I got possibly the best mani of my life here, and that’s saying a LOT. I’m visiting from LA and had walked into a nearby nail salon that I found on Unilocal, but they were going to charge $ 2 per finger to remove the gel polish I had on. I’d seen places that charge $ 15 but somehow $ 20 seemed like gouging. I’m never charged for gel removal in LA so on principal alone I kept looking for a different place. And thank goodness I did! SpaNail is right around the corner from my hotel and it couldn’t have been a more pleasant experience. There was only one other customer when I made an appointment for 4:45 on a Friday afternoon. You can book online if you want, but I called as I wanted a spot in under an hour, and they happily accommodated. The space is clean, bright, has a lovely«natural» wood feel going on, and they play relaxing jazz music(that’s a first for me in a nail salon but I LOVED it). The staff couldn’t be nicer or more welcoming. Meri did my manicure and she was the BEST! So sweet, lovely to talk to, took her time and was meticulous about everything. I brought in a photo of what I wanted and she replicated it perfectly. Here the soak-off gel removal was $ 15, but as I said, I’d seen that for other salons in NY and figured it was going to be standard. I will say that Meri did a MUCH more delicate job of removing the polish than I’ve experienced in LA(or Vegas) where they either file it all off(and half your natural nail with it) or soak and scrape and file in excess to get it off quickly as opposed to gently. I’d pay $ 15 for removal every time if it meant preserving my natural nails, as Meri did. Beyond that I went for the Japanese polish, which I’ve never tried before, but was told it’s healthier for your nails than the regular OPI. That polish was $ 50(normal OPI is $ 40, I think regular non-gel mani is $ 30). They had a great selection of colors and glitters in the Japanese gel and appeared to have a wide selection of regular polish colors also. I also got Swarovski crystals added on at $ 1 per finger so that was $ 10 total, making my bill $ 75 before tax and tip. I typically pay around that amount for gel mani and regular pedi combined(without gems), but I’m still so pleased with my experience here that I would go out of my way to come back to SpaNail on future trips to NY. Thank you Meri for an awesome experience. To anyone searching for a visiting-NY-mani/pedi or a new«home base» for nails if you’re a local, look no further — this is it!

I booked an appointment online a day prior for a mani-pedi(basically the cheapest of each type of service that they offered). It is beautiful and clean salon with very happy, cheerful, and friendly staff. Wei was the woman who performed my services. She was extremely thorough and kind. She kept checking in to make sure I was happy with what she was doing — how my nails were filed, etc. The polish application was flawless. The other staff were creating new styles of nails and being very creative and productive. I prefer to see that over bored staff on their cell phones like most salons. This is a Japanese salon so things are done a little bit differently. I deducted one star because their service list is confusing and the differences are not really explained(other than gel v. regular). I prefer to be transparent about what I’m getting in a service. In the express mani, my cuticles were not removed, just pushed back. This confused me, but everyone does something different so I went with it! I even ran into a NYC celeb who was very nice to chat with. The smooth jazz and big windows make for a great environment. I would recommend this place, but be prepared to pay more than usual. It is a little on the more expensive side, but I think worth it for the detail that is put into this place and the staff/services. They even open the door for you and help you put on your shoes. :) Will be back! BONUS: You can tip on your card here!

My favorite salon! After going here, I don’t think I would want to go anywhere else. The environment of this place is very relaxing and quiet and the decoration is beautiful. I always get their Japanese parfait gel which is called«shibuya relaxing gel course» on their website and I always gel nail art. The pedicure is also great, the technicians take their time and they don’t rush and my nails are always painted perfectly. The technicians and staffs are very talented and patient and I always leave with the most gorgeous nails! The pricing is fair considering the quality of the work, I am very pleased with this salon.

Very overpriced! It is awkwardly silent and the staff don’t talk to you at all. They are quite rude. For the premium price I expected the manicure and pedicure to be fantastic. My nails were uneven and they rushed through the service very quickly. They were even quite rough and painful. It is definitely not worth the price.

Dropped into this place for a mani pedi this weekend. What a lucky find! It’s very clean and has a nice, soothing atmosphere. You won’t find tvs or other noisy distractions. Just a zen environment, calming music, and skilled technicians.

Totally waste of money(pedicure). I get pedicures in NY all the time(the best is J Spa), Milan, London… you name it. It was«efforless», they forgot to «work» i.e. it was $ 50 and result was below average, no wonder it was empty when I walked in. Will never go back and not reccomend. The star is for the location and ambiance.

Meri is my girl!!! I only book with her because she’s an amazing nail artist! The location is great, small and cozy and I love how they always offer you a drink when you come in. Great spot!

One of the best nail salons I’ve been to in Soho. This place is perfect for pure relaxation. The staff are very nice and skilled at cleaning/painting nails. They serve beverages, there is wifi. This place is clean most importantly. They have a coat rack for your items. when it comes the pedicure treatments they are amazing. pricing is where it should be. $ 35 – 40 For both mani/pedi/great staff/quiet peaceful place/clean

I’ve been coming to this place for my mani/pedi for about a year and I have to give them a five-star! The place is clean and tranquil. The service is always of top quality. I go to Connie and Maki. They are both very nice and highly skilled. For nail art and particularly intricate illustrations, Maki is my go-to-manicurist — she’s an artist! I’ve brought many friends here with me and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for real good manicure/pedicure. True that this place is not cheap but the service deserves the price.

This is a high-end nail salon employing specialist nail artists from Japan. I’ve been going for a year and a half and get the gel mani/pedi which comes to around $ 110+ with tax and tip. The staff are extremely talented and make even the shortest, fattest, ugly-looking, fingers look simply stunning, elegant and chic.(The staff are just delightful, by the way, it’s fun getting to know them as you become a regular customer). The salon is super clean and plays awesome music. There are only four staff so it’s difficult to get an appointment unless you book in advance. Spanail is expensive but this point demonstrates the true price of non-exploitative nail care. Given how happy, professional, friendly and talented the staff are, I would have to guess that working at Spanail is a dream for any nail-care specialist.

Was recommended to come here by a friend. By far my favorite salon in the city. I had an appt and when I walked in they asked if I was who I was, they knew their book of business for the day. Marki(I think that is her name) was amazing. She couldn’t have been sweeter or more attentive. Great attention to detail and took her time. She truly cared about your experience there and how the nails turned out. I got a standard pedicure and gel manicure. The salon is super clean and very tranquil, I was falling asleep! They take care of you here. Hidden gem in the city for sure. I will be back! ** only reason for 4 stars is color selection is a bit limited. Gel colors were on point, however standard polishes could be expanded a bit. I would bring your own color if you are looking for something in particular, just in case :-)

Needed a place to get a pedicure near the office, and this is my new go-to spot. Clean, quiet, and tranquil. My nail tech did a great job. They have different brands of nail polish; the regulars(Essie and OPI) and Morgan Taylor, which is harder to find at others places.

I was able to have an OPI gel pedicure done midday during the week without an appointment. I was the only one there during my pedicure, so it was tranquil. The décor is clean and modern, very different from your usual nail salon. I was offered a cup of green tea while I had my nails done. They name their manis and pedis with Japanese landmarks, but they don’t mean that there’s anything unique to the treatment. Mine was called the Asakusa Pedicure, but it was just like any other gel pedicure, no extra bells and whistles. It was a little pricey, but the work the technician put into prepping my toes for the gel polish was meticulous and a couple weeks later, it’s still pristine.
