I am a sucker for anything with corn. So when I read about this corn only vendor on nymag, I was really excited until i realized it was on South St. But when I ended up down there this weekend(booze cruise?) I knew I had to find it — and it wasn’t difficult, it is on the street, right before you get onto the pier and next to the large space pod-ish thing. There are five flavoring options that range from just butter/salt to butter/salt/cheese and even sweet(butter/honey). Sizes are regular($ 2.95) or large($ 4.50) — not the cheapest street food, but oh well. We went with Firetastic, which was a combination of butter, salt, Parmesan, garlic, and black and chile pepper. He asked how spicy? and we said VERY. And it was very spicy. It is such a simple concept, but each juicy little kernel(that are supposedly picked, not cut to keep each kernel whole) was delicious. I wish i went with a large.
