I discovered this place on , ordered the shrimp pad thai lunch special with crispy spring rolls and thai iced tea. I also opted to try yellow curry with tofu on my own for the first time, since I’ve always had a taste of a friend’s and thought it was decent. Man, let me tell you how awesome of an idea that was. Soho Thai is a short 7 minute walk from my job in Soho so I placed an order for pick up. I took the bus there(two stops) because reasons and as I arrived, no one really said anything to me. You have to pass the tables of people dining in to reach the register and watering /kitchen entrance area. A couple servers made eye contact with me and said nothing. Granted, I do not expect you to help me while you’re carrying a heaping plate of pineapple fried rice to a table. But from my experience in the customer service industry, you don’t ignore a customer regardless of what you’re doing. You can say hello and keep going, but making eye contact and saying nothing seems a little off to me. It’s not a huge deal but I’m sure that there is someone that would take offense to such. Anyways, the food details await you below: The shrimp pad thai lunch special is $ 12 which is great, considering it comes with a drink that’s not just soda or water and an appetizer. That’s a plus for me. The crispy spring roll was good but not great. But I did have mine when it was only a little warm after I got home so it probably tastes a lot better fresh and hot. The shrimp pad thai, I had leftover for lunch at work the next day. Anyone that eats thai food leftover knows that it doesn’t always translate well after being refrigerated for hours. The noodles soak up the juices and it’s general pretty dry. Well, that was the case here but sprinkle water over the noodles before heating and it brings back a lot of the moisture. I’ve had their shrimp pad thai leftover twice and it’s been great(for leftover pad thai). One thing that could change is how much space they leave for bean sprouts. They add some bean sprouts within the pad thai, and then leave fresh ones on the side. I keep forgetting to order my dish without them because I’m not a fan, but my first time ordering pad thai to go, I got a bigger portion of food. The 2nd time, there was just so much space and the bean sprouts were just spread out and it felt a little cheapened. But again, I will remember to order without bean sprouts next time and I’ll be damned if they just leave a huge gap of space in the food container. The yellow curry… goodness. So. Super. Delish. The to go situation consists of rice in the usual white takeout container and the curry goes in a small round plastic container. When I order my yellow curry, I opt for no onions and ask to add cashews… and they did it! I was seriously expecting them to call me saying that they wanted to charge me for adding cashews but they did it, and generously so. My first time trying the yellow curry, it was after about an hour of travel and it was delicious. But the nuts felt ever so slightly soggy, my fault entirely. I’m really excited to dine in for lunch here because if the food is as great as it is leftover, I’m sure to be wowed with it freshly made. I’m dying to try their pad see eew, as I refuse to eat that leftover due to extreme dryness. Pad see eew is just meant to be juicy! Aaaaaad the thai iced tea is delicious. What else did you expect? All in all, if you’re looking for thai in the area, or are like me and like to find a place to eat conveniently located near plenty of great bubble tea spots, this is place is a great bet.

I love thai food in general !! But soho Thai is one of the restaurants added to my list to come back! I ordered the Pad Thai and it was good !!! The portion was just right and filled me up. I went with my sisters and best friend and they ordered the fried rice with chicken and they loved it. I wish the cup they have the drink in was a bit bigger because I usually drink a lot when I eat lol but their pineapple drink was fine. It’s a small conservative place so it’s nice to go with a date or a small group of people(about 4). Overall my experience there was great !

Awesome food. I often visit this place for lunch. I love all their green, yellow, red, jungle and masaman curries. Service is generally good but depends on amount of crowd. Masaman curry with Fish Fillet and Jungle curry oth shrimp are my favorites. Thai ice tea is also great!

Decided to try this place on a whim while browsing the area. Hesitant at first because there were no customers, but needed to get away from the crowd at the nearby restaurants. This place really exceeded my expectations. Very clean, friendly staff & tasty food! They really do specialize in their curry sauces. The chicken in green curry sauce was DELICIOUS. Also ordered the crispy sesame chicken, Thai fried chicken wings & curry chicken puffs. In my opinion the Thai green curry was what won me over. Not bad for the price, very reasonable.

This place is the most budget friendly place to grab Thai food in the city. They have a prefix lunch which is only 12 dollars for a drink, appetizer, and full size entrée. There are a lot of options to choose from and it is amazing for the price! ! You get so much food! The food is not exceptional but is still pretty yummy. The staff are really nice and when you go in the afternoon it is relatively empty. I’ve been there a few times over the year and never had a bad experience. Would come here just for the great deal.

Lunch special is a good deal for $ 12. I like the pad kee mao which is a little spicy and it’s not extra to get shrimp at lunch. Service is always really slow here. Even when you order 30 min in advance if you come pick up you still have to wait. Plan your time accordingly. They’re not rude but are definitely understaffed in the kitchen. Time is money. Price and quality: 4 stars Service: 2 stars

They have a lunch prix fixe menu(Appetizer, Entrée and a drink. No dessert), which is cheap, only $ 12. I had the Tom Yum soup, Pad Thai, and Thai Iced Coffee. The soup had mushroom and chicken on it. I’m used to having spicy Tom Yum soup that is spicy, and full of flavor. This one however was not at all spicy, and I could actually taste tomato ketchup! Also it was not served hot! I had the Pad Thai with shrimp. In my opinion the Pad Thai was too sweet. They do give a lot of food, but I had better Thai food in other places. The service wasn’t that good either. I’d not go back to the place.

I had a decent green curry lunch here. I would certainly come back when in the area. My comparison Thai is Ponsgri. I will need to try the spicy noodle dish to know if it gets another star.

Great food and friendly staff made our visit very enjoyable. They could use some help in the ambience dept. Plain walls & top 40 music. But the tasty food made up for it!

Worst Thai food I’ve had in my life. These guys serve the spongiest calamari you can think of. I wasn’t sure if I was eating rubber or squid. Besides that their peanut, chicken and broccoli item is watery. They literally threw the steamed broccoli onto the peanut sauce and turned it into a watery mess. Stay away from this place. Not worth your $

I would say my diet consists heavily on Asian food. I’ve tried my fare share of thai places around the city and for the quality and price this place is the best. You can get a delicious curry with rice for a little over 10 dollars, where most places it would be at least 15. You can also choose your level of spiciness(1 – 6). If you’re in the area, or even a little far out this place is definetley worth a try

My girlfriend and I ate at Soho Thai last week on our monthly date night, and I must say we were very pleased. I had heard good things about the restaurant, and it definitely lived up to the hype. I ordered the duck salad, and my girlfriend ordered the pineapple duck curry. Both dishes, and our appetizer, and the fried calamari exceeded our expectations. Having traveled to Thailand a number of times and enjoyed authentic cuisine, I know good Thai food when I have it, and Soho Thai passed the test. The atmosphere was fine, but the food was something else!

This review is based solely on the service and inconsistency of this restaurant. I didn’t think I would be back at this restaurant so soon, but unfortunately I was. My classmates and I were recently assigned to a project where we had to pick and visit a restaurant with bad marketing, prepare questions related to marketing to ask the restaurant, and come up with a 30 day social media marketing plan to help better promote their marketing. My partner and I agreed on Soho Thai. Now I was certainly not expecting any special treatment from my most recent visit, but I was hoping for their service to improve, but far from it. My partner and I came on a weeknight for dinner and it wasn’t packed at all. We were given their full menu and a special menu too. While they chose a really nice material to print their menu on, there was still mistakes on this so called«special menu». Now I am no graphic designer, but I do know what is visually appealing and the difference between consistency and inconsistency and I have took dining room class in my school before which taught me the nuts and bolts of dining etiquette. So just a few points I would like to share regarding the menu — — Before I sat down I noticed there are two different font styles going on here: Comic Sans and Arial. This screams inconsistency. Comic Sans is so junior high school! — A friend pointed out that on the menu it says, «grill to perfection» instead of «grilled to perfection» — They should have put a space in between appetizers and salad and between salad and entrees so it doesn’t look like a mess and like it can’t breathe. — And, why on earth would they put a «w/» for short hand? This isn’t a text or instant message. There was obviously no one that took the time to proofread this menu. They need to grasp onto the idea that a menu is a representation/reflection of your restaurant and your brand, so do something about it. So after we finished our entrees, we tried hard to flag down a server to take our food away and give us the bill. I grew disappointed by what I witnessed which was — there was a certain type of training going on at the restaurant, some type of mixing drinks/cocktail training, but whatever the case was I feel that any type of training should be done after or before business hours, not during. I mean it’s great they are getting training, but not during business hours and really during dinner time, where business picks up the most??? There was about 5 – 6 servers surrounding this trainer and weren’t very attentive or alert about the customers especially me and my partner. Clearly their attention was focused on the training more so than the customers. It took us about 15 minutes before a waitress took notice. We got our bill which wasn’t so expensive, but I honestly didn’t want to tip them too much because I didn’t feel the service was great, lack of attentiveness or concern for customers, and no one smiles here. We felt like we weren’t too welcomed. I got pointed out for tipping too low but I honestly felt the service once again wasn’t up to par. There was no smiles on anyone’s face and the atmosphere just felt very dull. I honestly won’t be back here. No one wants to dine in a restaurant where it doesn’t feel alive or where servers don’t smile or show any signs of good hospitality.

This place is on the block of my office– it’s great to order ahead and pick up they are fast, friendly, and its a clean place. I had the panang curry with chicken — there were lots of veggies and really tender chicken — I loved that it was spicy(i appreciate a heavy hand without even asking for it). Note — i took out back to my office, so i cant speak directly to the service, etc. Also — if your amount is less than $ 10– pay in cash(they only allow credit cards for $ 10 and more.

Not my favourite thai restaurant at all. We got food delievered which they brought perfectly in time. But: on the phone I asked the woman if the red curry wouldn’t be very spicy, she said no and therefore I ordered that meal. So I sat there, hungry as always and tried the food. 1 minute afterwards I was sitting at the table, sweating like I just ran a little marathon. In addition the rice wasn’t quite ready but I guess you have to deal with this with every delivery service. In a nutshell, I won’t order food there again. Cheers
