Zero stars to any subway that refuses to participate in their customer appreciation promotion

This subway store works like a well oiled machine. During lunch hours they get pretty busy and at times the long can be long, but fear not, there are about ten workers behind the counter making sandwiches super duper fast! There are about ten tables or so in this subway store so grab your $ 5 footlong(if you can) make it a combo and sit down and eat!

Says open to 10:00PM on Friday, was here at 9:50 and door was locked. If your open to 10 then you should be open to 10:00 or hire staff that won’t turn down paying guest.

I usually go to this Subway since it’s only a block away from where I work. They are also rather speedy without making you feel like you’re being too rushed. The bread is also really fresh as are the toppings. I usually order the Black Forrest Ham on Italian Herbs & Cheese with Lettuce, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Spinach, and Olives. I’d prefer PepperJack, but they only carry American, Swiss, and Provolone. Normally I’d give this place 3 stars mostly because of lack of cheeses. HOWEVER, I subtracted another star because they said I had to pay $ 1.20 for(Add)vocado. Literally on Monday I went to the Subway on 23rd and Madison and they gave me Avocado as a topping aka FORFREE. What is with this inconsistency? Should I dock this Subway or massively upvote the other one? I want me some free Avocado on my subway! Is this unreasonable?

During another cold & snowy day in New York about 2 weeks ago(or it could’ve been the week before that) I ended up at this particular Subway on 5th avenue. It was conveniently located on 5th ave and somewhat near my job. From the outside looking in this particular Subway’s has a nice décor on the outside, high ceilings, and large windows. I stepped inside and the line wasn’t too bad. The establishment was packed on that particular day. On this particular day, the $ 5 foot long special was for a turkey sub, which I ordered. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. There were a few tables available, however, I don’t remember them being very clean. They have plenty of tables for customers since this place is huge. If I’m in the mood for Subway then I’ll be passing by this location again.

Clean and neat Subway ½ a block from my office building. When I feel like I need an extra boost to my day, I come in here before heading to work so I can«start the day right» with a breakfast sandwich. I like the egg ham and cheese on the flatbread. Chewy bread and a non-greasey sandwich. This subway has always been quiet in the morning — and the staff is really great. Very consistent, and always what you expect. A breakfast sandwich is about $ 3.80.

After blitzing my body with a ton of bad food and booze over the last few days I decided to just eat something a bit more on the healthier side for lunch today. I remembered this Subway location was around the block from my office and headed over to it for the first time. Unlike many of their locations this one is fairly large with plenty of seating. High ceilings with large windows to let in plenty of sunshine. Nice cold air conditioning, and fancy light fixtures. It looks like they put some design effort into this one. Still, it’s a Subway, and they all have that uniform color coordinated chain restaurant look with the same«Jared approved» menu of sandwich offerings. This location does cater a bit to the working crowd around here with daily lunch specials, but man was it loaded with tourists! Many of them with maps and cameras. Clean place overall, but some tables were a bit messy from the crowd. Are these people too lazy to clean up after themselves when finished? Sheesh — be a bit considerate! Otherwise, no complaints. Counter staff was quick, friendly, and I had my sandwich made within minutes. No surprises as you know what to expect out of Subway, and this does not take too much thought or pondering when making a lunch decision. Considering I felt like road kill today my brain cells could not take too much thought anyway!

I only eat Subway when there’s a big ass line at Delis or Street Food carts/trucks to save time. But otherwise, I would never support franchises or chains because it’s just simply NOT worth it. I have a question why are Subways in Manhattan so cheap with their ingredients??? A $ 5 footlong isn’t that BIG or scrumptious as they promote it. Basically you get two thin slices of meat and two thin slices of cheese. Still not able to understand why I must pay $ 5+ tax= $ 6.5 or so for something that has 80% vegetables, 10% dressing and 5% meat and 5% cheese. Rather have $ 5 Halal off the street. Oh yeah, and please DOSKIP the Guacamole here, it was the most TASTELESS thing and costs $ 1.50 for a dab of dirt cheap and poorly made Guacamole. I regret it until now and it has passed 10 hours since I ate lunch
