Sprint Store

I went back and forth for awhile trying to decide if I wanted to write a review. I decided to write one cause I was still bothered (after several months) about the crappy customer service I received. In December I bought a new iPhone 6 Plus and a mophie juice pack from this store. Oh they were very friendly and accommodating at that time. About 2 weeks later my phone started to malfunction, so I called them (since it hadn’t even been a month yet and I did buy it from them). A male answered the phone. He was rude and very short with me. He claimed I would have to take it to a repair shop. Really? A repair shop for a brand new phone. Never once did he ask for my information so he could see what he could do. NOPE. He didn’t want to be bothered and wasn’t helpful at all. So I called sprint directly, and they said my phone was still under warranty (special promotion they were offering). I was also told that ANY CORPORATE SPRINT STORE could help me. Interesting considering I was told by a corporate sprint store that they couldn’t help me. I ended up going to the 125^th store where they exchanged the phone WITH NO ATTITUDE OR PROBLEMS. This wasn’t my first or last time in this sprint store, the employees always act like they are so miserable and hate their jobs. Please work on your customer service skills cause they are very CRAPPY!

Not sure why this store has such little stars, I’ve gone here a couple of times and received the best service I could possibly get. They are attentive and very helpful. They take time to explain everything. I highly recommend this store. The staff is friendly and make sure you leave the store happy. They have the latest phones and even set it up for you in store. Couldn’t ask for better customer service.

I Went to this location on September 29^th, 2012 at 10:18 am with an iPhone 5/​new activation issue. I was the second person in the store as the two male sales representatives walked onto the floor.
The sales representative immediately told me «there was nothing he could do» before I finished explaining myself thoroughly.
Because I was persistent he put me on the phone with customer service.
After twenty minutes and several transfers I was told that my «password reset could of been done at store level.»
There were other customers in the store and I observed how the sales representatives displayed POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!, smirked and rolled their eyes as they walked away from some of the other customers who walked in after me, their overall attitude and demeanor displayed was not one that made me want to do future business with sprint.
The environment was not friendly or inviting at all.
Sprint these employees lacked an interest to do the basic function of their job ««PROVIDE CUSTOMER SERVICE» it seems as if they are doing the customers a favor by showing up to work. I would not be surprised if this is a «low volume» location.

I am long time Sprint customer so I have suffered through many years of poor cell service, but I have been patient and now I have LTE in most areas throughout NJ and NYC. I went to the West Village store to trade-​in an old iPhone 4S and Hassan, the manager, was able to get me more than double the trade-​in amount that was advertised on the sprint website and also a buyback quote from Bestbuy. Thanks Hassan!

Ok, let’s start by naming names: Jovaine Frater. Enough said.
We went to the store without much hope. As I have had no appreciation for Sprint for the past year. Well needless to say after 15 minutes with Jovaine, she changed my mind. The issue was that one of my phones had a broken screen and we wanted to see what we could do to get it working again or replaced. Jovaine did one of the most important things I expect from customer service. She listened and because of her knowledge and pleasant attitude, we walked out happy campers. The new SPL (Sprint for Life) plan works for me and the family.
So kudos to Jovaine and Sprint please recognize her for a job well done. She restored my faith in your company.

After reading recent reviews, I went there with some trepidation, but my old iphone had died and I needed a new one ASAP.
The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. Hassan, the manager, was thoroughly knowledgeable about the hardware and the activation process, but seemed to know quite a few of the folks who apparently dropped by for an accessory or just to say hello. He made everybody feel personally welcome.
This is just the sort of neighborhood shop we need more of.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Major attitude problem with the employees and management at this location. An employee actually cursed at me during an otherwise civil conversation on my part.
Employees here refused to honor Sprint’s 14 day return policy (insisting, incorrectly, that the policy stipulated 14 days from the date or order rather than the date of shipment for an online order). Even when I called Sprint customer service and got them to call the store manager directly, the manager refused to honor the policy. Only when a supervisor from Sprint corporate called the store she relent and begrudgingly allow me to return my phone as allowed by Sprint’s return policy. Throughout the whole ordeal, the employees in the store and their manager were shockingly rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional.
Sprint is known for having bad customer service, but the rogue employees and manager in this store really push the envelope on what it means to provide bad customer service at a failing company. Avoid Sprint if you can; avoid this particular store at all costs.

Ha! Real class act over here. I called saying I was considering switching to Sprint and asked about availability of the phone I was interested in (iPhone 6 duh). They were out of stock as expected right after a release but unlike other stores that have given me a rough idea about how long of a wait I could expect, the representative here was aggressive about not offering any guidance. She insisted it was absolutely impossible to know what their daily shipments of iPhones contained and couldn’t give me an idea of people are waiting 3 days or 4 weeks.
Way to win over a prospective customer…

Had a great experience! The whole staff was courteous and my rep Jose was helpful! I have had a good experience with Sprint in general. I AM IN RETAIL and help customers above and beyond and I feel Jose did that for me even reserving my phone a day ahead without giving him a penny!

Okay, I went here because my local Sprint store didn’t have the materials to diagnose the problem with my phone. Unfortunately, there was really nothing that could be done for it because it wouldn’t unlock because the touch screen was broken.
The store was brightly lit and uncluttered. I was greeted when I entered the store. The service technician there was friendly enough and knowledgeable despite me being slightly upset that there wasn’t anything he could do.
A replacement request was made for approx $ 40 and picked it up again in 3 business days. They could’ve called me to let me know the phone arrived instead of me calling them but overall, a fairly painless process. Luckily, I could still sync my phone despite not being able to unlock it so I only lost my text messages of 2 weeks.

worst company ever, I opened an account with them and I closed it in just 2 days because bad reception and veeeery slow internet and they reported me to a debt collector, hate sprint!!!

Since my girlfriend and I are in the market for a new iPhone, we decided to check out the three competing service providers and see which one provides the best customer service along with the best plan. Being a current AT&T wireless customer, and a Verizon customer in the past, we decided to check out Sprint first.
Upon entering the Sprint store on 6^th Ave, we were not greeted. We looked around and checked out the new iPhone 4S. We also checked out some of the other phones and tablet like devices that Sprint sells. Still not having been approached, we used the phone to see what plans Sprint was offering. Reviewing the plans brought additional questions to our attention. We went over to where three Sprint employees were «working» and asked for help to which one responded that he could help us over there. The one guy over there was helping a customer as two others were waiting for their turn. Done.
We visited AT&T immediately after and Verizon the following day. Both of them had multiple representatives at the front door and both were extremely knowledgeable and pleasant. They were fully prepared to answer any question (s) we had and left us with a sense that they really wanted us as customers. The exact opposite of what we received at Sprint. Advantage AT&T and Verizon.
I heard that Sprint won’t make any money on the iPhone until the year 2015. If their customer service doesn’t improve, and fast, they might never recoup.

I’m sorry to say Sprint has forever lost me as a customer. I’ve been trying to break away from Verizon, since I’m not currently bound by a contract, and I thought I’d go back to Sprint, which was my carrier a couple of years ago. So I initiated an account via phone the other day, and took advantage of their online special.
While I was on the phone with the representative – located in the Caribbean, she said – I did have a nagging doubt about the service, because the connection quality was very poor, and I kept having to ask her to repeat herself. I also grew tired of the tedious, repetitive questioning from her end; it was as if she was trying to wear me down, but I realized that’s why they employ people in third-​world countries, so they can pay them a lower wage. I know that’s true of any customer-​service representative I might encounter over the phone, but it still irks me.
This morning I got a call from Sprint stating that they’d discovered someone was using my Social Security number. While I was grateful for that information, the day’s events took me to four Sprint offices, starting with this one at 6^th avenue and 8^th street; I went in to try and fax a few documents they required, in order to verify my identity and that my Social Security number belonged to me and not to the person trying to fraudulently use it.
Their fax machine wasn’t working, I was told; also, I was supposed to have brought my Social Security card with me. I had to go home across town to retrieve it, and the representative told me I had to go to their 23^rd street or 34^th street location; I asked her wasn’t there a Fulton street location as well? She said yes, not mentioning that it was Fulton street in Brooklyn, not Manhattan. She also never gave me the addresses of any of these offices. She also mispronounced my name and looked confused when I tried to correct her.
So I went up to the office in the Flatiron building, and was told they didn’t have a fax machine. The representative was helpful enough to tell me the 34^th street location was right across the street from Macy’s, and I went there. A worker there tried to send a fax of my New York State I.D., my Social Security card, and a recent wireless bill. The documents were all too dark, even when they tried to lighten it up and fax it again.
The worker suggested I might go to a Staples or a FedEx to send the fax – actually, I learned later from the woman I spoke to at their main office in Kansas City that wouldn’t be allowed; the fax had to be sent from a Sprint office.
It was around 4 PM and I had been at this for over six hours already when I walked up to the location on Bryant Park – through freezing puddles, by the way. I was told they don’t have a fax machine there, either. I kind of lost it then, and said I was ready to go, because I clearly wasn’t going to get any help here. The rep at this location honestly didn’t seem to care if he lost my business; all the Sprint workers I encountered today appeared to just be time-​servers, punching the clock.
In short, the huge run-​around I received left such a bad taste in my mouth and brought back memories of the problems I used to have when I was a Sprint customer before, it sealed the deal: I won’t be back. Notably, after Sprint cancelled my order because of the questionable I.D., they didn’t even try to re-​sell me. I’m truly sad, because I had tried to give them another chance and hoped they would be a welcome alternative to evil Verizon and AT&T.
