Sony BMG Cafeteria

Yea… just go the street meat carts OUTSIDE.
— Service and café employees are great
— Sandwich bar — terrible. Basically they get pre-​made sandwiches and heat them up again with their 100 year old panini press made by Thomas Edison.
— Salad bar — typical salad bar with not much variety.
— Grill — Best thing on the menu is chicken fingers… really… chicken fingers…
— Hot platter bar (?) — overpriced + using fake ingredients (come on eggs from a carton? Costco chicken wings? yum.)
— Worst part of the day is lunch time when you go down to the cafeteria and get disappointed at the selection of food.
— Best part of the café… i would have to say the rewards system BUT you have to force yourself to find something worth eating first.

Absolutely abysmal! The people are nice enough and its not their fault, but with every bite you taste that they are saving money where they can. If the have beef you get its the cheapest cut they find. Gross!
Salads are ok, but you can’t do much wrong with salads. Of course salad dressing is a different story. Enough gloop to ruin every leaf and drown it under a sea of snot.
Recently they have begun slashing the breakfast grill. No real bacon anymore just bacon bits? No peppers for you omelet? No swiss cheese?
Really?
The sandwiches are bland, the ham is too salty and probably from the bottom shelf of the whole-​saler.
Overall, I’d rather go somewhere else, no matter what the weather is like.

i work in the Sony building and end up eating in the cafeteria almost every day. i’m kind of a food snob, but i can definitely find things to eat in here. i like the featured items in the salad bar (favorites being wild rice with pecans, roasted butternut squash, marinated grilled mushrooms). the soups are yummy and the sandwich station has tons of options (they have muenster cheese!) the prices are mostly fair (except for drinks — the drinks are waaaaaay overpriced for some reason!) and the coffee is starbucks so it’s reliable and good. all of the employees are friendly and helpful, and i think that for a corporate cafeteria, this one is pretty great! they have definitely taken cafeteria eating in the right direction.
