is understood but even with the limited selection, the food just wasn’t up to par. Want super cheap sushi to dip in spicy mayo? Then you got your place! You go up the red staircase next to the freight entrance of a building to get there. I wish this place was a hidden gem but unfortunately it’s not. Not the worst sushi I’ve had.

Meh… sorry but I wasn’t impressed. The sushi I ordered wasn’t cheap and I felt my order was served too warm(it wasn’t a cooked roll) which made me question the freshness of the ingredients. The taste was very average. Those making the sushi are not sushi chefs. Not all who make sushi are sushi chefs. It had a very food truck feel to me, even though I waited over 10 min for my roll. The waiting area is INCREDIBLY hot for those waiting. While that AC unit is cooling you workers off in the back, your customers are sweating to death in the NYC summer.

Love this place for a quick sushi fix. Found it by walking by and it looked pretty sketchy. But I can’t lie I want to keep this my little secret. Quick affordable sushi can’t go wrong :)

I don’t eat a lot of sushi, but glad that this spot exist in case I have a craving again. And after eating from there I will definitely be having more craving. Only take out, but worth the short trip. Rolls are small, but the taste and prices are good.

What I like most is that there are a lot of creative kinds of sushi I don’t usually see elsewhere. Also, there are a lot of vegetarian options, not just the boring cucumber and asparagus nonsense. On the downside, they put avocado in almost everything. I like avocado, but it’s just too much! Also, look for the special combo deals. If you order three rolls and don’t specify that it’s a combo, then you won’t get the combo price. I find this rather shady. It’s a bit hard to find, up a random staircase to a take-out window with no seating.

Really good especially for the price. Our 8 roll oder was done and ready for pick up in the 10 minutes it took my husband to walk there.

Great sushi, great prices. Whenever I order from sushi Fussion my food is ready quickly, I don’t have to wait a long time whether it’s delivery or pick up. I don’t see why people complain about it’s store front, this is NYC!, space is limited. For such a tiny place It’s impressive their food is delicious! I enjoy coming to this joint and will certainly be back!

Well I am impressed. This is delicious sushi from an unlikely place. Yes, you walk in what is a dark garage and up dark stairs to the right. Turn left and there it is. A small ordering window. About six folding chairs to wait for your order. I got my usual: tuna and salmon rolls with avocado and spicy tuna. As I waited I looked at the menu that has so many wonderful things. One of the guys asked me if I had a question about the menu. So nice! Some tips: This is kosher. So they have to care about quality and freshness. Understand there are certain items you will not find. No lobster, crab, eel, shrimp. No shellfish. They have the fake shrimp and Kana(krab). You will get delicious salmon and tuna, yellowtail, pepper tuna. The variety and combinations are amazing. No inside seating. You wouldn’t want to! Take it outside to the seating by macys and that park area behind the waffle truck. Pay in cash for ten percent off. These guys are nice and their sushi is delicious. They don’t skimp on sauces or pickled ginger either I will be back when down in that area.

Despite the misspelled name, we love Sushi Fussion and order at least one time per week. It is great to have kosher sushi in our neighborhood. Great specials, creative rolls, great prices and prompt service. The only thing we wish is that we can sit down and eat, but this is a pickup/takeout place. Pay with cash and save an additional 10%.

Sushi Fussion of NYC was a strange, delicious surprise. I placed an order after reading a few positive reviews about the place and I got pretty lost when I went to pick it up. There is a small, red and white sign sitting outside of 224 W 35th street that promotes Sushi Fussion. In the past, I had walked by it and thought it looked silly. However, when I went to pick up my sushi recently I realized, I had inadvertently ordered from this place. To enter Sushi Fussion you have to walk under a half open garage, up a set of stairs and there you see a single bench next to a tiny, open window where 10 Jewish gentlemen and 1 japanese chef are taking orders and making sushi. I’m Jewish and the moment I saw my fellow Jews, I knew I had made a great mistake. Kosher sushi? This was going to be terrible. I was SO wrong. I ordered their Zodiac lunch special which comes with one of their Zodiac rolls(these are basically their best, most diverse and interesting rolls) and one regular roll. For my Zodiac roll I chose the appropriately named«Zodiac roll» which came with: Spicy Tuna, Spicy Kani, Lemon Topped with Seared Pepper Tuna, Avocado, Masago, Sweet & Spicy Sauce. This roll was DELICIOUS. Normally, it costs 15 dollars, but with the lunch special I got this roll and a spicy tuna roll for 13 dollars and the spicy tuna was excellent. My ONLY complaint with SUshi Fussion is inconsistency. I have ordered from them a few times and the online menu isn’t always consistent with what I receive. For example, I plucked that Zodiac roll description straight from their website and it doesn’t include the fact that it COMES with jalapenos and I HATE jalapenos. So, it was annoying to discover that intense spiciness when I ordered the zodiac roll the first time. TIP: If you pay in person they will give you 10 percent off your order if you pay with cash as opposed to credit. So, that chops the price even further. Extra: They always include a little cup of spicy mayo and who doesn’t love spicy mayo? OVERALL: Sushi Fussion is an impressive sushi joint and you should not be deterred by the strange venue nor the fact that it’s kosher; their both irrelevant. Now, anytime I’m craving Sushi for lunch I always know where to place an order.

I prefer to get my sushi from places where I can actually see the fish to ascertain how fresh they are. They did make the order quickly.

Absolutely amazing selection of sushi! They work quickly and efficiently which makes for a great take out experience. They don’t rush you to place your order and any answer all of your questions. Fresh sushi, many many many different options. Love it!

Great spot in midtown west. The location is upstairs and there are no tables for dine in meals, only pick up. Regardless, great specials and great quality food. Fast and delicious. Also, you get a 10% discount when paying cash. Awesome.

February 2015. Ate here two weeks In a row while staying at the Wyngate. The restaurant is attached to the hotel. Sushi was very good both times. Had one entrée which was also good. Can be noisy at times — the acoustics are not ideal. Service was good and friendly. Nice solid place for Asian food.

CONS-no Where to sit it’s a grab and go place –no deep fried rolls –rolls are super duper tiny PROS– those tiny rolls are packed with flavor –friendly staff –can sit outside n eat there –they give you spicy mayo and eel sauce without even asking most places cheap out. –huuuuuuuuuuuge selection of rolls. –no tourists –hidden little nook. Will def come back again, this area needed a good quality sushi spot and this is now it.

This place is legit! If you’re looking for fresh/quick/kosher sushi in midtown, this is the place! Forget what the place looks like, they do the majority of their business as take out so it really does not matter to me. What does matter is A. How fast my food gets delivered and B. the quality of ingredients they use. I was pleased with both. I had the Rock N Roll roll as well as a couple others as part of the lunch special which cost roughly 13 $ for 3 rolls. Not bad for midtown! I would definitely recommend this place to friends. They also have 4 other locations around new york. What a great find. Highly recommend!

Frankly I’m not a huge sushi person, but for some reason yesterday for lunch I had a craving. This place is about 50 feet from my office, and had good reviews, so I figured I’d give it a shot. Definitely a weird spot, if you weren’t looking for it you would never find it. The previous reviewer was right that you enter what looks like a loading dock and climb a set of red stairs to your right. The address is 224 W 35th St, but there is an apt building and 3 other stores also addressed 224, so keep walking until you see the sign. When you get up stairs, things continue to stay weird with 2 Jewish dudes at a counter taking your order. Luckily they do have 2 Asian guys in the back making the actual sushi… Phew I order my usual, spicy salmon roll and shrimp tempura roll, 13.50 total, not bad The shrimp tempura roll lacked flavor, tasted pretty plain and I had to douse it with soy sauce and hot sauce and ginger to get anything. The spicy salmon roll had a strong strong fishy smell to it, didn’t end up even finishing it. I’ve been back a few times, and referred several others hear, mostly good reviews. Pro tip: get the secret lunch special — 2 rolls(any fish or veg rolls) for 8 or 9 bucks minus a 10% cash discount.
