This is the third dry cleaners I’ve tried in the 70s and 80s of UES and third time’s the charm! Soo Cleaners is fairly priced, typically $ 15 per load for my two week’s of laundry, which is comparable and cheaper than other wash-and-fold places in the neighborhood. The couple who runs it are absolutely lovely. My clothes are always come back neatly folded and smell clean(unlike other places where I’ve received smelly or even damp clothing). I should note the first 1-star review was written in 2012 when the cleaners were under old management. These recent reviews are more accurate!

These people could not be nicer if they tried. The woman who works at the front always has a smile on her face and is very happy to help. The turnaround for laundry is extremely fast(if you drop it off in the morning you can pick up it that night), and laundry is very reasonably priced. For dry cleaning the prices are NYC standard, I wish they were cheaper but what can you do. They also have a fairly quick turnaround for dry cleaning, and they will absolutely take special care if you point it out. If I’ve ever had a stain on anything they will absolutely make sure it comes out, and even if that takes a bit longer they’ll let you take your other cleaning home in the meantime. Finally, they’re also good for basic tailoring. Most of the pants I buy I need to have hemmed and the waist taken in(petite person problems) and they’re very quick with fair prices. Basically these people are all you could ask for in a neighborhood dry cleaners.

These are the nicest people ever. I have been using this place for dry cleaning for the past few years. Cleaning is super affordable and pretty quick turnaround. I heart this place

I felt compelled to write a review to counteract the previous«slam». I’ve been going to Soo Cleaners for several years and the current owners are lovely people, very kind and generous(they even take delivery of parcels when I am not home to sign). Recently, our building elevator was down for almost two months(!). As I’m on the 7th floor, needless to say, I wasn’t doing my laundry myself(as I usually do). They did a fine job and volunteered free delivery(7 flights) and refused a tip! That was a first, in my New York experience! I collect vintage clothing and have never had an issue with damaged, lost or inadequately cleaned items here. And they are so nice there, it’s just a pleasure to see them. Since Soo Cleaners is under new management, you should give them another chance. These are very honest, very hard-working people who are very good at their profession. I give them high marks, indeed!

Soo Cleaners is truly awful. We’ve been getting our cleaning done here for the past three years, and while things started out okay, they’ve gotten unbearable to the point where it’s time to find a better cleaner or a do-it-yourself laundromat. It’s always been obnoxious that this laundromat consistently loses our socks or swaps them out for other people’s socks, but when giant piles of other people’s underwear starting rolling in, we started getting creeped out(and also wondered whether our underwear was ending up in someone else’s laundry basket). The final straw, however, was when they destroyed a beautiful chiffon dress I owned. I was hesitant to take this dress to the cleaners in the first place, but they assured me that they would take special care when handling it. When I picked it up, they handed it over with a smile, so everything felt alright, but when I took it out of the bag when I got home, I noticed a giant tear in the material underneath the armpit. When I took it back down to Soo’s, the lady nervously laughed as I walked in and said, «Oh yeah, the tear. Sorry.» Seriously? I guess she was hoping I wouldn’t notice. They sewed it up for free, but I was still left astounded by the stunt they tried to pull. No bad feelings to Soo herself — in fact, I haven’t seen Soo in the past year and a half, because I think this laundromat has changed hands several times… but I will NEVER take my clothes back to these fools again.
