Everything was deeeelish! I ordered the Mac n Cheese, probably the best I ever had in my life! Huge portions, took half home for dinner. Super reasonable lunch specials and a free beer with Foursquare check in! Also tried the Hush Puppies and Collard Greens, everything was delectable! Wish I could have tried dessert! You will not be disappointed!

Are they going out of business? If not, they should. This place seriously sucks. sorry Justin Timberlake, but please stick to music and leave the food the others talented in that arena. First of all, the place looks like a cheesy chain. You would think a millionaire like JT would come up with a classier joint than some TGI Friday’s kind of place. Bartenders totally suck — they were rude and essentially ignored my friend and I because we have vaginas. Also, almost all of the taps were removed. so they had no beer on tap and the bar was almost clear of every kind of liquor possible. Please say you are closing. because if not it just looks like total shite.

Sorry guys, after 5 years in Yorkville, you will have to go somewhere else for tasting these ribs and their fried chicken. This place is officially closed, and no specific reasons have been announced. an leave JT alone, he has left this project several years ago.

Really, JT? As another Unilocaler mentioned, he should probably stick to music. There was nothing special about this place, just a typical dive bar. I ordered the bbq nachos with pulled pork which didn’t stand out to me. The cheese was a bit overwhelming and I couldn’t really taste the mac n cheese.

If I could give no stars I would. My family and I went to Southern Hospitality to celebrate my Mother’s 75th Birthday on my recommendation. I have gone to this restaurant before and was quite pleased with both the food and the service. This time was absolutely awful!!! First we ordered appetizers — buffalo wings… nothing spectacular right? Well, they came luke warm and tasted as if they were cooked the previous night. My mother ended up with a wing that was even cooked done. When we complained to the waitress, Monica, she displayed quite an attitude — this after not bringing us plates and utensils before the chicken was served. In fact, by the time she came to our table with the plates we were done eating — having to eat on paper towels. We then ordered drinks and when she brought those, she threw the straws on the table. Throughout the entire ordeal, she never came back to check to see if we needed anything or if everything was ok. So we proceeded to order our entrees trying to make a good time out of this disaster. ALLOFOURPLATESWEREHORRIBLE!!! The food was cold with no seasoning and those that ordered fried chicken plates the chicken was fried so hard you could break a tooth on it. At that point because of the food AND the attitude of our waitress we asked to speak with a manager. The sous chef came to the table and we explained and showed him the food — all we got was an apology and one of the appetizers removed from our bill. We were planning on ordering dessert but after everything we decided it was best we leave. If this is the best Justin Timberlake can do — he needs to stick to making music. I will NEVER go to the restaurant again.

I come to Southern Hospitality regularly when the boyfriend, who lives about 3 blocks away, wants to watch the Giants play. He’ll meet up with his friends here for drinks and to watch the game because it’s not as overrun as other bars in the area. I’ll tag along even though I have no care at all for football, because I’m nice like that. Also, I can then turn it around and make him watch Yankee games with me. Fair is fair. That said, I’ve eaten full meals here twice and been less than impressed. There is FAR better barbecue to be found in the city. This place is not one of them. Their chicken is lacking in flavor and their nachos are, you know, OK. What I DO like about the place is the service always seems to be good and friendly, whether at the bar or a table. They are very attentive to refilling drinks and checking in on you. But, I’d probably never otherwise go here outside of football season.

I’ve yet to post a review on Unilocal, but the lack of service, small portions, and astronomical prices have compelled me to do so. Pros: ? Cons: 1) Was served Woodford reserve with bugs in the glass with little to no apology 2) 14 $ for a pulled pork sandwich the size of a slider 3) brisket was served luke warm JT — get your people in order bro. This place is an embarrassment to BBQ.

Southern Hospitality is an excuse for New Yorkers to get their cowboy boots on. Growing up with some real southern cooking from my mom, I found this place to be southern tweaked for the northern palate. What I did like about this place is the tables were roomy and I wasn’t pushed up against my friends. The prices aren’t terrible either and the draft beer was about $ 5 a pop. The service was okay. The waitress was friendly but she did forget about us for awhile… though she did feel bad about it so I can’t hate on her too much. The nachos I ordered weren’t anything special but they were huge-enough to split with a friend.(I’m a girl-we don’t eat a lot!). They weren’t anything special and not worth what I paid. I thought the beer selection was a bit lacking and I’m not a big enough JT to return. If I want some southern hospitality I’ll pay a visit to my mom.

Timberlake is getting ripped off. I came here for a work happy hour and had pretty low expectations based on past reviews, and they were absolutely spot-on. The food was generic and bland… I had high hopes for the fried pickles, but they were too bready/soggy. Beer selection was standard bar fare, but you would think they would have some sort of gimmick based on their branding as a Southern BBQish spot. Nothing stands out as a reason for me to return here.

This is one of my favorite BBQ places. They have the best fried chicken I ever had. Their fried pickles are also delish. The fried chicken salad was also very good. The mac and cheese is so so, I like velveeta better. Their ribs are okay but I would sooner get the chicken.

Came here on Saturday for brunch with a group of 8 friends after a charity event in the UES. We got there around 2:30pm and the $ 12 unlimited drink special(with purchase of a meal) was supposed to end at 3 but we brokered a deal to have it last until 4:30pm. Our sweet waitress kept two full pitchers of mimosas at our table at all times and then things got fuzzy… It took 3 trips to the bathroom to finally realize why there was so much graffiti«[insert name] heart JT»: he owns the bar!!! Duh! None of us had the«southern barbecue» so maybe that’s their specialty, but JT sure doesn’t know much about an asiago spinach omelet and it probably shouldn’t be on the menu. Boo liked his biscuits and gravy, but he’s easy to please. Take away: Grab some friends and go for the drink special.

I went here with a friend a few nights ago. It was quiet, being the Monday of MLK weekend, and we were seated at a table quickly. We shared the BBQ nacho appetizer, and I ordered the chicken and waffles. Service was attentive and friendly — my iced tea was always refilled before I needed to ask for it. The food was alright. The BBQ nacho appetizer was hot and gooey. I’m unsure if they made the chips there or if the melted cheese made them greasy, but it was tasty. My chicken and waffles was alright. The chicken was well-seasoned and cooked through, but cold in the center. I have a feeling they pre-fried the chicken adn waited for my order to re-fry. The plate was just that — chicken and waffles. Nothing else. I was kind of surprised that there was no sides to it for the price. I guess I shouldn’t compare them to Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles in LA. I’d probably come back for the friendly service, but try something else on the menu.

Damnit drunk waitress. Why did you have to turn my 4 stars into 2? I came here the other night with some friends and the service was horrible. It was a rainy Tuesday night and there was barely anyone in there. We sat at the corner of the restaurant near the bar. One of my friends came in late and it took us 10 minutes to get her a fork. I got up and asked the host as he also forgot to get us a fork. We ordered drinks and of course she messed that up too as they brought us the completely wrong beers. She was more concerned with taking shots with the table next to us than seeing how we were doing with our lack of… everything. Now i have been here multiple times and actually really like Justin Timberlake’s restaurant and like I said I would have normally given this 4 stars. The food is actually pretty good and the mac and cheese is one of my clear favorites. If you are with a group of 3 – 4 people do yourself a favor and get the platter thats 50 bucks that has ribs, chicken and 4 sides. I cant remember the name of it right now but its more than enough food and is really good. We even had left overs. I really like this place but until I go back and have a better eating experience I have to keep it at 2 stars.

I ended up at Souther Hospitality many a lazy nights when a walk down the street to find a relatively busy bar(other than Stumble Inn), did it for me. The bar draws a mostly non UES crowd, tourist and otherwise, who are probably curious about what kind of food a «JT restaurant» would serve or if the man himself could be spotted there. The answer to the first inquiry is average food(though the mac-n-cheese makes the grade), and as to whether you will see JT or not, I doubt he even remembers he had a hand/money in this place! Drinks are average, barkeeps are cute, and St. Paddy’s is a packed affair you do not want to be a part of!

My wife surprised me with a Dealist offer for a bourbon tasting in August. The Director of Operations, Chris Russell, hosted the tasting event in the small back room. He provided us with tastes of Buffalo Trace, Knob creek, Vintage, Rowan’s Creek, Noah’s Mill and Bookers. Later he brought out Elijah Craig 12 for us to taste. He also gave us a bourbon lesson and informed us how it’s made. Of course, he made sure we were all well fed: hush puppies, chicken wings, shrimp and ribs. One thing was for certain, this was the best Dealist offer ever and this guy wanted to make us happy. Mission accomplished. 5 star experience. Because I was so impressed I had to brag about it and bring my friends. Night and day. I came with 2 friends and we were seated promptly but things went downhill from there. The restaurant was far from full but service was slow. We waited a long time for our drinks, hush puppies, beef brisket, pulled pork and chicken and waffles. While the portion sizes look generous, the brisket and pork were tasteless meats. The chicken and waffles was the best dish. Tater tots also were a plus. Sadly my wonderful and subpar experiences average themselves out. If this didn’t have their good bourbon selection then I would say avoid like the plague. However, if I see the Dealist offers again, I’m going to gobble as many as I can, like a Hungry Hungry Hippo. IFHTP2

I had chicken and Waffles. I also had Tater Tots. I didn’t have anything else. I didn’t talk to anyone. I didn’t really even look around. I went there after brunch, sat at a table, ordered and ate. The chicken skin was fried and tasty. The chicken breast was cooked well and the meat was white. The waffle tasted like a waffle. The syrup tasted like syrup. There was no hot sauce. Only Tabasco sauce. There is a difference. I was happy with my food. The End.

Just meh all around. Went here after work to take advantage of a fast expiring Gilt City deal(unlimited ribs and beer for 2 hours) and were seated immediately. Service was actually pretty good and fast given that the place was packed shortly thereafter(I’m pretty sure the masses were gathered around the screens for the nailbiting finals of the Scripps Spelling Bee… or maybe some basketball thing, whatever). The ribs were just ok, but I definitely couldn’t get my money’s worth — after half a fatty rack, I was done. We were excited when faced with a long list of sides to choose from, but less so when they actually arrived — the portions were beyond tiny. Sides that weren’t bad: baked beans, sweet potato fries, tater tots. Sides that sucked: mac & cheese(had the consistency of cotton balls baked in cheese) and BBQ spaghetti with pulled pork(bland — and they charge an extra $ 2 for this?). If your eyes are bigger than your stomach and you end up ordering another rack you can’t finish, it’s cool that they actually let you wrap it up to go. Overall a mediocre BBQ experience — don’t expect JT’s restaurant to bring babyback anytime soon.

Mr. Justin Timberlake, I tried to pay you a visit at your restaurant Southern Hospitality, but you weren’t there. I do want to say that your macaroni and cheese(side order $ 6) is the bomb though. It’s the way it should be – using elbow macaroni pasta with creamy, cheesy cheese. No frills. Just good, comforting mac’n cheese. Just like how I like it, and in this city, it’s surprisingly hard to find standard mac’n cheese. I did get your chicken and waffles($ 15) which were aiiite. The waffles are the standard mix, cooked on the reliable waffle machine, cut up into fours. And the chicken was missing that juicyness. It was quite dry, but together with the waffle and maple syrup, it wasn’t bad. Also one more tip – the sangria could be better if served chilled rather than at room temperature. I hope to come back to visit again next time. And for sure next time, I will get the full-sized mac’n cheese!

The front area of this place is mainly a bar area, filled with mostly young people drinking. There is a back area with tables that is better if you want to enjoy your meal or if you are eating with a group. I had read a few reviews before coming, so I was not expecting authentic southern food from this place. As a result, I actually enjoyed my meal. I had the smoked brisket sandwich here — not bad. It was a good size and the prices here are not too bad. It’s about $ 15-$ 25 for a meal here. If you are expecting authentic southern food, you will be disappointed. The food here is on par with places like Brother Jimmy’s BBQ.

If you are looking for some great southern eats, this is the place to go for brunch. Southern food — check. Live music — check. Good service — check. We arrived at 2pm on Saturday and were seated right away. As soon as you enter the front door you feel as if you have been transported to the Mid There was a musician performing on the small staging area at the back of the place and someone was singing, I don’t know if it was karaōke, but it sounded good, and I always enjoy live music. There were four flat screen televisions that were in perfect watching view from where we were sitting so we didn’t miss David Huff’s tragic moment. The service was great and the food much better than expected. Definitely a southern touch. I had an omlette and frenchfries. My friends ordered sandwiches, and were quite satisfied with both. Just beware of the bathrooms. Though they are clean, the doors in the ladie’s room didn’t lock!
