Solid 3.5 stars. First, I want to say that I think there is a problem with the description of this shop. It is not«sportswear.» Studio 501 is a small, hole in the wall shop that caters to women and carries primarily accessories: shoes, jewelry, handbags. Actually, I think Accessories are all that this shop carries, but don’t let that turn you off. Studio 501 is absolutely adorable. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but there are lots of great finds inside. Some creative details were added to make sure that the shopping experience was easy. Interesting layout. Surprisingly lots of room. The female working there, who may have been the owner/manager, was very friendly, which is a huge plus. I don’t doubt for a second that she could give you great advice on the items in the shop and help you add the finishing touches to an outfit. Prices are on the moderate for Midtown. In early July, they had trendy and fashion forward sandals, wedges and flats as well as large, bold handbags and fashion forward jewelry. I purchased two rings(A very«Alice & Wonderland» Card Suits two finger ring and a simple industrial three finger ring). They were buy one get one ½ off. If I’d had more money, I probably would have gone a little crazy. Studio 501 is a great place to stop by and pick up an item to complete an outfit, but it is not the place to make an entire outfit. They do not sell clothing, which is a huge turn off. I also felt they were lacking in the hat department. I would have loved to pick up a Fedora. Another plus, their bags for purchases are not plastic. They are brown paper which resembles newspaper print. Another thoughtful touch.
