Worst service at any subway I’ve ever been to(and I go to a lot). I’ve returned several times hoping the employees would get nicer, but no luck. Rude, slow and sloppy. If you arrive in a good mood I promise you will leave grumpy. It’s very close to my apartment but I walk to one of the others up the street. Well worth the walk to be treated like a human.

Yes, it’s your average Subway. You know what to expect, but that just means it’s reliable! I live right around the corner, have only been twice, and am not opposed to going back. Last time I got a 6″ meatball sub, it was fine. Tonight I got three cookies(white macadamia nut and double chocolate) for $ 1.52! Though they didn’t taste like the best cookies ever, they did the job for my nighttime craving. The one guy who works the counter is nice enough and the place looks well kept. Not a bad Subway!

First off, sometimes they close earlier than the hours posted on their front door. Don’t assume they are open! Customer service can be improved in one way: When the employee would talk to me he would look down, to the side, in any direction but at me. I had to keep asking him to repeat himself since I could not understand him each time. Annoying.

I ducked into this Subway for the first time earlier this week because it was close to where I live. This Subway has always looked dingy so I’ve never given it a go, but it was absolutely pouring rain, I didn’t have a single crumb of food in the house, and I didn’t feel like making some poor delivery guy bike through the deluge to hand me some pad sie ew. The guy at the counter gave me a sideways glare and immediately started waving a big loaf of bread in my face. «You want footlong, yes? Footlong?» I was so frazzled that I just nodded, and later ate the entire thing while watching Big Bang Theory. It was a big sandwich. At least he knows how to make a sale? I ordered a meatball sub with plenty of cheese, lettuce and tomatoes, and covered in chipotle sauce. Which by all rights, sounds like it should be delicious, but it really wasn’t. The meatballs were bland and the lettuce wilted, and in the middle of dinner a meatball fell out of my sandwich onto the plate and I was shocked to see that it was grey under the red sauce. A grey meatball? Grey meatballs are, of course, better than starvation, but not by much.

I felt compelled to write a review about this Subway, because it’s one of the worst I’ve been to. I walked in and ordered my usual — a veggie delight. First mistake? They didn’t ask if I wanted the bread toasted. Granted, I should have told him I wanted it toasted, but I didn’t bother. This made for a soggy sandwich later. I paid for the combo meal, which seemed awfully high in price. I know the veggie delight is always cheaper than the meat options. Well, when I checked my receipt a day later, I saw that they had charged me for a 6 inch turkey sandwich. Annoyed, I threw the receipt away, knowing I had been overcharged(and angry at myself for not looking at the receipt). Moral of the story? Avoid this Subway — and check your receipt next time.

The Bangladeshi counter help are great guys. really respectful and courteous. This Subway is typical of all Subways.

I never watch The Weather Channel, because television for me is either movies or operas or television shows on DVD or travel or food or comedy on DVR… And I never check the weather forecast on-line because, well, afterall, the internet is pretty much exclusively for research, social networking, and pornography… So, today, I left my apartment in shorts and flip-flops with the intention of walking down to Chinatown — but barely a mile from my house thunder-and-lightning begins, and then an insane downpour… So I quickly ran into the nearest eatery — Subway, «eat fresh.» I’ve been here before, a few months ago, a few friends and I came in before a party nearby and split a few sandwiches, I remembered it being very clean and pleasant inside… So, blame it on the rain, I reluctantly decided to eat dinner here. Other than two employees I was the only one in the place. I stood back for awhile looking at the menu, and to be honest, this is one of the only fast food places I’ve been to in ages where they didn’t ask«What do you want?» when it should be more than obvious(since I am not standing in line, since I am still looking at the menu) that I clearly have no idea… Yet they also weren’t completely ignoring me… Bonus point. Then I decided upon a footlong meatball marina submarine sandwich — my server asked what kind of bread I wanted, I don’t know, it took me a minute to decide 9 Oat Honey Whole Wheat(or something like that). He asked if I wanted double meat for an additional dollar, I declined thankfully because there were roughly 8 meatballs in the sub, which is more than enough. I’m not going to lie, I’m a difficult customer, and the more choices there are, the longer it takes me to make up my mind — there are so many possibilities! I want everything! but I don’t want to ruin the overall effect… «No cheese… Wait, I want swiss… Lots of tomatoes… Extra tomatoes, please, but that’s it… And onions… Can you please toast it… I’m sorry, can you please put jalapenos on it, that’s all… Oh, and some pepperoncini, too, now I’m done… I’m sorry, some black olives as well, please, thank you so much.» The service was so incredibly patient and non-judgemental… I sat down and ate my food, the rain didn’t stop, and they asked if I wanted a soda and cookie, they offered to upgrade my sandwich to a combination meal, even though the transaction had already been completed, saving me some money… I got a large lemonade and a macadamia nut white chocolate cookie — Ah, summer… I’m not much of a fast food person, and I’m also not much of a Subway person, but I’ve had a couple positive experiences at this particular location, and I’ll definitely consider eating here again sometime — but for those who like this food franchise, this location is great.
