Came here because our friends wanted to watch the boxing PPV fight and it was one of the only places showing it. $ 15 cover charge per person. They had a back area set aside with TVs and tables arranged nicely. They accepted reservations, so we were able to get a good sized table. Staff was really attentive and quick with drinks and food. Drinks were pretty strong and tasty and reasonably priced. We already had dinner, so we just ordered some nachos. They were GREAT — really huge, with a lot of fun toppings. The crowd was pretty hyped up over the fight and were yelling, cheering — it was a lot of fun! Definitely an A-OK place to watch a PPV Boxing match. Would definitely return.

There are a lot of TVs and it is a decent place to watch a game. The food is fine, the service is fine and everything was A-OK.

Good for watching games — many TVs and just the right atmosphere. The burger was juicy but the teriyaki wings were way too salty.

I’m rating this established relative to other similar places(sports bars, pubs). Atmosphere — 4 Nothing wrong with it, but just doesn’t feel like there is any theme. Just a very typical sports bar with lots of space and lots of TVs(that’s a plus). Service — 5 I came here in hopes to watch some boxing. No bar had it on and several bars refused to put on(ESPN). This place didn’t have it on either, but the manager took the time to find it and i was able to watch boxing. That’s great service to me. The waitress was very friendly and I was a bit surprised that they knew how to make a good old-fashioned in a sports bar(so many places don’t). Food/Drinks — 4 My drink as mentioned above was great. The loaded nachos were plenty. Cosmopolitan for the girl was ok. Prices/Value — 2.5 I’m not really aware of any happy hours as came late. I think the drinks are priced a little high. I get that the rent is high so that’s the main reason because places like these shouldn’t be charging restaurant prices for drinks.

Came here on a Friday night and it was basically empty. That was good because there was about 6 to 8 of us and we had no problem finding a table. The staff was pretty nice, they had a drink special on the menu that they were no longer doing but gave it to us anyway since they made the mistake of leaving it in a menu. When more people joined us they were quick to bring us extra chairs and menus.(The service was probably this good because it was empty.) The food… I wasn’t really impressed with the bar food. We tried the sriracha wings… not that great and the wings were very puny. I wasn’t impressed with the mozzarella sticks either that came out slightly cool. The pretzel bread was basically italian bread rubbed with oil. So I say come here if you are not really into bar food. It’s probably a good spot to catch a game if you are not hungry.

Don’t think this is the spot to be. I ordered naked well done buffalo wings. I received pre cooked chicken wings that were fried to color on the outside and froZen in the inside. The waitress gets confused. This place is a a mess ! It needs help !! They think that there are doing a great job. But they can use some new good help. i thought I found a good spot but I don’t know.

This place sucks. Service is terrible and inefficient. During an open bar event, manager cut off drinks over at least 6 minutes before the scheduled time it was ending. Would never go back.

My Knicks bar for the last three year. Great place to catch the game since they always have the commentary on. The TV situation is all over the place so you can watch the game at every angle. Also they are very accommodating with large groups and we tend to get free shots from the manager. Last year we also were able get the back section for the NBA all star weekend on Saturday while they turn the rest of the bar into a lounge. Their food is mediocre, they offer your normal bar fare. They carry a decent draft selection, with a full bar.

I came here Saturday night, and it was ok. Upstairs they had a dj playing good music– top 40/dance. Downstairs was also playing good music but it was EXTREMELY crowded. We didnt stay down there very long. There are better places to go so i probably wouldnt come here again. However, there is nothing wrong with coming here for a quick drink.

I didn’t know bar food could be so bad. When I go to a bar primarily to watch games, I realize i might be sacrificing something in the food department, but this place really outdoes itself. The chicken fingers were burnt little square things, flat as a nickel. And the nachos wouldn’t even get eaten in a college dorm. The pint glasses were plastic. Come on now. In a city full of choices, I don’t really know how it survives. Better to try one of the other 10,000 places with TVs

I came here recently for happy hour and I must say, Snap checks all of the sports bar boxes. It was sort of dark(dark wood and dim lighting), lots of flat screens showing everything from basketball to horse racing(which I found strangely engrossing), and loud music — that they kept changing mid-song from electronic to hip-hop to rock. Very strange. The drinks were well made, the bartenders were chatty with the guests and they turned around drinks pretty quickly. Snap is also very close(as in less than 100ft) to the A and L train station at 8th Ave and 14th Street. This is definitely a good happy hour spot /place to come with your buddies for a few drinks and to watch a game.

I was here for about 20 mins. Originally made a reservation so we could watch the Knicks game before heading out to celebrate a birthday. Why did we leave so quickly? I felt like I was in the middle of a Love and Hip Hop/Basketball Wives taping… that type of crowd. Need I say more? Oh, and the dude who walked in with a robe on, socks, and house shoes? I was done. I’ll stick with a classier crowed at The Ainsworth thank you!

Unobtrusive, low-key, and super discreet, SNAP was the best place to catch some games, catch up with some old friends and even make some new ones. We walked in because a friend’s friend was DJ-ing on a Friday night. There were some out of town ladies at the bar enjoying the $ 5 Jäger shots and cheap drinks. The atmosphere was perfect for watching the games and the staff was pleasant the entire night. As more of our friends joined in, we flooded the bar and just started hammering down drinks. A few hours later when our bills came, everyone was pleasantly surprised and we all had an amazing time. Thanks for the music, as the DJ fulfilled some of our ladies requests, thanks for the drinks and the shots, and thanks for not being a pretentious place in the heart of one of the most pretentious nightlife neighborhoods in town.

A standard NY sports bar with patrons who love their Knicks. You know what I love? When the Knicks win when I’m here, then the bar gives free drinks out. True story. Lots of TVs in the bar, and the staff is willing to accommodate you on your viewing options(so long as there’s no NY team on the tube that night). Draught beer prices are a bit on the steeper side and the fries are a bit too fried. I like the sardine aioli that comes with it though; an extremely random dipping agent to accompany an order of fries, but it works.

We were looking for any place to eat. I don’t watch sports but my friend loves them. Anyway, the bar definitely screams sports. Large flat screen tvs playing loudly. My friend ordered the garden burger with fries and I had the mixed green salad with grilled steak. I should have asked for the salad dressing in the side because they always add too much. The steak was tender and still a little pink. My friend enjoyed her garden burger. Afterwards, the check took a little too long to arrive but it was under $ 30, pretty good. Would I come back? Ehh, maybe.

This has been my non-meatpacking district go to bar downtown lately. I like it because it isn’t too crowded, it feels like stuff is going on, yet it is also quiet enough so you can hear your friends. The beer is also cheap, still love this place. I also really like the downstairs area but I haven’t seen it open since the Unilocal elite event here a few months ago.

I came here for their brunch Thrillist promotion. It sounded good on paper, a brunch entrée and unlimited vodka cocktails for a promotional price of $ 15, in a venue with lots of TVs to watch the Olympics. As far as the TVs go, 5 stars. But most places in NYC have great TVs. As far as the brunch, it was a strictly amateur affair. I know they just started, but you’ve got to put your best foot forward. The brunch menu was barebones: steak&eggs, corned beef hash, benedict, and a fancy sounding truffle-oil grilled cheese sandwich. The steak was a bit overdone but still managed to be better than everything else on the menu. The corned beef hash wasn’t special and was more in the ballpark of something I can easily make at home. I could’ve lived with all that but the cocktails were toothless and the choices were Bloody Marys and Screwdrivers. Screwdrivers, seriously? I haven’t had one since I graduated from college. The bloody marys barely had any vodka, I knocked 4 back and barely felt the buzz at all. In the end it was a mediocre experience, and not a good way for a restaurant with a new brunch service to make a dent in the New York weekend brunch scene.

My husband and I came here to watch the Pacquiao-Bradley fight. $ 30 cover(per person!) and the place was packed! So much it was totally illegal and if the fire marshal showed up, the shit would have hit the fan. We actually stood back by a bunch of tables and, thankfully, the staff didn’t make us move so I appreciate that. If I had to cram into the crowd beside the bar, I would have had a panic attack. It being NYC, people have to be hip and spend a $ 30 cover to get in somewhere, drink half a drink, and then leave before the fight is over like it is no big thing. So halfway through the fight, we were able to sit down at a table. No service was offered, but we did get to sit down with some other strangers crowded in the back. One guy asked for service from a bus boy who flat out refused so we just figured it wasn’t going to happen. There was a near riot when the DJ started playing music during the fighter interviews. Probably because most people felt Pacquiao won and wanted to hear the details. So the DJ is kind of clueless. Also, the crowd was a little strange. Some short, fat guy was trying to set a $ 100 bill on fire during the fight. Not sure why. Don’t bother with this place.

SNAP is like the third sister* on that old TV show«Charmed». Not smokin’ hot like Alyssa Milano**(I would totally switch teams for her) and not as tragic as Shannen Doherty or as interesting as Rose McGowan(she dated Marilyn Manson so you know she was a stone cold freakshow!). What I mean by that is it was perfectly fine but not memorable. The bartenders were nice and their take on a Bloody Mary was good, they had a decent list of beers on tap and the bar stools had backs, but otherwise it was just okay. Nice place, but there are plenty of places that have a little more pizazz. This isn’t a bad place to have a drink with friends but if it’s excitement you want, keep looking, Sherlock! _________________ *Holly Marie Combs was the name of the actress ** Do you know any college-age guys in the 80’s who didn’t want to do her«Teen Steam» workout?

Oh, SNAP!* I had a great time here. But, I’m prone to having a great time most places because that’s just how great of a guy I am, so maybe we curb the enthusiasm a bit here. You see, for every great thing SNAP seems to pull off, there’s always the con to knock it back down a notch. Let me explain. Sight lines are extremely important in a sports bar, and SNAP’s got ‘em. However, the space available to stand and watch a game is pretty tight due to its fragmented, convoluted layout. You’d think it would’ve just made more sense to open up the whole joint to one big room. Patrons flock here by the boatload, and while no one likes to party in an empty bar, snaking your way through a packed house is not always all that desirable. The décor is a more lounge-like approach than sports bar, due in part to the somewhat-fancy, somewhat-forced patterned wallpaper. Still, it’s classier than most other places to catch a game, further confirmed by the suit-clad clientele. The waitresses look cute in their sporty uniforms, but the dead-behind-the-eyes expressions on their faces read as if they’d care to be anywhere other than SNAP. Hey, it’s still work — I understand. I noticed a few customers bite back at the bouncer working the hallway between the bathrooms and downstairs kitchen. It’s not his fault the place only has two toilets and the space he’s working with to patrol a line back there is far too limited for the size of the crowd. I happen to think the guy was doing the best he could’ve given the situation. In summation, there’s a lot of give-and-take with a place like SNAP. But as long they can give me a good time, hey, I’ll take it. *New record for shortest amount of time spent on writing an opening line: 0.3 second. Not even enough time to get a shot off in basketball.
