The clothing is cheap and not made well. Bought a pair of shorts and wore them twice before the zipper broke. The woman at the cash register said since I wore them she couldn’t do anything about them. I pushed a little further(basically begged) so she considered helping me out until I didn’t have the receipt which she had taken from me when I got the shorts due to store credit that was on that receipt. Therefore I was left with a broken pair of shorts I wore twice. Not happy about that. They only give store credit back and the staff is not very friendly at all.

I am so happy I discovered Steps! It is like a nicer version of Kara next door or Necessary Clothing downtown. They carry clothing, shoes, bags, and jewelry, and at a quick glance their bags and jewelry looked considerable. The quality is decent and paired with the right accessories can be carried off as upscale. The prices are a bit higher than Kara– I just purchased a black and white high-lo dress for $ 35. However, the majority of the items are $ 15-$ 25. Customer service was great. The girl at the dressing rooms helped me and gave me her opinion on what I tried out. The only con is that they only have 3 dressing rooms so it might take a while to try on your stuff. It’s nice to have a clothing store like Steps in overpriced midtown Manhattan. I’ll be returning on my lunch breaks :)
