I work right about the corner from here and sometimes get breakfast. It’s always fast! I order a ham, egg, and cheese sandwich and a bagel and they’re always ready in less than 5mins. Also the prices are great especially considering the area. Most places cost 3x more.

Great deli for a late lunch, good price and great staff. Had the Reuben and Cuban, both delicious, lots of flavour and heaps of filling. Could be our local while in NYC!

This NY style deli, hit the spot for a late lunch in Times Square. Had a Philly, that wasn’t the worlds best, but it was definitely tasty. I would recommend hitting it up for lunch. The price is a nice find for the area.

Fantastic hidden gem! Just finished a pastrami sandwich from Starlight Deli – wow! Just phenomenal. My mom got the tuna salad and said it was the best she has ever had. I would absolutely visit this place during my next trip to NYC!

Had various choices of sandwiches and especially a sandwich of the day. Prices are reasonable since its NYC. Recommend hitting up the spot for something quick.

Pretty standard NY deli. Outside of Manhattan this would be a 4 star place. You can definatly find better but we were in a bind for a quick lunch before a business meeting and this hit the spot. I’d go back but better to plan ahead and eat somewhere delicious.

I just love this little hole in wall right in the midst of TS! I come back every 2 months or so and the staff here never fails me! Not only do they remember my order, the checkout lady said everytime I come I have a new hair do not to mention I have braces now. Whenever I stay in TS this is my morning breakfast no matter what! Great service from a great company, keep up the work!

These guys are the real deal! A true holdout of «old NY» in the ever-changing Times Square. A little hectic to actually be in the store during the lunch hour given the crowds, but thankfully they deliver at lightning speed when you place a phone order. And they’ve got some of the best grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup around. Also gotta love them for their support of the Broadway community, always sporting show baseball caps and proudly displaying window cards.

Starlight is one of the most overpriced, mediocre delis I have encountered, but considering it is smack dab in the middle of Times Square, I suppose pricing is fair. I go here only for convenience. A run to Starlight means something quick and easy, but speaking for the food, very uninspiring and most sandwiches end up being dry. Ingredients do not seem so fresh. There are much better delis around this area, within same price range, but the service/food will be much better. Otherwise, I personally would avoid in any other case. I have been going here for a number of years, and I witnessed a steady decline of quality. The food is just not good, and the selection is noticeably limiting. I have tried a share of Starlight’s sandwiches, and I found them to be terrible. The meat is always dry, the bread stale, the cheese mediocre. The quality of the cold cuts are not great and most come pre-sliced. Sandwiches in general are just not prepared with as much TLC as I have experienced at other small local delis like this. You will end up paying $ 8 – 10 for a below average sandwich. They have options for a variety of sandwiches and salads but not much beyond that. Soup is not an option here and nor is a self-serve salad bar. Their staff has been obnoxious to generally friendly. It is never too busy in here that I had to wait in a long line, so there goes a plus.

I was looking for some good Jewish deli —(e.g. bagel, lox, chive cream cheese) and found this place on Unilocal. It is really yummy! Good and fast service — friendly check out. I got an onion bagel with lox and chive cream cheese with a cup of coffee for less than $ 10! The fact that this place is in the heart of the tourist area(theatre district) — does not matter — food is great, service is agreat — would definitely come back!

Grab n go food did not look fresh. I got a wrap and it was so dry. I could have made a better sandwich. I will not be going back here

For what it is, a local neighborhood deli, it’s great! The portions for the price is perfect and the food was good. What more can you ask for? Got the pastrami sandwich and loved it. Yes, it’s plain, but the meat was good, the bread was good, and that’s all she wrote. It’s the way a pastrami sandwich is supposed to be. Believe me, you can’t get this kind of deli sandwich in California. I’ve tried. Their idea of a pastrami sandwich is three slices of pastrami between bread loaded with veggies to make it look bigger. This is a good place and the cookies are good. Thanks to a fellow Unilocaler for the tip!

Excellent service and great sandwiches. I tried the pastrami, and it is as good as it gets. On a thin platform of bread on each side, bursting with meats and cheese, it also comes with a pickle on the side. Don’t forget to ask the manager for tips around the area if you need any and get a cookie for dessert, they are the best!

This is NOT the singing and dancing one — I think people get them confused! I went here a few times on a trip to NYC in 2010, and I will definitely be back on my return trip this week. Prices were good and so were the sandwiches! It’s so close to Times Square, and gave me hope that my wallet would survive the trip.

«Damn, that’s a meaty sandwich!» were the first words out of my mouth upon opening my order of the Honeymoon. My first thought was that Ron Swanson from Parks and Recreation would thoroughly approve of my dinner, though he probably would have brought his own bread milled from the same grain as the infamous Swanson Family Mash Liquor.(Whose only legal use to to strip varnish off speedboats. But I digress.) Thankfully, they turned out to be good cuts of meat, since that’s about all there was to the sandwich. The guy behind the counter put a teeny bit of mustard on there too, but didn’t ask me if I wanted anything else. Ron Swanson I am not. Meat tornadoes are not for me. At least, not without some form of produce whirled up in there.

I work in Times Square(you should feel sorry for me) and I’ve eaten at just about every deli in the area. This is my regular place. Not only is it the closest to my office, but it also has decent food that’s reasonably priced. I usually go with one of their sandwiches. The prepared meals are relatively cheap and the portions are quite large but they are usually a bit oily/greasy for my taste. You pay per ingredient for the build-your-own salads which adds up quickly unless you skip the protein. The staff is courteous and efficient and even if the place is packed, you can get in and out within 5 minutes.

Their sandwiches are pretty good and reasonably priced considering it’s in Times Square. My favorite sandwich to get is chicken cutlet with pepper jack, lettuce, tomato, onion with oil and vinegar. They have other hot dishes as well which I’ve never tried as I’m not much of a fan of pre-made buffet style food. I mean buffet style is appearance, not that you scoop it yourself.

Want a Cuban sandwich for breakfast? Come right in! This is a true NY style deli nestled on the side streets of the Broadway/theater district of NYC. I had a sausage and egg sandwich on a croissant style roll and it was to die for! My girlfriend ended up getting a Cuban sandwich, mind you it was breakfast for us both, but this is why I love this girl! A true foodie! I had a few bites and OMG, best Cuban sandwich I have ever had. Reasonably priced, quick to serve and pure perfection when searching out a true deli near Times Square.
